It seems most of Africa have not yet forgiven Jamie Carragher for disrespecting the AFCON earlier this year. After Senegal won England 3-1 yesterday, El Hadji Diouf called out Jamie Carragher and I’m sure the former Liverpool player would have seen it by now.

I saw that shit Jamie Carragher spewed about the AFCON, he is nothing but a bloody twat. We can't take advice from someone who doesn't know what it means to play the AFCON, what it means to win that competition,  he can say all he likes. I didn't see that game but congratulations to them, they have just sent a clear message to that brain dead pundit who thinks he knows shiit. I wouldn't use that lose to judge Thomas Tuchel in between. Great manager!!

As an African, i can understand what it feels like for a major competition like the AFCON to be disrespected, but then I had to look at the person who was making that disrespectful remark and it was Jamie Carragher, the Liverpool defender that we as all saw during his prime who wasn't among the leagues of defenders if we are to count good defenders during his playing time despite the fact that he was playing for Liverpool, of course El Hadji Diouf knows his teammate and he is sending those words to him. But another another angle to the whole drama is the fact that Jamie Carragher has apologized for those remarks, but then is still in the minds of people because is not something that should be coming out from the mouth of a career football player like Carragher, some words are like a broken Glass, no matter how you try to amend it, there will still be some cracks, but then, this is just a friendly game and the need to show sportsmanship should be shown by Diouf.

Senegal took that game personally and proved to them that Afcon is no small competition.  I expect nore during the world Cup we have a lot to prove making it to around the semi-finals or quarter finals will add respect to the African Cup of Nation.

Ironically, Senegal got a draw few days ago against Ireland then knocked England by 3 goals to one. I am aware that these games are friendlies but it shows at the same time the instability of the English team.

Unfortunately Nigeria is still in a tough condition of not qualifying in another world Cup again which is totally disappointing. We ought to be doing well to make names for Africa but unfortunately I can't depend on my Nation for this, I think Morocco or Senegal will do much better.

Nigeria lost a lot of its power comparing to the old good days even though they have good players playing in Europe. Right now I don't see them progressing a lot if ever they could qualify to FIFA World Cup.
Morocco, Egypt, Senegal might have better accomplishments than Nigeria.

Unfortunately the Nigeria super Eagles are like the England male squad, both having excellent squad but can't work really well together as a team, although we're in a more disappointing state than the England team.
We need to do better if we want to come back to our best and win National trophies then stand tall as the African giants indeed.

Hey Agbamoni, so what you are saying is that any football fan who doesn't know that England and Senegal played a friendly match was busy getting a message from an OS? The England squad is filled with superstars that play for top clubs in the top 5 leagues in Europe, but England always struggles and finds it difficult to win matches even when they play against weak European countries, so I believe Senegal can still beat England in the World Cup if they meet.

I love that Senegal was able to make a statement with this game, even if it was a friendly game such that most persons are considering it as not a really serious one but then a win is a win and so they also passed a message via that game to their European counterparts that they are no less back here in African and cannot be underestimated as a team, interestingly both teams did played with their squad and so we cannot say any teams was a in a lesser capacity than the other and so it was a fair competition and Senegal did won.

Although the Eagles has got poor performance and have not been impressive enough but then they still have chance at the world cup and so we shouldn't loose all hope just yet on them already because they still have the chance for qualification, lets stay positive and optimistic and hope the green flag flies up there in the world cup .

African countries don't need to prove anything to Jamie Carragher, who has more own goals for Liverpool than goals, or to anyone who thinks that AFCON is not a competitive tournament because deep down we know how competitive the AFCON is and a lot of talented players take part in it. When Cameroon won Brazil it was in a world cup match in Qatar, world cup tournament happens to be the biggest stage of football. I doubt anybody had ever expected Cameroon will ever win Brazil in a world cup competition, due to how strong Brazil is when it comes to football. So I believe that if Senegal can beat England in a friendly match, they can beat them in a competitive match. Had England won we wouldn't be talking like this. We would have been causing Senegal for not rising to the occasion. Now they won, let's give them the accolades they deserves and stop changing the narrative. Senegal deservedly beat England, they beat the best England had to offer. They were serious and there was nothing they could have done more to win Senegal.

The England - Senegal game just got interesting as Jude Bellingham’s goal was disallowed after a VAR check. That goal if allowed to stand would have given England the equalizer.

Edit: Senegal just scored in the last minute of extra time. The score is 1-3. Senegal truly deserves this win.

Senegal has won England the first time on this international friendly, it was very emotional seeing joy of each and every Senegalese because the history will have it that they have won England in a certain year, even if somebody does not care about friendly match but this match has an interesting performances from unexpected players, so actually even if Bellingham goal was giving to England it would have still been 3:2 against them because a few moments after that a new goal was scored by Sabaly, Harry Kane could not stop the Senegalese.

Senegal national football team Played very well against England national football team and that was one sided match because Senegal national football team did 3 goals in this match and these were back to back goals and they applied pressure when opponent team did goal at the start of match and  Kane was a person who did first goal of the match and he did this goal at  7 minutes when match was started but after that we saw goal from Senegal  football team and Sarr did second goal of the match and he did this goal at 40 minutes and after that we saw  2 goals in the second half.Diarra was a person who did third goal of the match and he did this goal at 62 minutes when second half was started and  Sabaly did last goal of the match.

These were players that bad government would have deprived us of. Both Calvin Bassey and Alex Iwobi, even when they had the chance of representing other well-organised countries, decided to represent the Super Eagles. Calvin is not doubt a good and consistent defender. His strength and confidence made him be nicknamed "Nigeria Paolo Maldini. African players are doing great things in Europe and are hoping that next season will be better. Congratulations to Calvin Bassey.

I'm not surprised that Calvin Bassey was named Fulham player of the season because Calvin Bassey really performed wonderfully well for Fulham, and he helped Fulham win so many matches this season. I don't know why I read a lot about African football players should be better...etc while they are indeed but the best players are being detected earlier and legally bribed to join an European team and live in Europe. If these players are very excellent they will get nationality and defend that nation football team. Obviously the remaining players in Africa will have lower qualities than these and will play in limited conditions. This is happening in football but could be expanded to other domains and other third world, they say, continents.
I like French media personally, when an African player score, it is the French team that got the advantage and when this poor guy miss a penalty for example, this African origin boy that should be blamed. So it isn't surprising to hear anything from European media!

From what I know Jamie Carragher is on person that talks from both side of his mouth and his hate towards our African players and AFCON shows that he had an unending beef with some of our legends Jay Jay Okocha once a point in that regard. El Hadji Diouf knows him better having played with him during their time in Liverpool so I think we should just try and get things right in the AFCON so that all the side talks can stop coming we really need to do better.

But the issue is for the other players who are doing good in their various club side, it would be good to replicate that style of play, that form and that seriousness they put in their club side to the national team, if they continue with this great form in the national team I don't see why we should be struggling with nations like Rwanda or Kenyan and some other nations in Africa, we should be matching up with the likes of Morocco, Senegal even the Ivory Coast but all the same congratulations to Calvin Bassy.

I was expecting someone to speak on his performance based on the appearance in the national team and you did exactly.

There is much sense in what you have said so far. We the fans expect that the same way the Super Eagles player are performing in their individual team they should do same in the national level. But as for Bassey, he has always played so well in the national level. I wont say he has been poor, maybe what we need is for more players to put in more energy and we will be unstoppable.
