So... any updates from those testing the NXT Asset Exchange?

Probably why CFB is in MIA for last few days, or he's on a weekend ski trip.
FIFY
(just my suspicion, nothing concrete.  why has nobody commented yet that he happened to go out of pocket at the same time as the Miami Bitcoin Conf???)

The network tries to produce one block per 10 minutes. It does this by automatically adjusting how difficult it is to produce blocks.

NXTarea.com update - Arbitrary Message Explorer
My next update for today is the Arbitrary Message Explorer. There you find EVERY message which got sent to the network so far. You can also search for specific accounts which sent or received arbitrary messages.

When it is announced several days or even weeks in advance that NXT will be introduced on a given exchange, the price will not rise dramatically as we have seen in connection with the NXT introduction on Vircurex today. The hype around this introduction already happened several days ago and thus is already calculated in the price, unlike when NXT was introduced on bter without anyone knowing prior to the actual release, and the price increased dramatically in very short time.

I have multiple voting methods coded for community testing (per utopianfuture's proposal) I just need a way to send and receive API calls in PHP. The below example returns NULL... Suggestions?

Code:
<?php

function get_web_page$url )
    {
...

$ch curl_init($url);
...
    }

$result get_web_page('http://node6.mynxt.info:7874/nxt?requestType=getBalance&account=10006970057300228034');

var_dump($result);

?>
$ch... Is it a cURL handle or FALSE?

this!
Bter has 20x the volume of vircurex... therefore it won´t have a huge influence.

Adding on cryptsy would be huge

Hi everyone.

How about these for a couple of proofs of concept?  Two one-minute spots I recorded this evening:

General Nxt intro: https://soundcloud.com/whatsupnxt/nxtminute-0001
Nxt minute: https://soundcloud.com/whatsupnxt/nxtminute_0002

I welcome feedback.

Here's my take on the one minute spot, using joefox's example as inspiration, and trying to take into consideration all the feedback that was given:

Nxt LTB Spot, Episode 1: https://soundcloud.com/bithic/nxtltbspot-ep1

Anymore feedback on this? Please give feedback on the content as well as my reading. Criticisms welcome, my ego is not wrapped up in this. I'm not trying to compete to be the voice, just putting forward an idea. This should be considered a rough draft.

Earn interest on BTC, LTC and PPC account balances
We now pay interest on BTC, LTC, PPC, NVC and WDC account balances, they are paid multiple times every day. Check out the help for details.

does this mean vircurex is doing fractional reserve? one would think the community would be in horror over this. im not one of those hard line anti fractional reserve guys myself but i know a lot of people in the bitcoin community are.
My understanding is that they distribute some percentage of the trading fees and call it interest.

I like it actually, you could try to lie a little more strength in your voice and sometimes it's a little too fast, besides that the content and your voice is perfectly fine Smiley

The more NXT someone has, the more right he has to decide. It's natural.
No, it's not. Wealth =/= Competence. To provide a good voting (as well as good block), u need proof/vote's weight method. Your existance in front of ~elector in old times, your verified ID (passport, etc) today.

For every non-commecial problem there goes or equality of minds, or hierarchy of any knid (age, blood, wealth, weapon, intellect, etc).

Shareholder's voting by shares make sense only in commercial projects. Which I think Nxt is not.

Hm... It was started like corporation.
Wrong. It wasn't an IPO, it was initial distribution of coins. Only way to start 100% PoS-currency at all. ~$2-3k cap (in old prices) to start a future (in eyes of creator)? To distribute anyway, not to sell shares of future corporation.

Wrong. It wasn't an IPO
Disagree. For me it was pure investment, buying a share in NXT system. Cool

not saying you are wrong but i just wanted to point out that a large stake holder already has a strong incentive not to make a bad decision. if he does it will lower the value of his stake.
Like today no one will vote for polititian, tomorrow he'll blame for everything bad? Mistakes and manipulations (and some lies to yourself). People aren't perfect.

Disagree.
Well, as I recall answer of BCNext, he thought about it as of distribution, nothing else, all risks on participants. Wanna change the world with your share? Do it, he "said". Wanna speculate and get rich? U can do it too. Freedom.

But non-commercial statement.

I agree with cheating possibility on any imaginable voting system. What do we need? Forum (Internet/real-life places) polls a good way to go IMO. Speaker've some time to prove his competence, can pin achievments to his words and all voters in their mind'll weigh his opinion/proposal. And with some rules (50%+1 consensus, 2/3, 75%... of any active memebers of community now, of at same time period, of all respected memebers included... and so on, and so on) decision'll be made with time.
