Barlow’s Legacy - A Declaration of the Independence of Cyberspace

“Governments of the Industrial World, you weary giants of flesh and steel, I come from Cyberspace, the new home of Mind. On behalf of the future, I ask you of the past to leave us alone. You are not welcome among us. You have no sovereignty where we gather.”

So begins “A Declaration of the Independence of Cyberspace” by John Perry Barlow [1]. Fully intending to have the tonal ring of the US Declaration of Independence [2], Barlow threw a stake in the ground declaring that the Internet was ours (the public’s) and not yours (the government’s). It was written as a response to the passage of the Communication Decency Act of 1996 in the US, an act that put a great deal of power and control over the Internet into the hands of relatively few oligarchs [3].

…if you have not done so already, stop what you are doing and read his paper now (it’s short)…

as I saw on masternode.pro that fee to run master node too expensive, and profit is so little. Sad(
why DASH still has so much nodes?
didn't use this coin before, but saw it through a advertising on youtube that they got the biggest nodes network.
this got potential but ya, ... this might be at the top right now
Syscoin will probably be the next coin with the highest liquidity to roi ratio of any masternode coin. Ive also coded up a seniority system which increases roi based on how long you bond your coins and also split network fees in half with masternodes (dash gives them to miners alone). Whatever udjinm6 comes up with next i think we should work together to solve i feel it will serve the interest of crypto in general to do so. I have lots of ideas how to leverage L2 to help with scaling blockchain to enterprise levels. In fact im going to talk about this exact thing at polycon18 end of this month.

If you feel a need to promote other cryptocurrencies on our Dash forum, then please do it in the right place --> https://www.dash.org/forum/topic/alternative-currencies.12/

Its an open forum pls put this in op so people can abide to your house rules. Anyways thanks for the info and I will go there when I find time. I do want to sync up with your developers to see how we can improve L2.

Coinbase Users Significantly Overcharged in Processor Mixup

Over the past week, Coinbase’s reddit thread was flooded with complaints of users being exceedingly overcharged causing some to even have their accounts drained and shut down.

Concerned and frantic users posted their issues to only be answered by support technicians that said they were aware of the issue and looking into it further. Users that were charged tens of thousands more than approved wanted reassurances that a refund would made soon. Even then, a straight refund may not cover all expenses if accounts were drained to the point where low fees and late charges were assessed on users’ bank accounts and bills.

Dash's prices have been sideways for days and strangely not much voices there. All this explains that another round of accumulation for other increase is being done silently by big players. I was thinking for few days after daily reviewing its price. It is sitting at perfect floor from where double price will be recorded once again.

Dash is perfect for big players, anon, masternodes, high volume, many exchanges, etc...

Dash Community Activist Playbook

Dash has a rich ecosystem including a large development team and quite a few major projects under its funding system, and its future is therefore quite well-handled. However, there are plenty of ways the average user can get involved in helping the project out, even without actively working for Dash or submitting a proposal.

1: Use Dash
Spend and receive Dash as often as possible. The best way to secure the long-term value of your investment is to increase its use as an everyday currency. That starts with you. Spend Dash for as many things as you can. The easiest place to start is BitCart, where you can buy anything off of Amazon.com at a 15% discount, including a wide array of gift cards for different services. Use DiscoverDash for the full array of Dash spending options.

This extends to receiving Dash as money as well. Offering to be paid in Dash for goods and services goes a long way. The easiest solution is probably to get your salary in Dash via Uphold’s Bitwage integration.

If all this draws down your Dash reserves that you would rather be holding on to, then buy more Dash. You keep the level of your investment, provide more demand to exchanges, and grow Dash’s economy, and thereby its value.

Edge Secure Wallet Review

Features
The Edge wallet is relatively feature-rich, especially for a wallet focusing on ease of use. Its foremost feature is its simple username and password login setup. This includes a 2FA and security question recovery setup, as well as seed words for individual wallets. While a little different from most wallets, this setup is much more intuitive and accessible to regular users, and is more familiar to users of banking apps and other current services. In a way, this achieves one of the biggest successes possible at this stage in cryptocurrency: good experience while giving the user full control over their funds at all times.

