Manchester United are continuing to win which is really good to see. This time, they might really be recovering. The winning goal came very late by Rashford (90+3') but they still won by 1-0 against a very tough opponent like West Ham. It is never too easy to beat them especially in this season. Manchester United beat them away too and maintained their winning streak against them now. In terms of performance, Manchester United were very good while West Ham were struggling too much. The Red Devils deserved the win.

I do not know about a momentum shift, it is too early to say but I think it is extremely tight at the foot of the table. Burnley are bottom with 11 points but have played 17 games whereas Norwich are now 17th place and therefore currently safe from relegation but have played 22 games and are on 16 points. 5 points separate from of the league to safety.

The next 4 games for Burnley are: away to Arsenal, home to Watford, away to Manchester United and home to Liverpool.

It would be expected for them to drop points against Arsenal, Manchester United and Liverpool but they need to beat Watford to keep up their hopes of staying in the Premier League and applying pressure on the teams around them. From their next 4 games and possible 12 points if Burnley managed to beat Watford and drew one of the other 3 which gave them 4 precious points it will help them a lot.

In their last 3 Premier League games Newcastle have 2 draws and 1 win. Norwich have 1 loss and 2 wins. Things are looking good for these two teams as far as momentum is concerned but they are not out of danger yet.

It is great to see a relegation fight to see which teams will stay up as well as watching the fight for a top 4 finish. Manchester United scored a goal with virtually the last kick of the game to beat West Ham United 1-0 and moved in to 4th place in the table. Here are the results of the game sthat took place today:

Yup.  Lol.    And Newcastle just won their match today against Leeds too.  Is a shift in momentum starting here?  I could see Newcastle and Norwich move up while Everton could be battling it out for a relegation scrap...  I did not see this happening.  If somebody told me Everton would be at risk of relegation during the start of the season I’d tell you to F off.  

And I think Everton respected Benitez too much.  Most clubs wouldn’t wait til after the holidays to give him the sack.

They are almost losing 3 points atm, seems they are lucky for this time. this is also a note for Rangnick if he still tries to use a new strategy for the next game maybe he will be lost 3 and 1 point. he has been over 2 months MU but he still experiments. A late goal from Rashford is which must be considered by the coach to use him as the starter for the next game because Rashford always created goals in the last minutes maybe he will be created in the beginning when as a starter.

There is nothing Manchester United will compete about this season that to try and retain the fourth position the club is currently at so to be able to qualify for UCL neslxt season. Manchester United was just very lucky, the match could have ended draw. I do not know why some people are praising Manchester United today, because the club scored at 90+3 minutes, let us hope the 4th position will not be retaken by West Ham.

I'm saying it out loud - I hate how UTD plays football.
They get these wins in the dying seconds or luckily. Otherwise, they lose. I have to say that Westham deserved the win.
UTD played horrible football and they have to be one of the most inconsistent teams in the league. They won this match by a goal scored by Rashford in the 93rd minute. Even though they won, I'm very disappointed at the quality of football they are playing.

Chelsea and Liverpool have a chance to close the gap at the top of the table after Manchester City dropped points yesterday. Burnley have a tough match at Arsenal but they are bottom of the table and need points desperately.

Westham this season has really surprised me with how well they have been playing. Even more they were consistent. I don't even wanna say how inconsistent Manchester United are this season but they still managed to get the win.
It was a goal by Rashford in the 93rd minute. CR7 still could score in this match which is a bit saddening. But a win is a win and it will give them a big morale boost.

Everton suddenly started to lose their form and now are 16th place with only 19 points in 20 games. I would hope that Newcastle can get out of the relegation zone as it will play a big part in terms of buying new players. As bigger players wouldn't wanna go to 2nd division.

Are you convinced that Man Utd will retain the 4th position on the EPL with their inconsistent performance? at the end of the season, I don't think so going by their previous records and at a time when Tottenham, Arsenal and West Ham has even higher chances of taking that slot going by their outstanding performances and fortunately has outstanding matches to play.
Any of the three above mentioned club will grap the last UCL slot, personally Man Utd are unpredictable in the league whenever there is an expectation of them winning a particular match they either loss or draw, they narrowly won against West Ham after playing a draw with Aston Villa.

I agree with you, it does look like Everton can be dragged in to a prolonged relegation fight too because they are in a difficult position. They are just 4 points above the relegation zone and 3 points above Norwich. It is will be a struggle for any team from 16th to 20th to escape a relegation fight.

