24K buy-order on Poloniex just moved from 0.0160000 to 0.01640000

Someone wants his coins  Grin

And it's gone.  It was taken down it looks like.

This is troubling...obvious market manipulation? What the hell is going on with this dude?
He just wanted to sell some...

Not dangerous at all, because most of the coins are locked in masternodes, and you can track big movements pretty easily by tracking their count.

This is a proud day for me, as my suggestion to streamline the Dash wallet with the descriptive terms PrivateSend and InstantSend has been accepted and implemented:

This will make it much easier for newbs to understand the purpose of each function.

I am looking for a story for my blog.

Do you have a link or links to discussions about this topic about PrivateSend and InstantSend?
I can write a brief blog post about this, a kind of introduction to newcomers to dash.
Some kind of easy explanation will do fine, I think.

If someone has already written a story or blog post about this, I can repost it,
and give attribution and links to the original author(s). This would be the easier way for me.

pm me or post here to help me find the info for the story, thank you Smiley

This is a link to the discussion and (non-binding) vote we had on the subject:

https://www.dash.org/forum/threads/non-binding-wallet-terms-vote.8715/

Well...almost 2700000 coins are out of masternodes and valuable in 43200 bitcoins at 0.016 dash price, so...

Actually "coins locked in masternodes" are not that "locked" really and can be moved as easy as any other coins. Coins "locked" in masternodes are just "doing some work" i.e. generating income for the holder while coins in bitcoin or in any other pow currency just do nothing but sitting still in someone's wallets.

Anybody notice all the commotion on dash forums? Seems like we got quite a few upset individuals about the DGBB system. Trying to get a better idea of what's going on if anybody has any insights.

Well, here is the short version. There was an incident on the Public Dash Slack channel that caused me and a few others to bring a conversation on DashTalk about where everyone in our organization stands. What are the roles of the core team, masternodes, professional contributors and community?

It got pretty heated at times with some people questioning the other's motives unneccessarily, but despite personal attacks, the thread actually became quite useful and helpful with everyone more willing to consider other's perspectives. We reached a consensus and clarification on people's roles in Dash.

But, just when that thread was winding down, someone took it a step further, starting a new thread calling for new direction and leadership. He is not getting much support for his plan, for obvious reasons, such as the success of Dash thus far.

So, that's where we are now.

Basically the dash.org forums are ridden with trolls that nobody will ban. I gave up on those forums months ago.

P.S. If I had to guess, there are probably many who either don't visit anymore or who visit very infrequently. The irony is that the people who ostensibly want more communication are actually driving away the people with whom they wish to communicate.

I see the presence of trolls there - and here - as inevitable. Banning might work in some cases, but others would just evolve subtler techniques to avoid being banned. Cat and mouse.

DASH will threaten various entrenched interests as it grows and prospers. They will push back in various ways - potentially very ugly. The challenge, imho, is to make DASH robust at the protocol level, so no variants of smear, lies, innuendo, trolling, FUD, propaganda - all the usual stuff - can damage it.

I don't think they have even noticed DASH yet in the big leagues. When they do, the issues will escalate:

- 5 minute block target
- 6 Confirms per transaction
- Difficulty re-targets every 60 minutes
- Block reward controlled by moores law ( 1111 / (diff+1 ^ 2))
- 11 chained hashing algorithms
- Premine: 0%

Since the reward is variable and depends on the difficulty, is there a maximum amount of coins to be mined? A maximum amount of blocks?

Yes, the max coin amount is 84,000,000

Evan confirms that max coin amount is 84,000,000

Wow! We are nearly at 6,500,000 million Xcoins or Darkcoins or Dash if you will/as you wish.
That's over threefold the instamine.

And it gets even better. Evan Duffield is asking for experienced C++ developpers in the Bitcoin mailing list.

That means, he has another great project in the pipeline!

So perfectly put.  I used to spend hours there, was getting involved then realized how upset it was all making me.

Er, that's this project. I just decided to do like an open-source not-for-profit. I was going to run it like etherium when I first started and decided to decentralize it further ( e.g, no external/centralized funding, no centralized companies which own everything, etc)

This could be really cool as a tool after 12.2, we can make all of the network data available to us in a database, then query locally using MYSQL.

https://www.periscopedata.com/ab?source=quantcast&ad=so-300x250

Imagine graphing stats like Payments Per hour, Account Creations Per Hour, etc. We can track the activities on the network pretty well with something like this.
