sweet if we are cryptsy too then this is a very good sign as to the perceived legitimacy of heavycoin in the altcoin world.

bitcoin seems to be recovering so i'm sure all the alts will recover, HVC more than most hopefully because it's better than most. Soon it will be business as usual. The problem is nobody wants to part with their bitcoin for fear that they will a) lose money if it keeps depreciating and they get rid in a downtrend, b) because to trade it for other alts means their continual downtrend linked to bitcoin and c) the knock on effect is very low volume which stagnates recovery and leads idiots to panic sell for fear that the whole crypto market may dissappear into nothing of value.

Not yet. You can't give a clear answer before 15 April.

Guys,

still struggling with heavycoin cgminer under bamt, mining does not start.

I took cgminer.conf from zhpool help section, there is "kernel" : "heavy, heavy, heavy", in the config, but it looks like my heavy cgminer (code from https://github.com/reorder/cgminer_skein) does not like it: "Invalid config option --kernel: Invalid parameter to set_kernel".

I debugged a bit the set_kernel function in https://github.com/reorder/cgminer_skein/blob/skein/driver-opencl.c it seems that USE_HEAVY is not defined in the project. Anything I should do at compile time?
(currently simply using ./autogen.sh --enable_opencl then make)

thanks

How many cards do you have?

"heavy, heavy, heavy" would be for 3 cards

"heavy,heavy" for 2, etc

Not surprised, even a rumour of Cryptsy was always going to stir it up! I wonder if it hits Cryptsy how high would the price go, there would surely be more demand for coins than there is supply right now?

Email sent to Mulah Smiley

Answer from them:

Hi there,
Thanks for your email! I'll pass it on to management for consideration!

Have a great night!
***********************

Thank you Simko, keep them flowing, Moolah has received at least 10+ emails to my knowledge. Let's see if we can overwhelm them with our requests. Once Moolah is complete I won't have to stress so much about merchant adoption.

Very true, I'm not sure there is enough supply honestly, Cryptsy has some btc tycoons that could easily gain a large stake in HVC. Vern would be silly not to have Heavycoin it's like finding a diamond in a pile of iron pyrite.

Yup, forgot to tell, 3 GPU rigs (R9 280X). I believe the .conf is ok, however from what I can see, the cgminer binary is not setting the heavy "mode".
I have to look more in the source, I was hopping someone could know why USE_HEAVY doesn't seem to be defined at compilation.
