I am getting ready to smoke a bowl and buy some more DRK!  Grin

Please go back to the "don't bring a sword to a gun fight" picture that was posted a few pages back and give us your newly found unique perspective on it please.

I am as high as the price will be next year.

It may not have gone down very well, but building in an opt-in third party ID verification system into mobile darkcoin wallets could give it the edge in the future for mainstream adoption, even while using DarkSend....here is why:

http://bitcoinmagazine.com/12510/sir-richard-branson-wants-a-transparent-cryptocurrency-but-will-customers/

That article tells me that the author, Branson, Gates, and the other guy mentioned don't have a clue. Seriously, you have to be plain stupid to want MORE monitoring of your personal business by any self-proclaimed authority.

No, monitoring of us.....not them

Are you agreeing with me or disagreeing with me? Because I must caution you that one of those options is unwise!

edit: yikes, nethash >20GH and diff 1.12k.

opt-in, means not mandatory.

I would look at it like exchanges. If you want to get fiat in or out, you have to tell them who you are. With Darksend, none of the personal information is gathered or linked to the blockchain.

Basic math tells me that fiat isn't worth what it's printed on. The whole shambles is overdue for complete collapse.

i seriously believe within a few years with talent of the dev we could be in the hundreds maybe evan more.

I see what your typo did there...

I don't mean to be a fanboy, it's just that Evan knows how this is meant to be done. In a sea of ShitCoins, this is really the only one that makes sense. I put my money on the hopes that eventually that clue trickles up...

Betting on sound logic is not necessarily a sound investment when 99.9999999% of the human race is so damn stupid...

I'm thinking you missed the point. They're not talking about what they think is needed for everyone, they're talking about what they want for the 99+%, for us, the herd, not THEM, not billionaires and the rest of the elite.

Who says Darkcoin can't be both.  I've always like the idea of an ID signed currency because it means that the currency can be used for all the mainstream big money transactions like wire transfers to close on a house, or buy a car, or pay your property taxes or prove that you paid for a good or service.  And it would not be too hard to have Darkcoin provide both full anonymity AND full identity verification sending in the same currency.

My concern is that once it is possible, it is mandated... All crypto banned unless ID signing is a condition of performing ANY transaction...

It's fine and dandy when it's optional. But any potential restriction is unlikely to remain optional. Guvthugs.

You would simply have 1 Darkcoin wallet which is used like your Bank account with full identity linking.    And another Darkcoin wallet that you never linked to your id and you use Darksend for all your transactions.  They can't ban crypto.  The genie is already out of the bottle and the more we make Darkcoin easier to use in place of everyone's banking and credit card transactions, the more valuable holding a Darkcoin will be.

I would LOVE to hear what Andreas Antonopoulos has to say about Darkcoin!

I remember some interview where he adressed the missing Anonymity of Bitcoins as one of its few drawbacks

They can't ban crypto.

"They" can and will do anything "they" want. Whether or not it works, well, that's a different story. The fun thing about the law is "they" can make it say anything... "They" can ban gravity if "they" want to. It won't work, but you'll still end up in jail if you use gravity...

I don't know what drugs some of you are on but you should tell me so I can avoid them. Why the christ would you want a checkbox in your DRK wallet that says, "Yes please, rape me!"

Lets take the USP of DarkCoin and do a complete 180 on it! Brilliant idea lads!  Roll Eyes

Yeah like I said a couple times in the last few pages, make Darkcoin something my grandma can use and IMHO it'd be something unlike the crypto world has ever seen.

-Simple acquisition using credit card or paypal
-Idiot proof client

That said, I'm having a hard time getting my head around why you'd want to attach your real identity to a darksend.  Or are you talking about using darksend for certain things (where anonymity is desired), but using darkcoin in the open for others?

-Simple acquisition using credit card or paypal
This is up to exchanges. Exchanges are up to government regulation. Ease of acquisition is directly related to government regulation.

-Idiot proof client
There's always a bigger idiot.
