In my opinion buying now is still very profitable because according to the chart at mintpal, there has not been any real pump in the last months so we are not buying at the top of a bubble right now.

Once a transaction has 6 confirmations, it is extremely unlikely that an attacker without at least 50% of the network's computation power would be able to reverse it.

is the 1000drk requirement already fixed or still open for discussion?

I think 1000 could be too much especially as we'll hit 10$ per coin soon Cheesy

Not open for discussion I believe.  The idea was to make the amount a barrier to entry to dissuade newbies from setting up nodes because the nodes require good security/ddos protection.

yeah I know, but it also helps to secure the network if there are a lot of nodes!

Already discussed. But if you want to buy 1k DRK, now is the time.

Unless I missed an update at some point, the intent is to periodically reevaluate the layout for a masternode as the value of the coin goes up or down.

No I think someone proposed to link the masternode's cost to the difficulty, so that this cost becomes a negative function of the difficulty. But that was just an idea.

I hope you guys don't get discouraged if profit-taking starts up again. The eventual potential of an anonymous coin is far above present valuations so in the long run it doesn't matter.

I don't even consider to sell even if it reaches $10 tomorrow. Some may think it's silly, but I believe in the long term and the time will tell who is right.

Is anyone running masternode in Azure successfully? Is it a problem that it has separate public and internal IP's? (I have the port 9999 forwarded.)

Also, I'm trying to run Windows masternode. I created a new empty wallet, sent 1000 DRK into it, encrypted it, and added these in the .conf:

connect=23.23.186.131
masternode=1

Then started the wallet, typed "masternode start mypasswordhere".

After these steps, should it be a masternode? Because I don't think it is, it doesn't show up in the list of masternodes.

When I type "masternode debug" in the debug window, it says "Missing masternode input, try running masternode create".
When I type "masternode create" it says "Not implemented yet".

Anyone know if their is a standalone Stratum_Proxy build that supports X11 mining - linux and windows would be useful.

Also, is their an existing windows p2pool build for Darkcoin ?

Looking to enable Darkcoin mining on a .onion address using p2pool over Tor.

Darksend is fine, although it seems logical that the only way to provide more comprehensive anonymity would necessitate being able to mine some Darkcoin pseudonymously and/or via a VPS or proxy / tunnel.

Still going to say MORE MASTERNODES please. The network should stand out making it impossible to duplicate down the road for any cloners.

My 10 masternodes are prepared but the binary client does not run on debian.
Please someone create some good static linked rc1 binary which works on debian too.

I'll do that for RC2

Agreed +1

No kidding. 39 minutes and still only 2 out of 3 confirms on Mintpal...

Just to join in on the griping, I finally got .01 bitcoin mined so I was sent a payment, I opened up Bitcoin wallet, and it decides it has to reindex!  Now I can't get at my puny .01 bitcoin to purchase my dark for...what?  Days?  Ugh!  LOL

electrum wallet! Doesn't store the blockchain locally. Plus excellent password seed system. Runs on anything with python, ie just about everything.

How does one setup 10 master nodes?  Would you not need to have 10 static IPs from your ISP to do this?

Or have you put 10 PCs behind a router and have given each pc a static ip?

What would be really cool is an email system as well.

Facebook, twitter, linkedin, etc...they all used email to grow their user base.  They linked to your email account and then got you to send connect messages to your contacts.

That's how to create a network effect.

Why not send an email saying 'Hi, I just sent you 10 DRK.....[with a footer saying] - If you don't have a wallet to access your money, you can download it from here.....and you will be able to access your eCash immediately'

Wow you are indeed a troll. What a brilliantly polished turd your waxing there... You don't understand DRK at all. LOL

Is that sarcastic?  I kinda think it's an interesting line of thought?  And you must be mixing coins101 up with someone else, he's been a great help Smiley

Any chance of the binary client being able to run on windows?  Or
Any chance anyone can make a BAMt type image file for a masternode that a user can just install via USB that already has most everything installed?

Will do. I'm now the proud owner of darkproxy.net (just registered) which will serve as a general web proxy to help promote Darkcoin, although I intend to introduce some innovative features on the sub-domains.

This will undoubtedly happen, hopefully direct from the devs. There is no such thing as idiot proof, but it would make cloud/VM installs a doddle. DDOS protection not included, you'd have to sort that and other security issues out yourself obviously.
