Politics and sports have never gone very well alongside each other. It is inevitable that there will always be problems when sports are mixed with politics. But that does not seem to be an issue for the Authority of almost every cricket board, not only South Africa.

Moreover, it is also important to understand that to some extent, the decision of which players will play in the starting 11 is also made by politicians. And it is very true that you cannot put the deciding match on luck Just because a player is showing good promises. You have to play that player who is already delivering the goods. As of now, the momentum is with England, and I believe it will be very difficult for South Africa to win the next match as a result of this.

Nope. Even if the quota system is removed, enough black players will be selected to the national team. Now they have very good players such as Kagiso Rabada, Lungi Ngidi, Tabraiz Shamsi and Keshav Maharaj. Obviously some like Temba Bavuma may find difficulty in getting in to the playing XI, if the form can't be maintained. But there is no truth in saying that only white players will be in the team. That was not the case in the 1990s. Only Paul Adams and Makhaya Ntini were considered for selection, because there were hardly any other black players in the domestic system at that time.

All praises to Ben Stokes his contribution as a captain, batter, and bowler was immense in this test match. Without his contribution as a batter, the English side would not have been able to put pressure on the SA batters.

@pakhitheboss this is the new look England and while they may lose a game or two due to their aggressive playing policy, but this game proved that when they correctly implement their strategy they’ll get wins hence it’s a justifiable policy. @MatthewLM it’s not that SA played bad but they were lacking the intent to take on England, and the way they folded showed that they were feeling the pressure right from the start of their batting, and that’s something the team management has to introspect and make sure that the player’s don’t give up so easily in upcoming matches.

This third test between South Africa and England will be very interesting and very competitive as well. In my view, it is important that South Africa remains true to the original plan that they were pursuing in the first place, rather than trying to take a number of complicated decisions in order to complicate matters.

In my opinion, if they had continued to go with the same composition of the team that they did in the first match, they would have had a better chance of winning. As for the third match, I believe that there will most certainly be some changes made to the team from what we saw in the second match. There will be a good deal of impact on the third match based on the result of the toss.

You don't try to dent your chances of series win for just a promise. You play the condition and choose horses for the courses so I don't think that was the major reason.

They definitely had a different thought process about Trafford's pitch (3 seamer + 2 spin), that's why they opted to bat first as they were banking on 2 spinners to finish the job on 4th-5th day, this strategy clearly didn't pan out.

If Jansen is good, then he will be included as an overseas player by any county side (I believe that they have a restriction of 2 players per county, and that is why Kolpak is important for the fringe players). Or he has the option of migrating to New Zealand, where the domestic system is already getting flooded with South African players. Even the United States is emerging as a good option.

Kolpak enabled South African players with European citizenship to play for county sides, without bringing the limitation of overseas player. But after Brexit, European citizens doesn't have the right to work in the United Kingdom unrestricted. But in case the player is very talented, then it should not impact them as they may get included as an overseas player. For players such as Craig Meschede (German and South African passport) and Wayne Madsen (Italian and South African passport), the changed restrictions mean that they need to compete for the spot of overseas player instead of local player, which may not be a viable option.

Yeah, officially not much as same as every other organization but on the ground level situation is not going to improve any time soon.

According to their chief and other officials, this new league is extremely crucial for South African cricket, this is their 2nd attempt and most likely the last if they fail. One of the reasons they are trying hard and even canceled ODI bilateral series with Australia to facilitate new league.

New Zealand A   vs   India A

Today I watched some overs of the New Zealand A team vs India A team test match. The performance of India A team player is excellent. I would say that in 10 years India will have no problem finding talented players for their main squad. India has a lot of talented players.

Although New Zealand managed to collect 400 runs, but Joe Carter's innings of 197 runs, no other player was able to play a big inning. The match seems more likely to be a draw. India has collected 63 runs and are yet to lose a wicket. India A team is quite strong on both bowling and batting side.

If he gets selected for the senior side, then he won't be able to represent the Netherlands for a minimum of 4 years. And this is what happened to some of the more promising associate players, such as Boyd Rankin and Gavin Hamilton. They got one-test each and then they became unavailable for their native countries. Michael Rippon is another Dutch payer who has been included in the NZA side.

First time hearing the name Joe Carter and if he could perform consistently he could be in the New Zealand team. Just checked the scoreboard and i could not identify any players from either side except Kuldeep Yadav and these sort of matches will help the youngsters in building their career playing in Indian pitches and i am not sure these sort of matches are conducted frequently now a days.

A good chance for youths to give their best in this series with in this first unofficial test after end of two days we have 12 wickets and 556 runs with in 150 overs most chances going to end in draw with fewer chance now New Zealand will have second inning batting.

In next few years, most chances we will have around 5 to 7 overseas players in New Zealand team with native players are losing their charm with this game and having better chance in Rugby and Soccer which are currently going good for them South African, Dutch and Indians are migrating very quickly to have their early places in this squad and many are already enjoying with many are in pipeline for next few years.

Today I watched some overs of the New Zealand A team vs India A team test match.

Bhai where are you watching this test match, which channel? I can't find it on any OTT platform.

This match might see a draw. Having said that Indians fielded a solid team, especially the batting lineup. There are some fine hitters in the top 6. Kiwis piled up many runs but it's okay as 1st and 2nd inning scoring rate is very high at this ground, real fight starts when you go into the 3rd-4th innings. The scoring rate is almost half compared to the previous 2 innings.
