-Simple acquisition using credit card or paypal
This is up to exchanges. Exchanges are up to government regulation. Ease of acquisition is directly related to government regulation.

-Idiot proof client
There's always a bigger idiot.

Does a business that merely sells DRK for fiat (and not the other way around) count as an exchange?  When I was young and stupid (a few months ago) I made straight purchases of DOGE all the time from several shady sources because it was dead simple.  Hell I may not ever have gotten into cryptos at all if not for that.

Apple (and many other companies) makes complicated stuff relatively idiot proof all the time.  It's certainly not impossible.
The grue lurks in the darkest places of the earth. Its favorite diet is adventurers, but its insatiable appetite is tempered by its fear of light. No grue has ever been seen by the light of day, and few have survived its fearsome jaws to tell the tale.

Government agencies have declared their control over crypto now making it dangerous to do this anymore. I wouldn't sell face to face simply because, where I live, several people have been thrown in jail for doing it. Where I live, all crypto/fiat trades are considered money laundering.

Great talk. I watched this and stumbled across a more complete version. There's an interesting segment on the anonymity of bitcoin here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OQCEsOHKtbs#t=39m51s

I recommend watching the video in its entirety if you've got the time. He certainly know his stuff

Florida attacks anyone who tries to buy or sell crypto. I get a knock on my door every time I buy BTC on Coinbase. Nobody left in FL on localbicoins who isn't a cop that arrests anyone who shows up to buy.

Not officially. The State Attorney is a nut job. She's the one who wanted to ban Bath Salts and *declared* the Concealed Weapons Permit to be null and void. She's on a crusade filing money laundering charges against anyone who tries to buy or sell crypto. The only reason I haven't been arrested is because CoinBase is in California and out of FL jurisdiction.

None of my customers can figure out a way to buy BTC in Canada. I stopped shipping International because nobody can figure out how to get it in any country on the planet. Took BitPay off my website because it never gets used so why bother.

My concern is that once it is possible, it is mandated... All crypto banned unless ID signing is a condition of performing ANY transaction...

It's fine and dandy when it's optional. But any potential restriction is unlikely to remain optional. Guvthugs.

I can't see why anyone would be worried about something like this.  How on God's green earth is any government going to be able to enforce something like that?  crypto coins were designed so that no government or single entity could ban it, even in China they can't ban it.  They can only make it so that banks and exchanges in China aren't allowed to exchange for fiat, or that trading for fiat requires personal information.  Other than at the exit points, they can't do anything else.

Think your commercial OSes don't have backdoors? Where do those automatic updates come from? It's already done with PCI compliance in eCommerce. PCI has barely anything to do with data security.

With people so lazy and entertained, begging for government to run every aspect of their lives, it's only a few years away that it will be a felony to own a computer that isn't government controlled.

You're absolutely right. The only way they can control it is by going way too far, and they damn well will. Especially with over 95% of the planet's population begging for it.

Well there is the start of our improved ebay!  Just add bidding!  I hope we can use it for legit purposes!  That is, non illegal things.  I've got stuff I would love to sell, but ebay and paypal are too expensive to use.

You're right, I'm an eternal optimist.  I should know better, people are lazy and don't want to think and want to be cared for.  It's sad, but oh so true, as these past 6 years have shown us Sad

And the government will undoubtedly spend billions of our dollars chasing it's tail.
