I think Ivan Toney is a top player, if he leaves Brentford though surely he can attract interest from a big PL club. I think he’s probably too young to go to Saudi Arabia.

Arsenal need a goalscoring CF, I’m surprised they haven’t showed an interest.

If Toney moves outside of the Premier League, La Liga, Bundesliga and Serie A he will probably never play for England again therefore he will keep that in mind.

Also, the latest reports suggest Chelsea and Manchester United are interested in signing him on loan. It seems this will continue for a little longer until we understand where his career takes him.

There is no single interest from the PL club at the moment. Tottenham were the only club who made contact but chose Solanke instead. As I previously stated, he hasn't been cleared of gambling allegations yet and may face more extended punishment, which is why no major club is interested. Aside from being a good player, I've heard that his attitude isn't as good as we see, and Brentford isn't willing to lower his release clause.

Anyway, what do you guys think of Man United vs Fulham this weekend?  I feel like Man U loses their first match or ends in a draw. 

Mid-week games are always tough and unpredictable but I'm looking at a boring 1st half and a goal fest in the second half so I would literally go with 2nd Half GG @2.45

Ivan Toney to Saudi Arabia..?  Oof.  He's still in his prime.  Pretty sure there are clubs in other leagues in Europe who could use his talents.  But for the 60 GBP price tag Brentford is asking for him, I think that's a bit too much.  I mean he's good but for 60m GBP, pretty sure there are better options.

Saudi Arabia might be the only possible destination if Brentford insist on that price. The last time I remember Chelsea being interested in Ivan Toney earlier this year but all of a sudden there was no news coming again. If he isn't yet completely cleared of his gambling allegations then he should just take himself to the Saudis for retirement because no club will want to associate with a gambler that might corrupt other squad members.

I beg to differ, Manchester united has a good record against Fulham as they should. Lets give them the benefit of doubt, it's the start of the season so the players should be fresh and willing to win. There are other games that they're going to give us something to mock them about but for this one, it pains me to say but united for the win. It's going to be a close one though.

From what I recall Arsenal did show a very serious interest but for one reason or another it has cooled. I cannot see him going there to play under a manager (Arteta) that has a harmonious squad on the verge of winning the Premier League. At 28 years old he should be playing at a top club because of the potential he has but again, he had severe gambling issues and maybe managers prefer to not buy him for that reason. Rumours about him going out on loan are still persisting.

I think it will probably be very tight but Manchester United could win 1-0 or 2-1.

His market value is 50 million but Brentford placed a hundred million price tag on him, nobody is paying that amount for Toney. He's a 28-year-old striker whose best season was in the championship, he has done nothing to cost that much. He hasn't led his team to a major trophy and he's not young. He surely cannot be considered one of the strikers in the world, he's not even among the top 10 best strikers in the world so which club would buy him for 100 million except Saudi Arabian clubs? To be honest, I doubt Saudi Arabian clubs will buy him that much because they spend that kind of money on players who have made an impact in football, players that can boost the popularity of their league, I'm afraid Toney doesn't have that.

I'm really happy to see that we'll have some PL action in less than 24hrs from now. As much as I enjoyed the Euro 2024 and the Olympics, nothing beats the classic weekend matches in the Premier league.

Some thoughts on the first game — Man Utd vs Fulham.

Man Utd is playing at home and would definitely win it. It's the first game of the season and they're just coming from from a 0-3 thrashing by Liverpool in preseason USA tour game and a community shield loss to City last weekend. Easy win imo.

As a club, Brentford have placed a £60 million valuation on Toney (not £100 million). Clearly the price has not attracted a club to the player because any interested party would probably want to first pay less and second integrate a player with less negative history as Toney. It seems his gambling addiction issues will play a part when managers and club owners consider him as an option.

If he was a proven goalscorer with a highly respectable goals per game ratio or if he was given time at Euro 24 and managed to excel on the pitch, he probably would have been sold by now or moved on to a loan deal.

It looks like Chelsea - Napoli talks over Osimhen deal are relive. Mirror says Chelsea is offering a 39m pounds + Lukaku and Cesare Casadei deal for Osimhen.

I don't feel like Napoli would be okay for such deal. Because they want 100m pounds, right? I don't think these 2 players are worth 61m pounds in total. De Laurentiis would probably turn it down and he would like more cash.

I hope Manchester United start with a comfortable win - without conceding a single goal.    Mazraoui and de Ligt have been signed. They are making good moves to consolidate defense area. I would like to see it paying off as soon as possible.

