How is everyone missing the main point when Spondoolies says that the next gen is not for home use? They will NOT be retailing single units. They will likely only sell large batches to industrial mining operations... just like KNC and Bitfury. There are many reasons why they would want to do this and I'm sure most of us have heard them all before. I didn't say that. I said that our first form factor is suitable for large scale deployment. If there will be home mining market, we'll have other offerings. We do intend to offer the best rates cloud mining with Genesis Mining. I'm hoping you will make a 3rd gen product with the SP3x form factor. I have 1 socket I can change from 120 to 240 volts. It is a 3 foot run from my panel . So I can easily do this. I can run 12 sp20e's at 600 watts or a total of 7200 watts. So if I have 1 sp100 I can wire a 30amp fuse and supply 5600 watts to the sp100. after that I would be pressed. So if a newer 4000-6000 watt miner does come out I will be sure to be ready for it. somewhere on this thread Guy said that it will be 16000w. Maybe you are talking about the "consumer" version of that one?

12U, 16kw, 10 replaceable hashing boards.
IMHO, if you came out with something like 4U/5Kw/3 or 4 board version in the 20-25TH range you'd make a killing. I think that would still keep the home miner in the game as basically anyone with 5 SP20's running today should/would be able to convert over to this. As with the SP30/31/35 the rack mount form factor would be great for those of us in a datacenter setting. I would absolutely buy one of your third generation units at a 4U form factor, i can not imagine it costing you that much more to release both form factors simultaneously. Since if you did released it to industrial miners first they would have the advantage of the new ASIC technology before the home miners giving the industrial miners more of an advantage. Releasing both form factors simultaneously however would create a more level playing field. You would also gain even more respect then you already have amongst the Bitcoin community. Furthermore in the long run this might even be the most profitable strategy for spoondoolies, since what is good for Bitcoin is also good for spondoolies. that is one of the beautiful things about Bitcoin, it is supposed to align incentives towards good.

Launching two product lines simultaneously isn't feasible. As with our previous gens, we'll be open to sell our ASICs. The 3 months lead time on the ASICs kill most of those deals.

Not suggesting you organize it. Members of the community can easily pool their own coins and do this. Suggest you avoid Bobsag3 and others with a similar pedigree but there are still plenty of people I suspect willing to mine given the replies here so far. Why they would is beyond me but I guess they want miners. If people are going to mine at home they will have to band together to get units. I can't see any other way. Bitmain will move towards this model as well they know it is economical to avoid 1000s of customers and pair it down to 100's customers for the same return.

Alternatively, we're thinking about "shared mines". Create management companies by a trusted operators in a low cost electricity places, and sell or pre-sell mining capacity (after the tech will be proven).

Millions can be collected in a real group buy. Been done before in this community. See Zefir's chip buys for example. Hell I held 80K (721 BTC) in my hand for one order. What is dead is home mining. Why would anyone POOL resources to then split it up and lose the potential savings of such a massive amount of hashrate? I think that SPTech offering up a shared mine (farm) is interesting. Very very interesting. Why cloud mine if you can share resources and own the hardware?

I can manufacture the chassis myself if I have the CADs so if you sell just boards and controller I can pretty much get the whole thing set up. I have tons of delta fans as well I would have thought up the same modular way, as this saves on the exterior, multiple small fans, and controllers and MB. Bitfury, and ASM have been doing it for awhile, they probably have custom Unit-sizes in house that the public does not know about, in their mines.
Beside BMT upgrade kits, I'm not aware of any other company that successfully reused the chassis, PSUs, fans and controller. I know that BitFury planed for it but they're currently moving towards immersion cooling in their DCs, so they seem to discard the idea. In addition, BitFury raspberry pi controller didn't have spare capacity to handle the increase in job creation rate. We intend to allow quick upgrade between our 3rd and future gens. We'll probably manufacture the hashing boards closer to the packaging house and ship them by air, while the chassis will be shipped by sea or be manufactured closer to the deployment locations.

yes i am intrested for hashing board (whit Connectors, Interconnects (serial number of producer or digikey number)) and controler board dimension of board and TDP of chips, detailed plan of rack.
