Suchmoon can I get a list of users who earned more than 50 merit on the Local Arabic board whom I haven't merited (excluding altcoins section) , and if that brings an empty list please change the number of merit earned to 10.

Thank you.

I apologize for taking so long with this request. My life over the last week was a reenactment of Planes, Trains & Automobiles. And buses but no bicycles. Finally got back to my home PC.

I'm assuming you meant to exclude the Arabic altcoins board. Let me know if that's not the case.

Surely there are guys here (and perhaps a gal or two, too) who are much more capable and talented than me to provide an assessment of your post history, and there are going to be a lot of personal variation too, including if you are inclined to post in languages other than English.

Sometimes posting in languages, other than English could be a useful service, but there might not be as high of a ratio of members in those sections who have  a sufficient number of smerits that they can spend.

By the way, like I tried to say in my earlier post, you are not really limited in your ability to post good content or to even receive a lot of informational value from the forum in terms of  the number  of merits that you have, but I suppose the number of merits could be ways to benefit in terms of lording over status or even some abilities to financially benefit.

On a personal basis, I don't really ascribe a lot of self assessment based on my receiving smerits, but there is a kind of appreciation that is felt when other members send merits, even if I don't necessarily feel worth of merits in some of my posts... so the whole smerit system is a little bit of a weird dynamic that does seem to, at least, make the forum a bit better as a kind of tool to weed out some of the abilities of spam and shit posters to farm accounts and takes away some incentives to benefit from mere quantity of posts versus causing incentives to improve post quality... which any longer term member is going to appreciate when s/he has to sort through less bullshit in order to find guys (and the occasional gal or two... kind of an inside joke  Cheesy Cheesy Cheesy Cheesy) posting content that is genuine and/or from thought through personal experiences.

Likely, I did not find your posts too repugnant because a bit over a week ago, I sent one of your posts an smerit, and that was as a result of a post in which you had pointed out some of your historical contributions to the forum, a way of seeking merit(s).

Possibly, I would not have come across your posts otherwise, because it does look like you have historically spent a decent amount of time in the bounty hunting section and also just in various altcoin sections, and those areas of the forum that are not of much interest to me and likely not too many members with smerits are going to be hanging out in those sections of the forum or wanting to spend their merits regarding those kinds of begging topics.

The suggestions that I gave to Decimation, above, were somewhat generic which means that those kinds of suggestions should be applicable to anyone, and in sum if you post in areas that are of interest to you, and you provide substantive insight regarding real issues - rather than pumping bullshit ICOs or alts, then you are more likely to build credibility over time which will likely inspire other members (including members with smerits that they can spend) to appreciate your contributions.... and get to know you, as a poster, too.

Actually, I have one more personal bias that seems to be shared by a decent number of members here, but if you spend a considerable amount of time focusing your attention on bitcoin, attempting to learn about bitcoin, looking through the whole space with bitcoin being the main game in town while other projects are frequently distinguishably less valuable than bitcoin while they are engaging in attempts to denigrate bitcoin to pump their own.. and frequently a lot of smoke and mirrors there, then you are likely going to get a decently long way to improving your own understanding of the space which will likely filter down to your getting more credibility and the respect of other forum members.  Don't get me wrong, I am not suggesting that there is completely no value that comes from altcoins, and various scam projects, but I do believe that members who attempt to focus on bitcoin and to take altcoin, ICOs, bounties or whatever with a BIG ASS grain of salt are going to more likely personally profit from their abilities to attempt to focus in that kind of way.

1) Self-Custody is a right.  There is no such thing as "non-custodial" or "un-hosted."  2) ESG, KYC & AML are attack-vectors on Bitcoin to be avoided or minimized.  3) How much alt (shit)coin diversification is necessary? if you are into Bitcoin, then 0%......if you cannot control your gambling, then perhaps limit your alt(shit)coin exposure to less than 10% of your bitcoin size...Put BTC here: bc1q49wt0ddnj07wzzp6z7affw9ven7fztyhevqu9k

All good , glad you are back, safe and sound.

Yes that was exactly what i needed, I wanted to know if there is anyone who is doing just fine with merit and whom I have not merited yet, turns out that the list consists of

-banned users
-inactive users ( either inactive on the local board or the forum as a whole)

kind of what I expected since I do spend a lot of time digging for good posts to merit in the local board.

Thanks a lot SM. Kiss

Allocating 1% of your portfolio for shit coins will help you safe. That is for risky investment, and you won't lose your life with just 1% of your capital invest in those shit coins. If you are lucky with one or some of them, you might get richer. Someone use significant proportion of their capital for risky investment, so if you are unlucky with their chosen shitcoins, they will lose big.

Dammit dude
<snip>
Look at how much effort JayJuanGee put into his reply--and he earned merits for it.

One thing all merit seekers ought to be aware of is that regardless of how constructive your post is, if you're posting in a section that's filled with spammers who never read anything, you're not going to get those merits.  I think it's highly unlikely there are many merit sources scouring Altcoin Discussion for hidden gems.

Any smart advices you have for me?
I know you were addressing JayJuanGee, but my advice to you would be to either improve your English or hope your local board has a merit source lurking about.  There's no magic to earning merits--just take a look at some of the members who've earned the most and see what they did to get them.

Edit:  By the way, I just did a quickie glance at some of your recent posts, and you do seem to have a tendency to post a lot of bullshit, just short posts with hardly any substance nor analysis contained therein.