Everybody is saying the same thing except just one person that is going the opposite direction and favouring Fulham for the win. Already preparing to go watch the game. All I just ask for is for the game to be entertaining and lots of goals to be scored. They need to set an example for the other games coming tomorrow so we won't be bored with boring games after waiting so long for the premier league return.

Manchester United vs Fulham

The team news given indicates Mazraoui is the only new signing that will start for Manchester United. Both Zirkzee and de Ligt are on the bench. As for the other new signing Yoro, he suffered an injury in pre-season.

The remaining opening games of the season will take place between this weekend and on Monday. I will add the full fixture list after the game this evening ends.

The premier league starts today again another season for the top teams to battle for the crown of the English premier league champion and the bottom teams to battle for who gets relegated, it would always be exciting but recently Manchester city has found a way to turn the robust league into a farmer's league.

Manchester United kick starts the league and even though I don't believe in their abilities I think they have all it takes to come out with the victory tonight

Fulham was oppressing Manchester United but as it is now Man U is winning the game with 1-0. And that is a good recommendation from them. J. Zirkzee scored the goal and was assisted by A. Garnacho. Nice goal and the Match is about about to end.

After watching a very boring start to the new season, I have concluded that if this is the way Manchester United play all season they will finish around 8th place. As for Fulham, even after the defeat it seems safe they should have no problem finishing the season outside the relegation zone.

Well done to all of the newcomers. Fulham record signing Smith Rowe will be important for them as they want to make sure they avoid a relegation battle. As for Manchester United congratulations to debut players Zirkzee for scoring and to Mazraoui for playing excellent in his defensive role.

Manchester United started with a really boring game. A win came at the end but this doesn't give good signals for rest of the season. But I'm still trying not to be prejudiced. We have just started. I think their defense will get stronger thanks to the recent transfers. I'm just not sure about the scoring skills yet. Zirkzee started well and we need to see him in the starting eleven. 

Lukaku and Cesare Casadei + cash and still they'll not okay with the deal? no problem, they should keep Victor Osimhen then. Napoli needs Lukaku and we're giving it to them for free and they still don't want the deal done, they're not ready then. I just like the way Chelsea are handling this transfer, they're not in a rush because they know Napoli desperately wants Lukaku and we taking Osimhen from them is basically doing them a favour.

Napoli should be more realistic with the number I believe. I know they don't want to see Osimhen going for cheap. But if they drop to a more sensible price then it wouldn't be a cheap deal anyway. If they want Lukaku this much then the chairman needs to be keen on finding a middle course on this.

Atleast 3 or more goals to make a statement for the season that they mean business. They can't be having an easy match and just scored 2 goals. That's poor from my perspective, I was most surprised with the Everton and Brighton game because I didn't expect it or be one sided and for Brighton to score that big. This was the suprise for me for this match day, what about you guys any surprises?

I am surprised Brighton totally dominated Everton and won 0-3 because after De Zerbi left to join Marseille I expected them to play more reserved and defensive. The new manager Hurzeler is young and energetic, a perfect replacement for De Zerbi. As for Everton, they need to forget this loss and look forward to the next game otherwise it could be a long difficult season for them.

Regarding Arsenal and Liverpool, I think they would be happy winning by two goals and keeping a clean sheet. The season has just started, they need time to settle down.

I had more hopes from Chelsea because of playing at Stamford Bridge. But their performance was a joke.    Jackson was no use and Palmer couldn't start very well. I still believe that sending Pochettino from the team while he was making progress was a huge mistake. Boehly will continue to be criticized if we don't see any proper improvement this year either.

Manchester City scored 2 goals with 0.82 xG. It wasn't one of their best performances but they got the 2-0 win anyway. Haaland is a beast and it is a good start to the season by a goal.

Brentford and Manchester City have made winning starts and that means Crystal Palace and Chelsea have lost their opening games.

Chelsea were at home to Manchester City and were under pressure to ensure at the very least they earned a point but they did not find the back of the net when they clearly should have scored. On the positive side, Chelsea were controlling large large parts of the game especially when they were a goal down and did not give up even after conceding their late second goal. Manchester City will face tougher opponents during the season but they are still the team to beat.

We're already controlling games more than we ever did under Poch. We lost against the top side in the league; and we're looking forward to the next game. If you had watched the game objectively, you would have seen that we were just unlucky not to win, not because we were bad.
