And shares are being reported as accepted, too. It's working then!

We have added Stratum support to BTC pool. So now we have stratum in BTC, LTC, TRC !
1. Please use latest versions of following miners: cgminer, bfgminer, guiminer, poclbm <br /> 2. Stratum mining is available in the following pools:
BTC = coinotron.com:3333 LTC = coinotron.com:3334 TRC = coinotron.com:3335
3. Share difficulty may differ from main getwork pool.

Will you be adding Stratum to the remaining pools, too?

Will you be adding Stratum to the remaining pools, too? Lets take a look at figures: PPC pool has 30 stales / 6000 shares ie 0.5%, FRC 0 stales / 10000 shares = 0.0% I don't think stratum will improve much effectiveness of those pools. Of course we will introduce stratum when we observe significant performance degradation.

I am having a problem with the BTC shares. No matter how I configure my miners, your site is not giving me my shares. I currently have only one GPU mining on cgminer for testing, here is the config; cgminer -o stratum+tcp://coinotron.com:3333 -u modcom.mc1b -p xxxx --shaders 1408 -I 12 -g 1 -w 64 I show approx 300Mh'/s, you site shows about the same. But no shares that are being accepted are increasing my share counter. I have been trying to get this up and running for the last day to no avail. I tried guiminer as well, still no luck on share counts. I feel as though I’m giving away my shares, because your pool site is not recording them. At one point I pointed all my miners at your site, for BTC, showing 1.9 Gh/s and still no BTC shares were being recorded in my account.
Any and all help would be appreciated.

I may be able to give you somewhat of an answer until coinotron gives a more definitive one. I have noticed when I am mining alt coins at coinotron the counters update every few minutes. But I have noticed when mining BTC that the counters take a long time to update. You're still getting credit, it just isn't showing.

Charlie Kelly: I'm pleading the 5th. The Attorney: I would advise you do that. Charlie Kelly: I'll take that advice under cooperation, alright? Now, let's say you and I go toe-to-toe on bird law and see who comes out the victor? The Attorney: You know, I don't think I'm going to do anything close to that and I can clearly see you know nothing about the law. 19GpqFsNGP8jS941YYZZjmCSrHwvX3QjiC

Yes, my mistake. I was thinking about stales Anyway, corrected. Regarding 2% reject rate, please find out my question on cgminer's thread and following messages. Problem seems to be related to cgminer. Author is hopefully investigating this issue. https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=28402.msg1500519#msg1500519

BTC rewards are calculated every 3 hours. Other coins every 2 minutes. That is probably the reason of you not seeing changes in your balance. Few months ago rewards in BTC pool were calculated using DGM method. It was affecting pool's performance, so I introduced this 3 hours refreshing period. Anyway, I changed refreshing period to 10 min.

FYI Week after introduction of Stratum LTC pool: 35% of LTC miners use stratum Average efficiency = 99.5 % ( getwork 97.5%) Some miners have got high rate of rejected shares (2%-3%). It is probably related to bug in cgminer I've reported it to cgminer developer ckovalis: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=28402.msg1500519#msg1500519New version 2.10.5 improves things a little bit, but doesn't eradicate it. However there are miners who have almost 0% rejected shares and are using cgminer. Maybe problem is caused by too high cgminer's settings ?

Dear coinotron,
I'm using stratum proxy with reaper to mine LTC. It is working well, however, the difficulty is never increasing above 16. Isn't difficulty supposed to change dynamically? If so, how is this accomplished?
Thanks,
rustyh17

Hey rustyh17 Currently difficulty is not variable. It is 16 for all miners. Best regards PS Variable diff will be introduced in future.

I'm getting the 2% stales with cgminer and stratum. How do you use stratum with Reaper v13? I couldn't find any information on it...
Hope it gets fixed soon. 2.10.5 doesn't seem to make any difference to me.

There is special version of Reaper made by Balthazar : https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=92522.msg1417172#msg1417172It should work, but I didn't test it.

We have started NovaCoin pool.
Remarks: - port 9322 or 8322 - you should use cgminer with --scrypt option - currently only getwork protocol is supported - payouts are disabled until we are sure that everything works correctly.

Are you providing this on SHA256D or scrypty or both. Do you need any details to setup or are you all good. What are the pool diff going to be for each one or one or the other as you can mine both with them as they have sha and scrypt with both been 2 separate difficult