So, yeah "upping your game" could be a beneficial thing for you, in terms of possibly inspiring other members to merit your contributions,.... not in terms of the quantity of your posts, but instead attempting to provide better quality per post that might come from reading more and attempting to actually provide content that is responsive to a member's or multiple members' concerns that you might be able to identify in the threads that you read (beyond just reading the title of the thread or whatever other random thought that comes into your mind that might of might not be relevant to any point(s) raised in the thread), if you were not seeming to bounce around so much from topic to topic in such a short period of time.

Thank you, you have motivated me to work harder and with your advice I was finally able to find a topic to post about that wasn't already done 100x over. Besides my other shit topics, I made my best one and people actually liked it. Here is the thread if you want to look, inspired by you of course. I don't want this to sound like I'm asking for merit, please DONT merit me because that's not the point. I just wanted to share how your response has affected and helped me, I hope you have a great day Smiley

I know. Unfortunately I don't have a way to track unbans. So threat the "Ban" note as "Had been permanently banned at some point".

As I know, LoyceV has his technical steps to do this. You can ask him for help. If I am remember correctly, LoyceV use the trick to follow when a permanent banned user come back to post. I am not sure, but I think this is what LoyceV disclosed in one of his threads on banned users.

Correct. When a user posts again, I remove him from my list of banned users (see details).

@suchmoon: if you use the daily update from [ LIST] Banned users, you've covered most unbans already.

Can I get this lists (For Beginners&Help and Pilipinas Sections Only)

Quote
Users with 9 Merits with less than 60 activities

And

Quote
Users with 95-99 Merits and 240-249 Merits

I'm guessing you want users with those amounts of total merits so that you could help them rank up, and they should have posted in those two boards. How much should the users have posted in B&H and Pilipinas to get included in the list? I used a threshold of at least once in the last 365 days. Let me know if you want me to adjust that but as you can see there aren't that many such users.

I've been mucking around with this on and off for a couple of months - trying to get a list of unmerited and undermerited users who might deserve some merits - and I think all I got is a lot of material for the wall of shame thread Grin

Here is my step-by-step progress of an attempt to narrow the list: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5185946

At the top of each post there is an explanation what I was doing. Eventually I got to this list of 525 "candidates": https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5185946.msg52498875#msg52498875

On of the biggest problems is that at this point the "Posts" column still links to their entire post histories and there is no easy way to review just the posts that passed my filters so it's not even clear if those filters are worth anything. Spot checking a few users was not encouraging. Generic meaningless tripe and broken English to the point of being incomprehensible seem to be the most common issues.

#1 on the list (user has 2 earned merits):

I don't remember how much I losses in gambling because if I did that, it would make me sad, and I will try to recover the losses. That will be difficult for me because I don't have good luck in the gambling games. And if I try it with so hard, I will only get more losses, and I realize that will makes I broke. I am trying to playing gambling, but I don't use so much money because of the big risk in gambling, and I try to accept the risk.

#65 on the list (user has 0 earned merits, seems to be a shitcoin ladder-bumper):

Hope the dev will always update information about their process, but to list the exchanger is not easy
Exchangers will certainly see whether the project of the coin can compete in their exchanger or not

#149 on the list (user has 1 earned merit):

With more new applications that were getting developed it is possible to make cryptocurrency and bitcoin user friendly to all levels of people. With beginners too it isn't that difficult, because if they make a transaction once they'll get to know good about it. Further on using bitcoin for few times they'll more comfortable using it further.

#305 on the list (user has 2 earned merits):

You got a point there but in my view its too late for the government of the united state of America to gain control over the cryptocurrency industry. They have been hash on the community, hash on their citizens for using cryptocurrency, they don't want to use decentralized exchanges around her territory, these sum up among others will not give them the enably environment to control the industry.
There have been speculations that they are likely to be the inventors of cryptocurrency, but until then, if they aren't the ones then they cannot control the cryptocurrency.

#494 on the list (user has 0 earned merits):

If you are good at mining, you can do it. Mining hasn't permission for all country. Research won't lose your any time and money. New coin is coming for future market, you should research on new coin. My prefer is trading with top altcoins.

Could there be some gold in that pile of poo? I'm not too hopeful. I'll keep tweaking my search when I have some time but so far I think I'm better off just opening a few threads and reading them... even on some really shitty boards like Altcoin Discussion I can usually find a post or two that are not entirely horrible and send them a few encouragement merits.

I also spent some time checking the top few users and found nothing of interest. I figured maybe they were the spammers who had managed to squeeze through all your filters, so I jumped to the bottom and checked out the last few users with the lowest post counts. Results were similarly discouraging. I couldn't find anything worth meriting in about 20 minutes of looking, so I just merited you instead for the effort. I'll take a longer look another time, but I'm not hopeful.

This seems to be another data point (along with Loyce's Report to Merit Sources thread) to disprove the oft repeated claim that there are a plethora of great posts and great users who are going under merited.

Hi Loyce. Suchmoon

Can I get a list of users that :

>Have posted at least 10 posts in the Indian board (including any of its child board) in the last 6 months

>Have never been merited by Suchmoon, Foxup, or Legendster (me)

>Have posted at least 29+ posts in the last 30 days

-

The intent is to find deserving people in the Indian section that have not been noticed yet.
Thanks in advance.
