Is there a way to block certain nodes?
Since weeks I have desynchronisation problems with DarkCoin Wallets. They lose Synchronisation every now and then and try to synchronize with blockchains of a few 100k
I believe it is because they share the protocol identification key with LiteCoin. They use the same ID but shouldn't. I made a post about it in here some days in the past but from the non reaction others have probabily more luck not hitting troubleing nodes.
So I wonder can I block some specific nodes because it looks to me it's always the same 2 or 3 nodes causing me trouble. And yes I deleted all peer data and everythign a number of times. It doesnt help.
Its the same issue with the released and with the rc client.
Which os do you use ? do 'darkcoind getpeerinfo' check ip address and subver. deny version under 0.9.1 using route. http://mayur.gondaliya.com/computer-networks/creating-a-null-route-341.htmlAnd remove deny once a day. I use iptables to deny following subver client. (rule deleted once a day) /Satoshi2:0.8.6.2/ /Satoshi:0.8.6.1/ /Satoshi:0.8.6.2/ /Satoshi:0.8.6.3/ /Satoshi:0.8.8/ /Satoshi:0.8.9.2/ /Satoshi:0.8.9/ /Satoshi:0.9.0/
And following rule deny Litecoin and Worldcoin dnsseeder. https://darkcointalk.org/threads/why-litecoinseeder-and-worldcoinseeder-try-to-check-darkcoin-nodes.263/-A INPUT -i eth0 -s 37.59.24.61 -p tcp -m tcp --dport 9999 -j REJECT --reject-with tcp-reset -A INPUT -i eth0 -s 66.178.182.35 -p tcp -m tcp --dport 9999 -j REJECT --reject-with tcp-reset -A INPUT -i eth0 -s 94.242.209.124 -p tcp -m tcp --dport 9999 -j REJECT --reject-with tcp-reset -A INPUT -i eth0 -s 162.243.12.248 -p tcp -m tcp --dport 9999 -j REJECT --reject-with tcp-reset -A INPUT -i eth0 -s 162.243.24.177 -p tcp -m tcp --dport 9999 -j REJECT --reject-with tcp-reset -A INPUT -i eth0 -s 176.31.186.58 -p tcp -m tcp --dport 9999 -j REJECT --reject-with tcp-reset -A INPUT -i eth0 -s 178.79.171.106 -p tcp -m tcp --dport 9999 -j REJECT --reject-with tcp-reset -A INPUT -i eth0 -s 188.165.223.132 -p tcp -m tcp --dport 9999 -j REJECT --reject-with tcp-reset -A INPUT -i eth0 -s 198.199.69.98 -p tcp -m tcp --dport 9999 -j REJECT --reject-with tcp-reset

I am on windows 8 on the most systems. Thank you I will check. Glad to see in your second link that at least one other has stumpled over this problem too. I already wondered why no one else is affected. Everyone should be affected from this. I think a lot of DRK holders will be retiring from their jobs in about 2 months. I'm also considering buying an island.

Great Well, I bought on top of the curve (now) but I think this coin has potential.

First time I'm so nervous when trading a coin... I want to buy low / sell high but also have to deal with the worrying about being locked out and the price levels going much higher. I suppose that's what you get when you are a long-term coin "believer" (in contrast with not giving a f*** about the future prospects where getting locked out is not an issue).

15 DarkCoin $ 4,624,873 $ 1.12 4,129,128 DRK $ 331,239 +51.23 % 16 Feathercoin $ 4,539,424 $ 0.11 40,815,650 FTC $ 26,790 -0.88 %
Early days. Still plenty of growth ahead for those not yet on board. It is certainly possible, although I think that 1B is a bit too high.

1B is too far stretched, more like 10M at first, and 100M with whales assist

We are already half way there, and we have 7 months left till the end of 2014. That seems a bit low in this case.

That seems a bit low in this case. voting points to around $175m. that is possible given that ASICs will impact many GPU miners and other coins won't be able to offer anonymity as part of their payment protocol. Money will rotate out of other alts into next gen anonymity coins.

mine hasn't updated for 4 hours Mine stays up to date (so far) but I've noticed it spends a LOT more time syncing than any other qt wallet I've used.
