Doge will collapse sometime in the next year.

Listen, I don't care if you're Warren Buffet or Jimmy Buffet, nobody knows what the Doge price is going to do.

Nobody really knows, but some of us are pretty confident about our guesses.

Are you confident enough to put up 1/10 BTC on an even-odds bet?  I will cheerfully bet at even odds that the price of Doge (assuming they don't restructure their mining subsidy) will lose 50% or more of its value (as measured in Bitcoin) by 21 January 2015.

To the op, why rip into people like this, if u don't like something don't talk about it or all ya doing is advatising it. Don't get me wrong I'm surprised dogecoin has lasted this long and I for one don't see it as an investment. But I have to give credit where credit is due an even if its nothing but crap there've got a lot of people convinced its a good thing.

ripping into people or stating the truth while i am being trolled ?
i have taken a beating and put up with unending abuse over this topic alone
lets drop the playing victim game..
want me to do up a show case of the vicious and vulgar nasty crap people attacked me with on this topic ?
and yet i have still stayed with the same tone and attitude through out..

you know you guys would get further in things if you quit reading in between the lines at forum topics (in an attempt to discredit quality comments)
trying to find some "tone" to chastise people about and instead just focus on talking about the topic at hand.
is that too much to ask ?

i am entitled to bash this dumb clone coin all i want and everything i said about is the honest truth.. deal with it.

same old games..
no retort ? try and attack troll and cause a diversion and discredit etc

Want to talk about Doge ? Then let's do it lol
I have some.. so should i keep them ? ..are they going to be worth a fortune one day ?

It's funny to watch how noobs continue jumping into this shitcoin and the price continues going down.

They have been saying "Cheap coins, time to buy!" since 130. Now ~46 and still falling...

Worthless coins are worthless.

Only masses of dumb newcomers are making this coin alive. It's only loosing value, market cap, even subscribers in their subreddit, but psssst, you can't talk about it, cause it's FUD truth. ASIC manufacturers have a great business from this, cause many people are convinced to buy them to "save" dogecoin, or something like that. They have no future plan, no vision, their only goal is "to the moon". What that is? To replace bitcoin? Or litecoin? Keep dreaming. It's just another copy-paste script PoW coin without anything special, except for a meme dog. It's attracting noobs who believe that tomorrow they will become rich with thousands of doge in their wallets. Their developers are lazy, without any ideas what to do next. They repeat their propaganda over and over until everyone believes in it, every other opinion is dismissed and censored. When price started do go down, it was bitcoins fault, then it was multi-pools fault and now they have new argument - this is the true value, before this it was overvalued. Can you believe this shit?

With merged mining it may raise up a bit from current value but until they set a cap on total coins it will just keep going down as more coins dilute the value.

Whatever happened to Doge getting into MMOs?

Wait it never happened.  Look like they spent all their money to advertise during the Olympics (except no one on TV mentioned Doge funded that team) and that Nascar driver.  Why Nascar?  Not to stereotype but you were advertising a digital currency to the wrong people and I shouldn't have to explain why. . .

The real reason Doge died was probably because the early birds dumped to get their millions out (the inflation being encouragement).

I find it laughable that many upcoming coins plan inflation but inflation simply doesn't work imo (even 1% inflation will convince large holders to dump.  1% of $10 million is $100K lost).

There ain't no Revolution like a NEMolution.  The only solution is Bitcoin's dissolution! NEM!

interesting replies.

@hbadger
i agree with you ..new guys should avoid it period.
i always heard form guys who ran exchanges etc that Doge will bring in new users..
to get other coins sure LOL
and think about the endless positive's if they had paraded around the internet advertising any decent altcoin like say PrimeCoin
or hell even Bitcoin.

it's just all raging blood thirst greedy rabid bag holder bullshit.
they wanted to pump it as high as it would go so they could dump as planned and walk leaving the idiots holding the bag.

it died because it was a fucking piece of shit clone coin with a dog meme icon.. THAT is why !
and the dipshit devs who started it are MASS COIN CLONERS who got lucky with Doge so they tried to make their scam legit.
It's a classic routine long before Doge came up.. they hang around here hitting us "pray and spray" style
and when one seems like it's going to pick up in popularity they hustle into dummy service mode and start *trying to prop up it's legitimacy
with fake / token services etc.
The Doge dev is a coin cloning little cunt who got lucky.. many of you prob have no idea he is responsible for a million faggy shit coins here.
and doesn't that matter ? think about it..

People in this scene are greedy fucking maggots .
If Hitler was alive and he wanted a to do a coin that would support killing Jews idiots here would dive on it because he's a house hold name and it's gonna be big.
Like Max Coin  Roll Eyes
Pedo coin ? no problem.. i can make 1.2.2.3.43 BTC off of it !
meanwhile..
Professional money players around the glove see the fucktard exchanges and pools and coin cloners and scam coin supporters
and leave.. well except some of the scammers we have here that won't let up of course lol
cough cough Etherium. Steller, Ripple etc etc

Merged Mining ?
i seen a guy named FreeJack say this at Coindesk earlier and it makes sense to me..
Quote
Dogecoin's network currently has 6% of the hashrate that Litecoin's does. Given this fact, if a substantial number of large Litecoin pools adopt merged mining of Dogecoin, that will concentrate the vast majority of the Dogecoin block rewards into the hands of miners with no interest in holding it...whereas currently, a much larger percentage of Dogecoin miners are doing so because of a desire to support the coin's network and coin (at a personal financial loss). The price is likely to be taking a further beating. Potential investors should be aware of this impending increase in sell-side pressure.

