Has anyone done the math on how many DRK a master node will actually earn? Let's say per month.
At 5$ a Darkcoin its 130$ a month Really? 10 master nodes would earn $15600pa passive income at $5? And I think $5 is a very conservative price for DRK. Here is the math: 1x Masternode = 576 blocks * 10% of the reward = 1036DRK/day 8x Masternodes = (576/8) blocks * 10% of the reward = 129DRK/day 16x Masternodes = (576/32) blocks * 10% of the reward = 32DRK/day 128x Masternodes = (576/128) blocks * 10% of the reward = 8.1DRK/day This comes from Evans post on Masternodes payments. https://darkcointalk.org/threads/darkcoin-update-masternode-requirements-masternode-payments.225/And here you can see the current masternodes http://drk.poolhash.org/darksend.html

Problem with a variable requirement would be that maybe I have a masternode now and after 10 minutes it's not a masternode anymore.
I think 1k DRK currently is the right amount, but once 1DRK > $10 it's going to be a little bit costy to run a few masternodes.
Long term a vote system that allows people to vote the minimum amount and it changes every few weeks, not often, could be an amazing way to go, and in order to vote probably should be by solving blocks.
I'm sorry but voting is a bad idea, we've seen how it messes everything up and causes havoc. I would say the developers need to make that decision based on facts and how things are going. If there aren't enough masternodes, they need to lower the amount based on critical thinking. Masternode requirements are going to be 1000DRK forever, for the following reasons: - We need a bunch of masternodes, but more is NOT better. They cause chatter on the network saying they're still around and more memory usage everywhere. It's also more processing for the nodes to figure which to use. - We want them to be reasonable expensive to start now and insanely expensive down the line. - This will cause a feedback loop which will create upward pressure on price of darkcoin even making it more expensive to start one of these in the future (I detail this concept here: https://darkcointalk.org/threads/darkcoin-update-masternode-requirements-masternode-payments.225/) - Every client on the network needs to keep a list of all of these, we don't want a list of 100k - 10k masternodes @ $1000 is the same thing as 50k @ $200. The only difference is a lower barrier to entry and lower end equipment. In either case it would cost a million to add enough nodes to see half of the traffic. - Also the clients need to download this list upon booting up - There's also a consideration for the masternodes themselves. We have 576 blocks per day, If there's 10000 master nodes that means they'll on average get paid once every month and a half. I feel like if that number goes any higher we'll have nodes that won't want to wait to recoup their investment. Every time he speaks i know my money is in the right place

I was wondering if that pattern had a name! Bullish pattern followed by a breakout (price jump), according to the Google.

How does one create a Masternode for DRK? I haven't found this out yet, and there are too many pages of posts in this thread.

I will most likely be going the windows server route since I have a bunch of copies of 2003 laying around and a couple years working with it.
If you get a node running on Windows let me know because I can't.

About to hit 0.002 so let the profit taking by itchy trigger finger idiots begin, then back down to 0.00135 again. I wish we could come out of this cycle already. I hate hearing statements by other idiots claiming they are pumping this coin. What BS!

Maybe not this time. People will start to realise they need to accumulate multiples of 1000DRK to set up masternodes in time for incentive payments.

Is anyone running masternode in Azure successfully? Is it a problem that it has separate public and internal IP's? (I have the port 9999 forwarded.)
Also, I'm trying to run Windows masternode. I created a new empty wallet, sent 1000 DRK into it, encrypted it, and added these in the .conf:
connect=23.23.186.131 masternode=1
Then started the wallet, typed "masternode start mypasswordhere".
After these steps, should it be a masternode? Because I don't think it is, it doesn't show up in the list of masternodes.
When I type "masternode debug" in the debug window, it says "Missing masternode input, try running masternode create". When I type "masternode create" it says "Not implemented yet".
I'm not sure if it's that easy. I would love to know the answer to this. I'm trying to run a couple on windows myself. Have you tried an amazon AWS micro instance?