My bad, do not mind me, I did not do the analysis very well. It is true that some clubs still have some awaiting matches. Manchester United at 38 points, Tottenham at 36 points with three other matches to play while Arsenal at 35 points with two other matches to play. Also West Ham tried but seeing how the club will drastically fall below the upper table. Manchester United stay on the EPL table in fourth position is truly temporary, Tottenham have more chances to be there.

Maybe...  Everton seems to be recovering from their little injury crisis and they’re finally seeing some key players available to play.  But then again, there’s a thing called momentum and Everton’s momentum is down while Norwich and Newcastle could start going up. 

Everton will be playing Newcastle next, then Leeds, then Southampton.  Fun.    These fixtures are must wins or at least get a point.  Losing at least one will def be not good.

Bottom of the table Burnley got a very important point at Arsenal because are fighting to stay in the Premier League. Arsenal could have strengthened their case for a top 4 finish but they dropped points.

Chelsea beat Tottenham to go 10 points behind leaders Manchester City and 1 point behind second placed Liverpool. Chelsea have played 2 games more than 4th placed Manchester United and are 9 points ahead therefore by winning the games in hand Manchester United could end up being just 3 points behind Chelsea.

Liverpool won 1-3 but if that penalty decision was not given towards the end of the game Crystal Palace were pushing for an equaliser. It was a bad decision by the referee to award a penalty to Liverpool after he was instructed by VAR to look at the pitch-side monitor, it was definitely not a penalty.

We watched Chelsea 4-2-3-1 today and they dominated the game again. After the national break, we can see Chelsea competing for the championship again. The game Tuchel wanted started to take the form  against closed defenses. Especially if he chose 3-4-3 with Hakim Ziyech is on the right, Hudson Odoi is on the left, Kante and Kovacic are in the middle, it can be very beneficial for them.

And I don't get it, it's surprising that Tottenham have such a rich offensive line but they have so few positions. All right, you do the counter attack well, but when you are looking for a counter attack, you have to do the defense, they can't do it either.

Yeah, Tottenham playing defensive same as Conte did on another club in past. maybe they also were a bit lost motivated after Kane's goal was disallowed by the referee. That strategy also didn't effective when playing counterattack but the defender didn't fast to come back. I believe Tuchel can read the situation on 2nd half which shows in 2 minutes after kick-off, Ziyech create the opening goal dan continue it by Silva and Chelsea turn around to make defensive.

The fight for a Champions League ticket next season between West Ham United and Manchester United is indeed very tough this season considering that both teams are both eyeing the top 4 Premier League zone, but Manchester United has slightly benefited from the one remaining game they haven't played this season. This time, and Manchester United took advantage of this opportunity well where they hosted West Ham United at Old Trafford stadium ending with 3 points which also made them take over the 4th position

Manchester United is having 38 points, 22 matches played
Arsenal is having 36 points, 21 matches played
Tottenham is having 36 points, 20 matches played.

Should I say Manchester United and Arsenal may fight until Tottenham take over the 4th position. Manchester United is having low chance to retain that four position.

I also agree with top 3 is almost certain and 4th place struggle will be quite interesting to watch. Well, Manu might be invested a lot and as long as I care they could invest billions but that doesn't mean they deserve the 4th spot. Their game play this season is not how it's supposed to be. Even they have Ronaldo, I think they struggle at the offence and as well as defence. I think all of the four teams; ManU, West Ham, Arsenal and Tottenham, will play much better than how they already played to get the 4th spot. All of them need improvement.

I also used to think the top 3 was confirmed but now I am not so sure about Chelsea after their form has dipped.

Manchester United: if they win their 2 games in hand they will have 44 points while Chelsea have 47 points
West Ham United: if they win their 1 game in hand they will be 7 points behind Chelsea
Arsenal: if they win their 3 games in hand they will be just 2 points behind Chelsea
Tottenham Hotspur: if they win their 4 games in hand they will be 1 point ahead of Chelsea

If Conte manages to get Spurs in a top 4 finish it will be a massive success because he was not their manager at the start of the season and both he and the team had to adjust. As for Chelsea, they have a fight on their hands if they want to end the season with a top 4 finish.

We will have a couple of weeks waiting time before the next games are played.

The next Premier League fixture takes place on Saturday 5th February 2022, it is a bottom of the table blockbuster match between Burnley and Watford.

With a win Burnley could leapfrog Watford and climb to just 1 point from getting out of the relegation zone. If Watford lose they will go bottom of the table.
