For what it's worth. Here's my two utc (is that less than 2 cents?) It's tiring to read all the negativity. It's not productive at all. I have been mining and buying utc since the day the pools first opened. I am a small potatoes miner compared to what others here, and overall, have invested in equipment. At the end of the day, Bumface didn't put a gun to my head and say, Jeff, buy and mine utc now. I happened to read some of his comments in the trollbox about the upcoming release of utc. I remember seeing previous comments he posted and found his advice to be honest and simple. I was the one that decided to get on board. I was the one that decided to cash out of my other coins and buy into utc. I do not regret that decision now nor will I in the future. How can anyone lay the current price of utc at anyone's feet. I am thrilled that bitcoin is still trading at 540usd. Common. It's incredible that it is after all the news and recent events. It's amazing that the market is still as active as it is. Prices are down across the board for all coins. ltc is at 13usd. ltc/btc is .024 trending down to .023. What am I too blame every coin creator and team for the depression of prices? I take responsibility for my own actions. You can flame me if you want and tell me to go fuck off, however that doesn't change anything. We've become so used to seeing coins come to market, explode in price, make some folks money, then wither and die. Don't be duped There's so much installed hashing capacity and investment in hardware that it's necessary for all these crap cloned coins. Institutional miners need to justify their own bottom lines. It's a business folks. My monthly electric bill is 750usd. Those are my bills and the cost of doing business that I have incurred.
So what do I do now? Like many of you, I lost money in gox. shame on them and me. moving on. sites getting hacked. well there are many assholes out there and people that suck. moving on. At this point I don't have much to work with outside of the utc in my wallet. I will not sell at these prices, and the small amount of coin i mine outside of utc will provide little impact to help prop up the price. I am holding. That was my plan all along. Even trading at 0004 on CT I wasn't selling. I don't think any of us where. So what the fuck then. I continue to mine. I am not giving up now. I wish I had more coin to continue to buy in volume. It's only been a month since release. I am giving it time. That the coin has weathered this much turmoil shows the strength of the community behind it. That's what I believe in. It's the community behind the coin that will send it to the moon. It will go there too. I just want more utc before it does.
Keep on swimming, keep on swimming.
+1 In same boat im just mining UTC so can't put anymore BTC in UTC i would love to be buying @ these price's

Here's a question that I can't answer. How as a community can we proactively increase awareness of Ultracoin to get people wanting to visit exchanges and trade BTC for UTC?We don't need Bumface or Ziggy to lead, surely we in the community can come up with ideas. How did DOGE, LTC, Peercoin etc. first get on the radar? Do we have any stakeholders or crypto-coin veterans on the thread that can remeber and advise? Ultracoin does have a USP because it is only a handful of ASIC resistent coins, how can we market this, get the word out so it is seen as the alternative coin to LTC? Here's some thoughts: - Twitter campaign to get Ultracoin noticed in the crypto community, how many of us have Twitter accounts? Let follow each other and start tweeting
- Article on Coindesk and other similar crypto newsdesks
- Get a mention on Lets Talk Bitcoin or other Podcasts / Radio stations
- Put together a t-shirt design for Ultracoin on http://www.51attack.com/ highlighting resistance to ASIC and get them to accept Ultracoin

Try your GPU engine at 1000, mem at 1250 and make it -g 2, provided you have 8GB ram. Edit: Nevermind. Just saw that you had 4GB. Try this: --scrypt-jane --sj-nfmin 4 --sj-nfmax 30 --sj-time 1388361600 -I 11 --gpu-engine 1150 --gpu-memclock 1250 -w 256 -g 2 --auto-fan --temp-target 75 --temp-overheat 80 --temp-cutoff 85 --shaders 2048 Yes, leave TC blank but make sure to delete any old bin files previously generate by CGMiner. It really doesn't help when people just keep dumping coins utc isn't very profitable to mine anymore, drk is more profitable now. I'm still holding the paltry 2800UTC I was able to mine with my single card but now I am mining drk and dumping what I mine.

