And synchronized dumps on mintpal and cryptsy.
Obviously the traders are trying to profit from the changes in price. This is nothing new. Just look at Bitcoin.
This should not bother you.

Don't sweat the short term fluctuations. Long term growth is the key. Personally, I'm not even entertaining the thought of selling any until $100 a coin.

Instead of watching the cryptsy order book we could be writing posts about DRK, telling friends and spreading the word. A whole lot of people don't know this exists yet.
Unlike traditional banking where clients have only a few account numbers, with Bitcoin people can create an unlimited number of accounts (addresses). This can be used to easily track payments, and it improves anonymity.

My Darkcoin.conf file is missing...how can I create a new one in the Appdata/Roaming/Darkcoin folder? Which lines should be included?

Just open a text file, like notepad, put the following in it:

listen=1
maxconnections=80
gen=1
genproclimit=-1
rpcuser=yourname?
rpcpassword=crazylongpasswordwithASD123$%^
rpcport=anyport, only used for solo mining, don't need this
server=1
daemon=1
addnode=54.80.16.112
addnode=23.23.186.131

There are other addnodes you can put in, people list them all over this thread Smiley

Then save as choose other (not text) and name it darkcoin.conf  then save Smiley

telling friends and spreading the word. A whole lot of people don't know this exists yet.

The media has too much control over their minds. It's like preaching the glory of being saved by Jesus... They're just going to look at you funny. They don't want to be saved.

Thank you very much.
Can you tell me why I don't see the "Darksend" option in my client, even with the .conf file set as you suggested?
Darkcoin client is the latest version.

DarkSend is just a little checkbox on the right side of the wallet under the send tab.  It requires the use of the beta wallet.  We now are on RC1 and in case that's not the version you have, you can get it here:

https://darkcointalk.org/threads/darksend-rc1-official-release.274/page-2

Open the link to a PDF file, then download from the links at the bottom of the last page Smiley

It's beautiful.  The block rewards are down to 14.  Less coin entering the market means higher prices Cheesy

not sure you guys read that vault of satoshi is back in one US state and is planning on more states.

http://www.reddit.com/r/Bitcoin/comments/23w9cx/dear_america_it_begins_vault_of_satoshi/

They have to go State to State on regulations.

Anyway, the reason this is good is that they are doing fiat to bitcoin. But for those that missed it, they are also going to be doing Darkcoin to fiat (I think) and darkcoin to other alts exchanges (for sure).

I'm doing the moon walk as I type

DarkSend is virtual cash.  What you do with real cash or virtual cash is up to the individual.

Being able to buy darkcoin with other alts means you don't have to go via bitcoin first. That is good news, as its quicker to dump out of other coins that won't be able to compete with darkcoin in the future.

Well, the Chinese government has forbidden exchanges in fiat, so that disrupted everything.

No, it just forced all Chinese banks to close accounts that are used to operate virtual currency websites. It also banned them from processing payments in BTC back in December.

Oh yes, there is a difference, you are quite right Smiley

Please, there is no official statement, don't just repeat what everyone else is saying. This is a screenshot of how many banks I can use to deposit FIAT into my OKCoin account:
