Moreover, spinners get more advantage than fast bowlers in Mirpur.  From that aspect, Taijul Islam, Mehdi Hasan Miraj can get additional benefits. On the other hand, the bad news for the Bangladesh team is that Tamim Iqbal is not participating in this test due to a back injury.
Rashid Khan would have had an added advantage for Afghanistan at the Mirpur venue but unfortunately is not in the Afghanistan squad due to injury. Besides, some other spinners Mohammad Nabi and Mujibur Rahman are absent. In that regard, Afghanistan has prepared the squad with relatively few spinners.

I just check all details about these both teams and playing conditions if we have no good disturbance from rain then most chances Bangladesh will be winner of this test match because they have few good experienced players those can turn tables into their teams favour with good experienced spin bowlers are also available which is good advantage for them at this Mirpur Sherebangla Stadium which is best for the home team against all opponents even they are from any part of this world.

It's not a question of right or wrong. He's already 36 yo and can't hold a captaincy for a long due to his age and everyone is looking at the next WTC cycle, he'll be 38 by then.

He also can't play all 3 formats anymore, he has to choose his poison and drop other formats, possibly ODI(after WC) and T-20 (not IPL tho), then maybe there is a chance of him extending his test career for 2 more years.

It's the same for every senior player, who is in mid 30. Everyone makes a way for new blood so nothing new. It's part of the transition process and management needs to think about it now as you don't want to face a situation where your all senior players taking retirement at the same time.    

These players in their mid-30s and late 30s can't play all the three formats and then also get involved in the IPL. They need to make a choice. If they want to take part in IPL, let them do that. I have mentioned this a few times - BCCI need to have separate squads for limited overs and test cricket. At this point only a few players such as Cheteshwar Pujara and Ajinkya Rahane concentrate fully in the longer format. India do have the talent pool to create separate squads for different formats and domestic players such as Sarfaraz Khan and Abhimanyu Easwaran can be included in the test squad.

The main problem in our system is that players hardly take voluntary retirement due to brand values and when they are forced to do this or dropped their PR teams and troll fans get active with hashtags and other useless drama.

For the Windies test series, they are adding 2-3 new guys and i think Sarfaraz and Abhimanyu's names are missing from the list.

In Mirpur we usually see dry wickets all the time but the curator has created a perfect wicket for Test cricketers against Afghanistan. I saw in the pitch report before the start of the match that there is grass in the back which means no doubt first bowling aid pitch has been made where the batsmen will also get good advantage I thank the curator for making such a pitch in Mirpur ground.

More than two years gap and Rashid Khan is given rest after the IPL season. Earlier both the teams played test match in the same ground during the year 2019. Ever since they were granted test status in 2019, both these teams have performed much below expectations. Afghanistan has been marginally better than Ireland, but still they are unable to compete in a meaningful way against the top test sides.

But today's pitch condition seems different to me. Green pitches and pitches have lots of grass. It seems that Barr's Bangladesh pitch curator Gamini de Silva has created a pace bowler-friendly pitch this time. Bangladesh has kept 3 pacers in the squad for this match. Nijat Masood of Afghanistan was making his debut today, and he picked up a wicket of his very first ball in test cricket. Zakir Hasan was out caught behind, and initially the umpire ruled it not out. Afghans decided to review, and the ultra-edge showed a big nick. Now Mahmudul Hasan Joy and Najmul Hossain Shanto are at the crease and they are looking quite comfortable against the two Afghan pacers (Nijat Masood and Nijat Masood). Bangladesh lost their first wicket by just 6 runs. I thought we will see the batting disaster of Bangladesh like in the past matches. But Najmul Hasan Shanto and Mahmudul Hasan Joy are batting very responsibly. At the end of 29 overs, Bangladesh scored 142 runs with the loss of 1 wicket. Bangladesh is collecting 4.89 runs per over. SHanto's batting does not look like he is batting in a Test match. SHnato is unbeaten on 87 runs off 94 balls. Afghanistan's bowlers are not able to take any advantage. Their bowling is very weak. Bangladesh team has experienced batsmen like Muminul Hoke, Mushfiq, Liton, and Miraz. Bangladesh is moving towards a big collection.

Looks like Rohit might get replaced as the test captain in the near future based on information from various sources. Dravid might also get sacked since he hasn't really helped the team achieve much so far.

If Rohit does get replaced, I hope Ashwin gets a shot or Kohli should return since these two have great leadership qualities.

This was expected after worst defeat against Australia in WTC final because too much criticism against him and few senior players from all around but surely now it is good time for change but here I want selectors need to give some more chance to Rahul Dravid because he deserves this but about test format and captaincy now it is good time to bring changes specially now I want Rahane as new captain for the test format for next two years because he is a silent hero of the Indian test team, and he also deserved this chance for the next cycle of the WTC.

Even Ashwin is also good choice but for me Rahane is better and Kohli is not deserved this chance again if Indian team wants to do something good in future now his place as batsman is OK but if he fails to provide any better performance then he also needs to quit for the sack of other formats and IPL.

We all thought that he might score a double century today with the aggressive mood he is batting in but luck didn't help him. However, Bangladesh did not start the Test well when the first wicket fell for 7 runs. Mahmudul Hasan and Nazmul Hossain gave an impeccable innings of 212 runs. Nazmul Hossain Shanto was instrumental in making that pair and helped Bangladesh post a respectable score. Now Bangladesh wants a lot from Mushfiqur Rahim and Liton Das and if they can bat at the end of today's last session then the team score can go above 350 runs.