I have made a new forum section where we can coordinate promotional efforts.
our first effort will be creating more spending places for UTC,so people will have a reason to mine and own it..
http://forum.ultracoin.net/viewforum.php?f=8
Please replay to this topic if you have a suggestion for a spending place such as a webshop.
Lets all coordinate efforts into an effective strategy

Yes, I decided yesterday to just put my UTC in my wallet and stop trading it. I'm trading DRK and VTC, two coins that I think are UTC's competitors. I'm a trader, and I trade coins that have volume. So how do we get volume? I'd suggest everyone read bitcointalk and reddit for those two coins and see what they are doing.

KC i will start contacting media outlets on monday, in the mean time i will prepare a statement for that about the tshirts, we should get makemebeats art on the shirts...i will collect them all in 1 place Thanks Bumface, maybe a competition to choose the design to put forward? Say we all put 10, 100 or 1,000 UTC into a pot, we run the poll for a week (maybe less) showing designs on Facebook and Twitter, ask friends what they think and to cast a vote. Then from those who voted for the winning design we have a draw for 1st, 2nd and 3rd place and they get a proportion of the pot in UTC (50%, 30%, 20%?) I think this woud create quite a bit of interest. We'd increase visibility on FB and Twitter (use a hashtag #UltracoinT-shirtComp, get new people into crypto and especially UTC, we get a nice design which ends up on 51Attack, they would be more likely to stock if we included them in the competition publicity? Using the following setting with my Sapphire 280X dual-x:
ultracoinminer --scrypt-jane --sj-nfmin 4 --sj-nfmax 30 --sj-time 1388361600 -o stratum+tcp://pickaxe.pool.pm:3306 -u username.worker -p pass --thread-concurrency 9500 -g 1 -I 11 -w 256 --gpu-powertune 20 --gpu-threads 2 --queue 0 --no-submit-stale --gpu-engine 1070 --gpu-memclock 1600 --gpu-fan 75 --auto-fan --shaders 2048
But getting only 73Khash.
When I increase Intensity or thread concurrency I get HW error and GPU Failure.
What should I do?

Hello, I'm new to Utc I have invested a small amount so I guess theres a chance that my comment won't be taken seriously nevertheless I feel I have to make a comment, I have read through all the posts and feel I have acquired a understanding of how people are feeling, due to several problems that Utc has faced since its launch, to me it seems Utc has had various problems that I'm sure everyone is aware of, and so people are turning against each other and trying to find someone or something to blame for the coin's current predicament. On a number of occasions the word "Community" has been used, I don't doubt that there is a community, but there are also some people who have lost faith, there could be several reasons for this and I don't feel its for me to comment to the reasons why they feel that way. What I would suggest is that the people who still do have faith in Utc come together and focus on the issues that will take this coin to the next level I'm sure it won't be easy but feel it is still possible given the benefits the coin has to offer. I have noticed for example the official Utc forum is not being used, I'm not sure why that is. Its a place for the community to come together, with idea's and so on, so it seems that resource is not utilized. One member has suggested various promotions T-shirts etc which I feel is definitely a great idea, I"m sure with the amount of people involved other ideas can be brought to the table. We are where we are, and complaining won't change that reality, so I feel we have to move forward in order to progress this coin. As for mining I'm not experienced enough to comment, all I can say is we need miners, we need new buyers and we need to stay focused, as I said blaming each other or blaming exchanges will not help. New people will come to Utc if they feel it worth while and has a good community spirit. We all want to make some sort of profit but I feel focusing entirely on profit won't help either, as it's been said Utc is a long term investment, so I feel making it a fun and enjoyable experience for the community/investor is the way forward. Bumface is one of the devs, and its seems to me after reading several post that he's overwhelmed by the negativity, I would say for me at least he can be looked upon as our leader in a way, what he spends his money on is of no concern to me, I just would like him to continue to be proactive and do his best to promote Utc, which I'm sure he is. So finally I would say, the community needs to focus all its available resources on promotion and try and make Utc an enjoyable experience for all. Thanks for your time. Well said
