Can you consider to edit the current topic of the thread to reflect the FIFA club world cup. We have 4 clubs from Africa representing in USA.

• Egypt's Al Ahly
• South Africa's Mamelodi Sundowns
• Wydad Casablanca of Morocco
• Esperance of Tunisia

The Egyptian Premier League club Al Ahly FC are doing well in the tournament. Wayad Casablanca are in the most difficult group, they will face Juventus, Manchester City, and United Arab Emirates club Al Ain. I doubt the Moroccans can make it past group stage. In my opinion Mamelodi Sundowns F.C. and Al Ahly FC are the two African clubs to look out for in this competition.

I agree with you analysis. Wayad to me seem the best African club that featured in this Club world cup, maybe in the same level with Sundowns but they are unlucky to be in a difficult group with European top clubs.
I wouldn't just be happy if the 4 African clubs are eliminated in the group stage. Despite the fact that Africans don't invest much in football, atleast Sundowns is supposed to qualify from the group stages.
This competition could be a wake-up call to African countries to standardize their league so that we can have better and increased number of representatives by 2028.

I remembered receiving Al Ahly notification on my Livescore app. Al Ahly played today against Palmeiras, and they lost by 2 goals. This is match 2/3 already, next game will be against Porto, and i have the feeling that they can't beat Porto. Porto winning will be 4 points in total, waiting to see results from Inter Miami and Palmeiras, it will be a tricky one for Porto and Al Ahly playing 3/3 from Group A, as there is very little possibility to qualify.

Al Ain and Wayad Casablanca has gotten a group no club like them would want to be because they have Manchester City and Juventus on the same group and there is no how this two will succeed with Manchester City watching them, today was with Al Ain and Juventus and as i have been skeptic about other clubs on the Juventus group they have just won with 5:0, Wayad Casablanca is not also ready enough yet to Juventus as they are up against each other because they also did not make it when Manchester City meet them and it was two then but this will definitely be more than.

I think it is not necessary for CryptopreneurBrainboss to edit the current topic of the thread to reflect the FIFA Club World Cup competition because this thread is mainly for African football discussion, and it won't make sense if another competition is being added to the thread. We can discuss African clubs in the Club World Cup competition here any time they have a game in the Club World Cup competition since they are representing Africa, which goes with the topic of the thread.

Football fans can be mean sometimes but it's still understandable since it's all part of the passion they have for the team that's making them to say these things as for victor Boniface, there is absolutely no doubt that he is an exceptional player but sometimes player don't tend to blend very well in the national side since like you said it's something they all come together in a short time and play together.

It happens in every part of the world, Boniface should not take it to heart. Nigerians love the player all we request is for him to perform like we had expected. If Boniface can improve in his games, with current massive hate, it will be the same praises Nigerians will give to him if he begins playing well for the team, take Osimhen for instance, whole Nigeria brags about Victor even in games when we did not win.

What i have to say concerning this issue on ground as a matter of discussion is that, first we should not be moved by the crowd, because anything can come form them and this alone could be discouraging, but believe me, if he said he has hanged his boot for playing for Nigeria, then improve and get back on track in his career in his Club outside, then one day, Nigerians will pray for his come back, he does not score a goal in Nigeria does not proof his professionalism being questioned, this is what we talked about, sometimes the players have to coordinate themselves and get used to each other, just like the way most of them play for their clubs.

It would be shame if all the African teams are eliminated from the tournament so early. I watched the Real Madrid vs Al-Hilal match on Wednesday, those guys played Real Madrid like they were a lesser team. I confirmed that day that the Saudi Pro League isn’t one to mess around with. I’m hoping that one day my country Nigeria will value the NPFL and develop them to meet global standards that can rival the likes of Real Madrid.

The west and East African countries will need to put more efforts in their mode of play, welfare packages for their players and overall not being sentimental in their choice of players when bringing up a formidable squad to represent them in any competition. They should rather be an encouragement to other continental club teams to follow in their ways of playing a football that includes the spirit of high sportsmanship. I hope to also see them playing in the next Club World Cup matches, hopefully we see a familiar club from west Africa to also root for as a whole as they play in the competition by next time the competition is going to be featured again.

I believe all African clubs won't be eliminated from the tournament because Mamelodi Sundowns is likely to make it to the knockout stage of the Club World Cup tournament. Africans don't value football the way the Western countries value football, so your dream will never come true, and African players will keep going to Western countries where they value football to play football so that they can receive good wages and good treatment when they are injured.

I hope so, i still believe that in life, nothing good comes easy, if they can give out the total commitment needed, then they can achieve to any extent in proving the giants of Africa, because this is not by title alone, but those who are ready to deliver and bring back the glory of Africa, so i also look upon that time coming soon, if we can birth some world top most recommended players in Africa, then we should be able to go far in the World Cup.

Wydad Casablanca performance against Manchester City was above my expectations and I can't take away the fact that we probably underestimated them before the game because of where they are coming from but watching them withstand Manchester City despite conceding 2 goals in the game shows how strong they are. I wasn't surprised to see them matching City because Manchester City is not as good as before but the underdog team showed a good fighting spirit in the game until the full-time.

Yes I was impressed by their performance if not of some missed chances wydad would have even scored so I was really impressed their performance was above average because they went tow to tow with Manchester City what they lacked was a good striker infront of goal

Probably the best pick from the African extraction, but I doubt if all of them would make it through to the next round but I think a couple of the African teams might produce some shocking results in favour of the African contingents, team like Mamelodi sundowns and Al Ahly might make it through to the play offs due to the strength of their squad and the level of their exposure. It's likely they will.

I was also expecting them to register one goal but you know how it is when and underdog team is playing a more balanced team they may have the opportunity to control the ball but the chances to put the ball at the back of the net is usually their problem. The performance of Wydad Casablanca also exposed the weakness of Manchester City which shows they the team still has a lot to work on before the next season begins if they play against a good team they can't escape getting defeated.

Africa is a continent where football is loved and enjoyed by almost everyone however our problem is that our government or leaders are not investing on football they forget that if they invest very well on football it can bring them huge resources in return, Europe are making huge amount of money from football and right now they are seen as one of the place where football is more valued.
In my country Nigeria our league is nothing to write home about why because of insecurity and bad stadium, since there's insecurity fans will not go out to watch matches, for example the killing that happened in benue state where a lot of people where killed and burn so you think if match is been hosted in that state people will be interested to go the answer is know, and again there are a lot of bad stadium that will make fans uncomfortable this has resulted to a lot of people refusing going to the stadium to watch football, when this are been looked into football league will start functioning fine.
We have a lot of wonderful players that can make watching our leagues interesting.
