Joke aside, I've already mentioned for some weird reasons he becomes a beast against Windies and he just proved that with the bat and now desperately waiting for him to take the ball.

It's just unbelievable how the situation changed in a span of few weeks. After the first two test matches, everyone had written off England. But now they are about to get their second consecutive win. Australia is almost done for the 4th test, as they are trailing by 162 runs with just 6 wickets in hand. Unless there is a miracle from the Oz tailend batsmen, it is going to be an innings win for England. And more importantly, going to the 5th test at the Oval, the Poms would be having a clear momentum with them. I have only one thing to say here - Pat Cummins has failed as a captain, and he need to be kicked out.

End of Day 03, Australia are 162 runs behind and they have only left with 6 wickets. Since there are two days left in the match (if there is no rain), no one can snatch the victory from the England team at Manchester.

Some people especially Australian fans may argue that anything can happen in cricket and do not lose hope until the last wicket for the Australian had gone down, but i would say that match is in such an awkward situation for the Aussies that even the miracle won't even save them.

I don't know how they can send him at no.6 or no.7. That would mean sending Ashwin ahead of Ishan Kishan and Ravindra Jadeja. IMO, both of them are better batsmen compared to Ravichandran Ashwin. Anyway, Ashwin still managed to get a half century and his contribution with the bat during the last few months seems to be higher than top and middle order batsmen such as Ajinkya Rahane and Shubman Gill. BTW, I don't understand the idea of including Jaydev Unadkat in the playing XI for this test as well. Why not T Natarajan or Akash Madhwal?

I don't think anything can happen tor Australia from here. I do understand that Labuschagne is still there who can ofcourse change the course of the game but Australia still trail by 162 runs. England played excellent Bazball yesterday and today. Playing at a run rate of almost 6 they have made sure that they give Australia ample of time to bat. I think there's one sure advantage of Bazball is getting less draws.

Even the first two test matches were supposed to be winning match for England, small mistakes done while declaring the match costed England to lose the first match. In the second match the tiresome effort of Ben Stokes scoring 155 runs brought the match close to winning situation and finally lost the match by 43 runs. With the ongoing test match winning, the series gets levelled. This makes the Ashes Series 5^th test match more interesting.

If Kirk McKenzie and Kraigg Brathwaite can continue to monitor the game well, West Indies can reach the target set by India. In this match West Indies team have made better plans and getting it done. Good start from the West Indies and if they continue the same performance they'll be able to reach the score of India. Braithwaite is playing responsible, and now McKenzie have come to the crease. For India once again the spinner Ashwin have taken the wicket and the dominance of spinners can be expected in this match too.

The fact that Ashwin is batting better than Rahane is no joke though. Rahane has been included in the test team despite not performing properly for the last 2-3 years. And it is not like he is being included because talented youngsters are not available. A lot of people are knocking on the door for the no.4 position, but Kohli and the selectors want no one other than Rahane for that position. Hopefully the selectors would drop him for good after this series. He need to concentrate on domestic cricket for some time, if he wants to make a comeback.

England's victory in the fourth Test seems certain. This will bring back a 2-2 tie in the series. The 5th Test is expected to be thrilling if England wins the 4th Test. Enjoyed some great batting from England in the 4th Test but it was a shame Bairstow didn't get a century for 1 run he was unbeaten on 99 runs. Australia have already lost 4 wickets for 113 runs while England lead by 275 runs. With 162 more runs for Australia to set England a target which looks tough for Australia. Smith,Warner,Khawaja failed again. Mitchell Marsh and Labuschagne at the crease. Just as England is showing skill in batting,it is also showing in bowling. This match is heading towards England's victory. Now it's a matter of how long the Australian batsmen can face the England bowlers.

A lot of pressure for Australia, who are behind by 162 runs, I don't know how they will handle such a big pressure where they have already lost four wickets to collect 113 runs. 
If 100 runs is the target for England, Australia still need to collect 262 runs.
 
England still have a chance to beat Australia by an innings margin as if they bowl Australia out before 162 runs, they can beat Australia by an innings in the fourth Test.

Ashwin is probably one of the best batter at 7-8 number but batting in the top 5 is not an easy task IMO, doesn't matter even if lower order batters look good in comparison to the top 5. Number 6 also suits him but Pant was there for some time.

Rahane did play the last Ranji season and made some runs but he got selected because Iyer was injured so my guess is Iyer (if he's fit) or Sarfraz will replace Rahane soon, maybe in the home series.

West Indies started very well. But I don't think he will be able to collect 438 runs. West Indies squad has talented players. But they are not experienced enough in ODI and Test format. The team could not even qualify for the upcoming ODI World Cup. In the last test match too we saw poor performance from West Indies players. However, West Indies collected 86 runs for the loss of 1 wicket. The team is still behind by 352 runs. I think this is a big difference. I also don't think West Indies batsmen can maintain consistency.

The rain delay can be a blessing in disguise for Australia. The way things are going right now Australia is in big trouble. They have already lost four wickets. Australia is still trailing by 162.  With six wickets in hand, it does not seem like Australia will be able to do a whole lot to give England a good target. It is going to be great for Australia if the fourth day absolutely washes out. Because if that happens, Australia can start playing on the fifth day and just play out the whole day. The equation is simple. If Australia has to play in the fourth day, they will be in trouble.

On the hand England would hope that the rain stops and they can resume playing. They currently have the upper hand in this test match. Winning it would give them a genuine chance of winning the Ashes series. However if this match ends in a draw Englands best outcome would be to draw the series.
