Bangladesh has given a target of 272 runs to New Zealand. New Zealand won the toss and elected to bowl. They may have thought that Bangladesh would have a batting disaster like in the first math. But that did not happen. Bangladesh has played well enough. If Bangladesh bowlers are able to perform their duties properly, maybe Bangladesh will be able to win the match.

Bangladesh was in trouble initially. When Mushfiqur Rahim got out, they were 184/4 after 40.3 overs. But in the remaining 9.3 overs, they managed to score at a rate of 10 runs per over, as a result of power hitting from Mohammad Mithun. The New Zealand bowlers conceded too many runs in the end. James Neesham in particular was very expensive. Anyway, New Zealand is struggling now. They are at 57/3.

Left-Right combination is important so i think Kohli & co would prefer Shikhar over Gill and KL Rahul, at least for the 1st match. If Shikhar fails there then KL Rahul would get 2nd chance over Gill.
Kohli said that he is going with Rohit and Dhawan combination for this pitch who are perfect openers in the past but in the recent time Form of Dhawan is not in great position but still he will be given the chance hopefully. I am eagerly waiting for the toos which is coming in the next few minutes meanwhile Krunal and Prasid got their caps today means they are going to be in the laying XI but expected Surya Kumar Yadav to play because he played well in when the chance was given to him in T20. Edit: Eng won the toss and they decided to bowl first. Teams:
India (Playing XI): Rohit Sharma, Shikhar Dhawan, Virat Kohli(c), Shreyas Iyer, KL Rahul(w), Hardik Pandya, Krunal Pandya, Shardul Thakur, Bhuvneshwar Kumar, Kuldeep Yadav, Prasidh Krishna
England (Playing XI): Jason Roy, Jonny Bairstow, Eoin Morgan(c), Jos Buttler(w), Ben Stokes, Sam Billings, Moeen Ali, Sam Curran, Tom Curran, Adil Rashid, Mark Wood

As expected, Shikhar Dhawan and KL Rahul has been included in the playing XI. Now I am certain that the younger Indian players don't have any chance under the Kohli/Shastri regime. Why these two are included in the XI, despite so many failures? On the other hand, Ishan Kishan was dropped after just one failure. Anyway, as long as India wins the series, no one is going to complain. And perhaps that is the reason why Kohli is acting so arrogantly.

A few more failures and they will be out of the team forever unless they come out with some outstanding performance in the domestic circuit, i am hoping KL Rahul will perform well and he is the wicket keeper. When it comes to Ishan Kishan he was dropped because he had some injury and that is what i heard in news channel. Anyway, as long as India wins the series, no one is going to complain. India is lucky that they are winning all the series and until then you will not hear any complaints.
England won the toss and India is batting first.

Even during the T20 series, England won the toss 4 out of 5 times. And here also, England captain won the toss. I don't know why Virat Kohli is so unlucky when it comes to winning the toss. Back in Australia also he lost the toss most of the times. Anyway, India has started "cautiously", with Dhawan and Rohit. The England pace attack looks a bit blunt, in the absence of Jofra Archer. Mark Wood performs best, when Archer is bowling from the other end.

Nonsense. Dhawan and Rahul are two of the biggest assets in the Indian team currently. They won't be dismissed just because of a couple of failures in my opinion. India is lucky that they are winning all the series and until then you will not hear any complaints.
Luck? Hilarious. They decimated Australia and went on to outplay England in both the test and T-20 series thanks to their efforts which was clearly visible to everyone.

Until now both the openers are playing calm and controlled, not taking too many risky shots. And its good to see both of them have a good start and they need to convert them into 50s or bigger than that to take the team into the winning side. About the pitch, looks flattish so this could be a high scoring game in my opinion.

Virat Kohli needs to spend time practicing with different coins . A few more failures and they will be out of the team forever unless they come out with some outstanding performance in the domestic circuit.
Nonsense. Dhawan and Rahul are two of the biggest assets in the Indian team currently. They won't be dismissed just because of a couple of failures in my opinion. Shikhar Dhawan is a 35 year old asset and his domestic performance in the recently concluded series and his last ten scores looks like this (23, 5, 77, 0, 0, 6, 0, 153, 44, 4) as if there are no other talents in India, KL Rahul is struggling in T20 and if that continues in ODI he will be replaced as he scored just 15 runs in his last 5 innings with a staggering average of 3. How long you will give these assets time to perform when there are promising young players waiting to get a spot. India is lucky that they are winning all the series and until then you will not hear any complaints.

