Firstly, massive respect to the Super Falcons for clinching the WAFCON title. The girls played with heart and showed true class. A proud moment for Nigeria, no doubt. But something keeps bothering me... During that final, lasers were visibly pointed at our players, you could see it clearly in several photos and videos that's been circulating the media space. That kind of distraction is dangerous and completely against fair play.

What’s more worrying is that despite all the noise from fans, coaches, and even media, CAF hasn’t said a single thing about it yet(at least the last time I checked). So now I’m wondering, are they planning to just sweep it under the carpet?

I think that CAF has been a major problem when it comes to indiscipline in African football especially when it comes to things like this and these North Africans are good in doing it there are things that you don't need any complaints from any body to take action because it's too obvious and the whole world was watching the shameful act , these north Africans always deploy one antics or the other to frustrates their opponents especially in the CAF champions League like delaying the opposing team and falling to the ground when they are leading in a game delaying time and most times the referees fails into these things by giving cards to opposing players

I most say that Nigeria players has done it again i was really happy to see them play well and ended the games with a good goals count, at first it i was worried when Morocco took 2-0 lead in the finals

The super falcons are always making us happy, most people gave up on them after conceding two goals in the first half of the match, I never expected such a good performance from them in the second half of the match, they scored 3 goals in the second half of the match, and thats was able to give them victory in the match. I heard they have been awarded with money and a house each, seriously they really deserve any gift given to them.

Even after conceding two goals in the match, the super falcons were still confident in themselves, they had the believe that they will be able to win the match, and they worked towards it, and they were able to achieve that, all the players really played well in the match.

I don't blame them though, it's Fifa that doesn't invest too much in African leagues. If this happens in Europe, that person would have face life ban from coming to the field and I'm sure other people will learn from it and stop the act too. You no fit even try bring this kind thing comes field in other countries because you are going to be search, final matches are always tough to monitor and such tight security is always put in place but because it's  us why it's happening.

They are lucky that we won by the way otherwise I Trust Nigerians, they will accept the defeat but they will make sure justice is served but since we win, I'm not sure if the management will do anything about it. It's their country, they are going to use it as an excuse to cover up. Don't be surprised if they don't even say anything. I once wrote in this thread that I was ready to bet my entire life savings for the super falcons to win against morroco in the finals. On that day of the Match, my stake in that game was very huge for the super falcons to win. Just like you I refuse to loose hope on our girls the moment they started loosing. I know what the super falcons are capable of unlike the super eagles that are lagging behind. The girls were able to turn the game around to their own favor even when morroco fans were trying to distract them by pointing  lasers lights directly into their eyes. It is fine to have as much fate we will want to have on any team at all, but not to the extend of having to stick out our neck for them is absolutely certain for a victory from them on a matc. I no that whenever rivals points at the opposite players sometimes means something either is an expression of dislike or other reason but on this case I don't think it would be taking serious because somebody could easily defend themselves in saying another reason why pointing at them, perhaps this could have been given attention if that was the group stage because they might definitely meet again but on the contrary that was the finals because after that day it will be the end of the season and they would have to rest for months before another new league will start again so actually is not necessary to take action.

Moroccan football federation filing a case before FIFA questioning the eligibility of Michelle Alozie and Ashleigh Asumptre  allegiance to play for Nigeria is a case dead on arrival. They initially did this before the finals thinking it could distract the players performance but it never bothered them because they were focused and determined to lift the trophy. Although news has it TFS Asumptre was emotional about it during the finals morning training but I am happy she didn't allowed it to bother her.

However I am curious to ask because it was the same FIFA that gave both players clearance to switch allegiance to play for Nigeria and it is the same FIFA that is still giving such petition attention when they were the one that cleared both players for the engagement. Now it is established that after the judgement that is when the winner of the trophy would be given the $1 million awards which would cause a delay for the team in receiving their prices. Is it right for FIFA to entertain such a petition?

Even after conceding two goals in the match, the super falcons were still confident in themselves, they had the believe that they will be able to win the match, and they worked towards it, and they were able to achieve that, all the players really played well in the match.

The motivation the players have is what win them the match, they believe they can do it that’s why they never gave up until the comeback was complete.

The Super Falcon’s victory reminds me of the 1996 Olympic where the Super Eagles of Nigeria won ahead of Brazil and other big countries in the whole world. The team has motivation then, the players were willing to win the title because they knew that many people across the world is not in support of Nigeria, only African and few countries across the world.

If the Super Eagles of Nigeria can take a lesson from these girls, they should be able to make us proud also because we need to be happy in football in sports .

I can't stop laughing seeing the post of someone who wants to stake with all the amounts he has for the super falcons to defeat Morocco in the finals that's very funny if you ask me like you trusted the team that was down to 2:0 before coming back to win 2:3?. If CAF will boldly say they are not aware of this very act then they are not as active as we expect them to be because how can this very incident be happening on the last day of the competition and they are not aware, this is not the first time Morocco fans are doing this to the Falcons. They know they can't beat Nigeria so distracting the players is the only way, the tension of the stadium is enough to make the players be distracted. The way the Moroccan fans behave towards the Nigeria Super Falcons is bad, and it's not a good sign of sportsmanship, and for CAF not to have released any official statement concerning the incident shows that they aren't happy that the Nigeria Super Falcons won the Women's African Cup of Nations. Even though CAF hasn't said anything about it yet, I am not bothered because the Nigeria Super Falcons won the Women's African Cup of Nations, and I am satisfied with that.