Doge getting into MMOs?
never heard of that before.

What do you expect from a masked coin cloner ? the fucking douche and anyone who helped him are greedy dick heads..
Does even one person on earth think this shit coin was intended from the beginning to be anything other than a Pump and Dump scam coin.
and fuck ya i say SCAM coin !
Because when they have NO intention of supporting a long term currency and
they feed everyone bullshit on day one about the future etc then it's a trick..
AKA: a fucking scam !
Look up the definition of "scam" guys.. most of these shit coins are straight up deceptive scams.

Dogecoin use for online tipping (a form of respect for social action that is considered good and creative) has gained popularity. Dogecoin also attracted the attention of people because it is easy to extract (generate Dogecoin process using computation-intensive). While Bitcoin mining is a complex and intensive process, even requiring specialist mining tools and a dedicated mining center (like the one in Hong Kong). However, for Dogecoin, almost everyone can be mining it.

I have been saying this long time, this "Dogy style" is bad for Coins, their only advantage was they had good marketing team, had they promoted a professional name coin like Virtual Coin X11, Prime Coin, World Coin etc, it would have benefit coin image.

Imho, cryptocurrency needs a solid technical/economic foundation which DOGE never started with. The dev team lacked foresight and were incompetent at decision-making, should've merged mining months ago when DOGE was stronger but instead they listened to a majority who had rudimentary (at best) knowledge of cryptocurrency. The cream of the crop (collectively known as old guard/serious shibes) left the community afterwards when their attempts to steer the coin towards a better path was dismissed as FUD. A huge loss of intellect, knowledge and experience migrated off and the downward spiral began till present as more people are realizing (with a little research) that the coin has no direction due to the community.

The worst part of the coin though is that they keep deluding themselves that everything is alright and "moon bound" will happen in the long-term. I don't think the coin will drop to $0 mind you, but presently it stands a very high chance it will slip out of the top 10 in the short-term without drastic changes. I'm not convinced their dev team is up to the challenge, but again, the community is "discussing" it. They have to compete with so many others in a fast-pace changing environment but their only trump card is a dwindling active community, iirc Reddcoin has surpassed them in tipping and I've spotted a lot of ex-shibe converts.

Community is a double-edged blade, listening to the majority who only listen to their prominent members and buying into the positive spin they spread isn't helping the coin. Some of my favorites:

We had 40-50 Gh/s hashrate months ago (Total Scrypt hash was 200-250 Gh/s and 1/6th of LTC) and we have 40-50Gh/s in July (Total Scrypt is now 750+ Gh/s and 1/15th of LTC). Dogecoin is stable! 80-85% is multipool fyi.
Coingecko.com lists us as #2 coin out there.
AuxPoW isn't merged mining (He had to delete after his embarassment): http://www.reddit.com/r/dogecoin/comments/2ci90m/dogecoin_to_enable_auxpow_soon_all_infos_inside/cjfx2sw

I've always felt a healthy dose of reality would do the coin some good, it was great that the looming 51% security threat motivated the community to open their eyes but it may be too late already. I won't make predictions though, but it's going to be an uphill battle for them only made worse by poor decision making. I feel sorry for some of the businesses who held the coins at 100+ down till now and the bagholders who can only hold onto their coins because of the initial P&D but it's just another lesson for the general public to know what you're buying into. DOGE certainly has a good portion of the general public with no knowledge who got into crypto so the lessons will be good for them if they continue with cryptocurrency.

I thought Dogecoin was only for fun, but it seems to be popular. And I found this article:

"Dogecoin to Allow Litecoin Merge Mining in Network Security Bid

The dogecoin development team has announced that it will soon enable auxiliary proof-of-work (AuxPoW), allowing merge-mining with litecoin that will address concerns over the altcoin’s future." -- Full story: http://www.coindesk.com/dogecoin-allow-litecoin-merge-mining/

yeah EXACTLY as i said a dummy service tacked on to a piece of shit clone pump and dump coin.. nothing more.
i JUST finished fucking saying i have sat here for a year watching these guys do this like a broken record... long before 75% of you all got here LOL
and you guys are fools you eat up the bs..

give your heads a shake ..WAKE UP !
you think Doge coin was created for the intention of being a long term currency ? ..of course not.
and then look at what happened when it came out.. and WHEN !
it was nothing but another clone coin in the seas of them posted here during the Altcoin height of popularity.
it's not quite a bait and switch situation as it is "pray and spray" with clone coins..
when one clone seems to be getting bigger than the rest they quickly rush to try and legitimize it.
this is a tired old game that has been playing out here all along.

Of course it was not created with the intention of being a long term currency. But that's the beauty of open-source, decentralized currencies; the community can do whatever they want with it.

If enough users want to support it so it can survive long-term, there's nothing that can stop it.