[/quote]The above mentioned flaws and then the fielding as they are missing catches every match and no one talks about them when India is winning, when a team is winning no one will highlight these flaws and that is what i meant by lucky to hide the flaws as well.

The so called assets (especially Dhawan) are rather turning out to be a burden to team India. The question is not whether Dhawan is an asset or not. The question here is why he is being given so many opportunities, when the younger players are dropped after just one bad match. Kohli has made the Indian team his personal fiefdom with his selection bias and nepotism. The younger players are being treated very harshly.

England is fighting back, they took out 2 set batsmen Kohli-Dhawan out of the equation and Shryas very cheaply with in 5 overs. Before I was expecting big total of 320 + runs but now its adjusted to 290-300. Let's see what happens in the last 10 overs with powerplay. ------------------------- Oh boy Hardik is gone. Now 300 looking tough.

It is surprising to see the England bowlers failing continuously against the Indian lower order batsmen. During the test series they struggled against Washington Sundar and Ravichandran Ashwin. And this time they are having issues against Krunal Pandya. Sam Curran in particular looked clueless out there. He bowled well during the first 8 overs, but then conceded too many runs in the last two.

Powerplay -only 4 fielder outside the circle helped the Indian cause- mixed this with couple of bad delivery every now and then and we have a recipe for disaster. Its batting wicket so England going to get some runs also. In the last 3 months debutants performing quite well for India. Gill, Nattu, Sundar, Ishan, Surya, Axar, Krunal.

Still it is very early now let see how the match turns out, pretty excit as I believe this should be a close match.

England bowlers conceded more than 110 runs in the last 10 overs. Their bowling was OK till then, but from the 40th over it went really bad. When Hardik Pandya got out, India were 205/5 with just 9.3 overs left. Two new batsmen were at the crease (Krunal Pandya and KL Rahul). I thought England would be able to wrap up the Indian innings for less than 250. But in the end, India managed a massive score (317/5). Really pathetic depth bowling from England.

India will most probably win this one unless their bowlers mess up big-time. Bhuvi will probably be the X-factor.
Also, Dhawan - 98(Sad) and Rahul - 62. This is why I called them great assets currently and Kohli along with the team management made the right choice silencing the critics.
Instead of whining about their failures here and there, it's better to focus on their achievements in all formats of Cricket. This is why I strongly believe that these 2 players deserve more chances in the future.

"Silenced the critics?" They got a dozen chances and finally they performed. The difference is that the younger players such as Shaw, Gill and Kishan were dropped after just one bad performance. Anyway, now their slot seems to be confirmed for the rest of the year and let's see how that works for them. Prasidh Krishna had a disappointing debut, and he gave away 37 runs from 3 overs. Apart from Bhuvneshwar Kumar, other bowlers are conceding too many runs.

A smart target but poor display of fielding lead them today's game. Their bowling and fielding departments didn't perform well that's why they lost this match otherwise they would have won the match. I watched 1st innings, it was satisfying to watch Bangladesh batting that helps post a great total on the board. Overall Improved performance but have to be more clinical in fielding.

Finally he took The wicket of Roy, Eng is still in the dominating position because they just need another 183 runs in the next 35 overs so Ind need more wickets which will shatter the Eng batting line up for sure. Good to see that Dhawan and Rahul is getting their form back and the debutant Krunal was excellent in the final overs.

Phew Finally... 2 quick wickets. Bairstow is in beast mode and bullying every one, its also shows that how beautifully English bowlers bowled in the 1st powerplay against the Indian openers. You think hey we got the breakthrough but then Stokes comes in, then he goes. You think again wow!! Only to realize that next 2 batsmen are Eoin Morgan and Jos buttler . India need to keep thing tight in the middle order..
Edit LORD THAKUR !!!! haha