Every established organisation have rules that must be followed. CAF has a disciplinary arm that acts like a law court. For the law to take its course there must always be a plaintiff and defendant. CAF needs evidence from the Nigerian team to establish that a wrong was done. If there is nobody to testify that these laser lights affected their performance negatively, then there is no case. In this situation,  I don't blame the organisers.

I watched the English female national team that recently won the European championship parading in the streets of London in an open bus. The NFF also added a parade of the Super Falcons and the trophy in the streets of Abuja. Current report is that it was cancelled due to heavy rain.

I might be wrong but I was wondering if the government couldn't improvise any means of doing the parade. Nigerians would have even appreciated a parade in a closed bus.

Although no one can control the weather, I was expecting that they would improvise. Even when they don't do it the day that was assigned because of rain, what happened to the next day. To them, as far as they have given them cash gifts and houses, that's enough.
I could be wrong but I've not heard where there was a parade done by the Nigerian women when they win trophies, I don't even know if the men do it too.

I agree with you on all you said and is like the Falcons are comfortable with what ever distractions the Moroccan fans are throwing at them so is nothing serious but is really we the supporters that are seeing all these things and complaining at the same time which is normal. If nobody reports the issue then no case but do you know that if it was we Nigerians that showed this kind of display and it favored us so many times there would have been a case even before this just concluded tournament? That's African for you. But it seems we Nigerians are ok with whatever some of our African Countries are dishing out for us unless it gets to a critical point that's when we have to complain or maybe react, by then the damages has already been done. I'm saying this because if we had lost the title you'd hear more of the complains that it was what they did that cost us the title, thats no way to handle business, start early before it becomes too late.

The award to each Falcons is not a bad idea, the girls deserve the credit, I think the reason why people are criticism what the President did is because of how the country is situation is going, every day the president are complaining that there is no money in the country to the extent of delaying civil servants monthly, the president is also complaining that there is no money that is why things in the country are not going well, things are getting expensive every day, and after giving the girls that huge money and you want people to keep quiet?

The President regime is very bad and corrupt that is why people are panicking about award, some people said that the money can solve some problems in the country and that is true, news are coming out from different angles that the president borrowed money for the benefit of the country, and yet nothing change in the country, I will not blame those who are not happy about the award, because of how the president is treating them, but for me the girls deserve the award, from 2:0 down and later wins the match 2:3 is not easy our Super eagles can not do it.

Nobody said it's important. I just highlighted it because it was part of the programme of the NFF for the Super Falcons. It's part of football culture that champions will parade around a particular area where the fans will cheer them on. It's not compulsory but it's usually a beautiful and exciting experience.

I know if it was the Super Eagles that were 2 goals down in the first half against the Moroccan men, they wouldn't have come from behind to beat the Moroccan men in the second half, but let's stop talking down on the Super Eagles because they are also trying their best to put Nigeria on the map when it comes to African and international football. I thought the winner between the Moroccan women and the Super Falcons would be decided in extra time, but the Super Falcons were able to score a third goal and take the lead in the dying minute and edge the Moroccan women to win the Women's African Cup of Nations.

Let be honest with ourselves here for once bro. Super eagle players are not trying anything to put the country ahead when it matters. Majority of them are just after personal ambitions and don't care about the team. Only few of them are playing and willing to sacrifice for the team. When we talk about dedication and commitment, it will be an insult to our ladies to compare them with our men squad. I'm not trying to look down on them or to discredit their effort but it's just the fact. A closer observation on our guys will show you that they are more dedicated to their clubs than they are to our national team.

You clearly understood what I mean the super eagles of Nigeria are never determine when it comes to playing for the country it's only few of them that always brings in their mind to play for the country when ever there is any competition like Victor Osimhem he is always determine to play for the country, you only see them perform well in their various clubs that's were you will see them perform well. The super Falcons are really representing the nation when it comes to time like this, they really put smiles on our faces winning the Moroccan ladies 3-2 was one of their best comeback in history if not the best.

If CAF takes the matter easily, they will not proceed with it. Because they may have taken the matter lightly. Since Morocco did not win in the final despite performing well, some of their fans lost their emotions, which is why they behaved badly. It seems to me that CAF is not taking any action considering this issue. They are trying to look at the issue with an amnesty. If CAF takes this seriously and protests accordingly, the possibility of such behavior in the future would have been reduced.

The super falcons played wonderfully on the league, and I don't have any problem with their rewards, they really deserve it because other nations are doing the same to their players, and assuming they represented Saudi Arabia with kind of their performances on this WAFCON, I'm sure the rewards would be more than that. My issue is with our president, who I think granted them such large prizes to show gratitude for their efforts, but I just wonder whether the army and other security forces they used to fight national insecurity are not deserving of such recognition. because if that amount is awarded to ordinary football players, which even if we lose it cannot cause us that have passion for football pain for just a day or week, the same or less rewards is expected to be provided to these security agents living in the bushes for security purposes.