In addition to Dash, the wallet supports the most prominent cryptocurrencies: Bitcoin (Segwit and normal), Bitcoin Cash, Ethereum, and Litecoin, as well as the Wings and Augur REP tokens. ShapeShift is supported in the app, meaning users can easily switch currencies for each other. The wallet also supports displaying amounts in smaller denominations such as mDash, as well as categories and notes for individual transactions in order to keep streamlined bookkeeping. Unfortunately, the app doesn’t include InstantSend functionality, meaning the standard Dash wallets are more useful to those who don’t care as much about other coin support.

IMPORTANT UPDATE

Bitcointalk moderator mprep https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=profile;u=51173

Has sent me a moderator warning to remove every Dash Force News banner from every post I've ever made within 72 hours or be banned from bitcointalk. This warning was prompted and instigated by complaints from Monero troll iCEBREAKER.

Here: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=2987727.msg30719202#msg30719202

and here: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1453109.msg30664388#msg30664388

This is a very low and desperate tactic from a notorious Dash troll / stalker.

I replied that I would be happy to remove banners providing he bans iCEBREAKER from Dash thread.

I'm really saddened by these moderator actions and extreme nature of warning. I'm only guilty of sharing Dash news and updates providing a service welcomed by Dash community.

iCEBREAKER has been provoking and antagonizing Dash community for years. He is free to troll, spread hate and FUD about Dash will full support from bitcointalk moderators.

It doesn't seem very justified or fair that someone that intentionally wanting to cause maximum damage and upset to community have moderator support over an indiviudal that is doing good and serving community.

So Dash community I ask you. Who you would you rather be banned from this Dash Thread?

NibiruHybrid or iCEBREAKER?

Yep their spam is out of control. Are you even allowed to reply to your own topic over and over without any interest or input from the rest of the board.

Even more annoying is that they are obvious zealots for the instatmined scam coin dash and only ever post about this scam.

Their views and posts are obviously biased to the point of worthless. I mean you don't need to read anything they post. Just buy their scam coins is the blatant message here. They have no interest in anything else in crypto only pumping their dash scam coins.

Not saying they are horrible people but their misplaced enthusiasm for the scam that is dash is oppressive to the board when you have 2 or 3 spamming dash threads running full time of the first page of the main board.

These mini new announcements for enticing honeypot scam features need to be confined to their ANN.

No other coin comes and spams the main board like DASH does.

I feel the only way to put them off if we can not get them banned is to bump all the other threads highlighting their scammy past.

There are 5 or 6 huge threads investigating and fully publishing the proof that is was a scam from the start. These need to be placed back on the first page of the main board and remain there whilst this spamming from tao and qwizzie et al remains.

return to the darkness from whence you came

Spams and scams not welcome here stick to your ANN thread. We're all stocked up on dash scam spam here.

Yes this post is spam and scam heavy - hopefully google will soon just display all the dash threads the moment scam in entered. It is becoming synonymous with spam now not only scam.

IMPORTANT SUPER-SALTY UPDATE

Butthurt NibiruHybrid or Based iCEBREAKER?

I didn't write our forum's rules.  Theymos wrote our forum's rules, including the ones you chose to violate:

Ads are typically not allowed in posts (outside of the signature area) because they are annoying and off-topic. It is especially disallowed to put ads or signatures at the bottom of all of your posts. Except for traditional valedictions, which are tolerated but discouraged, signatures are for the signature area only.

You were asked to follow the rules.  You refused to follow the rules.

This isn't about me.  This is about Dash paidshills like you refusing to follow the rules written by our sysop.

Shooting the messenger isn't an appropriately mature response to being told to follow the forum rules or suffer the Banhammer.

TaoOfSpamToshi thought he could flout our forum rules, but he was wrong.

SoloSpamKid also thought he could flout our forum rules, but he was equally wrong.

You aren't the first or even the second annoying Dash paidshill to inflict astroturf spamvertising crapfloods here.  We've all seen this movie before; you're not that special.  Just another trivial obstacle for me to crush, pulverize, and melt into constituent salt water.
