Before the series skipper Ben Stokes and coach Brendon Mccullum both doubled down on Bazball and requested flat pitches for the series and it looks like they are getting one for the first match.

Am excited for this particular series since I feel that England will provide a better challenge to the Australians when compared to India due to their bazball approach. Brendon McCullum should be proud of his epic achievements.

I'll bet on England to win the series and I hope the contest between these two giants goes down to the wire.

England will have the advantage of the home ground too but do not forget that Australia have recently won the WTC finals here and they will be high on confidence. This will be a good game of cricket and we are going to have some exciting days ahead.

Afghanistan could not avoid the follow on but Bangladesh started their second innings without forcing them to bat. In the beginning, Bangladesh lost the wicket of Mahmudul Hasan in  18 runs. However, Bangladesh started the second innings with a big lead of 236 runs. If Bangladesh can give Afghanistan a target of more than 400 runs in the second innings, then it can be said for sure that Bangladesh will win the only Test.
It should be added that Bangladesh has a lead of 284 runs till the last update.

Afghanistan did not bowl well and later they even did not bat well. Their whole team was out under 150 runs, 146 to be exact. Afsar Zazai scored the highest 36 runs while Nasir Jamal scored 35 runs. Rest none of the batsmen were able to make any significant score.

Bangladesh have already scored 134 runs with one wicket down only and they have the match winning lead of 370 runs and counting.

Watching this Test match between Bangladesh and Afghanistan, it seems once again that Afghanistan is yet to establish a good position in any format except T20. It's 5 match test series so it should be challenging and competitive for both teams. Also, comparisons should be made between 4-5 test match series and not one off test encounters.

Because long series gives a better opportunity to fight back unless your opponent is completely down. Expecting a run-fest in the first test and a high run rate innings from England due to obvious reasons.

Back then Afghanistan had a full strength squad (in 2019). Rashid Khan was the man of the match, and he picked up 11 wickets in total (55/5 in the first innings and 49/6 in the second). And then Qais Ahmad was there to provide support to Rashid. Batting lineup included experienced guys such as Asghar Afghan and Mohammad Nabi. But this time there are very few experienced players in the Afghan squad. On the other hand, the Bangladeshis fielded a very experienced squad including Litton Das, Najmul Hossain, Mominul Haque and Mushfiqur Rahim.
