Nigerian players will never sees to be better. Calvin Bassesy was nominated on April with other Fulham players for the player of the season. Today he was annocued he is the winner of this year player of the season. A big congratulation to our Naija brother Keep making us proud Bassey.

Well, I am, if you are not, because I noticed Alex Iwobi more, or maybe I did not see enough of Fulham's game to notice his contribution. Congratulations to him still; Nigerians generally made notable performances in all their teams.

What I hope for him is that he be able to keep and maintain a high performance next season so that he can begin to attract attention from bigger clubs both in England and in other leagues.

You're correct that Boniface isn't a first eleven player in the Super Eagles team but there's a hierarchical set-up in the Nigeria male senior national team in terms of substitution or rotation of players or either by injuries leading to the absence of the top players. For a clear example; we all know that Boniface hasn't been giving an A-level performance in the national team as he does in his club but still the coach had to fill him next in the absence of Osimhen instead of trying Arokodare who has been better in the green shirt in his few caps more than Boniface with higher appearances.

But the issue is for the other players who are doing good in their various club side, it would be good to replicate that style of play, that form and that seriousness they put in their club side to the national team, if they continue with this great form in the national team I don't see why we should be struggling with nations like Rwanda or Kenyan and some other nations in Africa, we should be matching up with the likes of Morocco, Senegal even the Ivory Coast but all the same congratulations to Calvin Bassy.

But as for Bassey, he has always played so well in the national level. I wont say he has been poor, maybe what we need is for more players to put in more energy and we will be unstoppable.

I think it’s annoying how African players have given to much in improving European football and in return no support comes from Europe. People like Jamie Carragher that say stupid things are the ones who get top positions in football shows, and they refuse to acknowledge the efforts of African players but quickly sing the praises of mediocre English players.

First of all this is still a rumour, I heard that he later came out to debunk that rumour that he had retired from our super eagles team, but with time everything regarding his future with the super eagles will be much clearer.
Then as for his super eagles form, I think I have said it countless times here that for his form to improve in the colors of our super eagles, he must adjust his game, the physicality in African football is troubling him, he needs to be more physical in the way he plays, that's why victor osimhen find it more easier to play than him, because victor osimhen knows all of what African football is all about.

He would have been a little bit patient and by now he would have been seeing more matches since there is some level of meritocracy in the team now unlike before where there were lots of political interest playing out. Since that is his personal decision, the best we can do is to respect it and wish him well. The Super Eagles as it is today is not lacking much because in the defense we have Ekong and in the middle we have Lookman, Iwobi and other great players. We have to no that this two players doesn't share the same position and each of those positions has it own way of handling but if considering by perfection on the various positions each of them plays, Bassey performance defines his experience in the position rather than Iwobi, the Haaland you mentioned is another way to see the best in bassey this last season because with all the strength and capability of Haaland, bassey alone made him unimportant on the match because Haaland could not feed Manchester City with passes as usual. Bassey is one of the player that doesn't give everybody a thing to underrate him.

We were very close last AFCON competition to winning the trophy but we lost in the final. My point is focused on the fact that we are very close, we have the right players, we have a qualified GK so I think we are close in winning something good.

One reason I will never prefer the home based players to players who are playing in top leagues is that they lack experiences. In international games like the World Cup need players who have played with other top players that knows there strength and weak points. Another reason is that the home based players are most times selected through politics. You know what I mean.

Our coaches have learned a bad habit of not looking at the local league to scout for young talent, they just seat tight and give invite to players that might not be even doing well in there clubs in Europe. The statements I highlighted on your comment is very wrong. Tow whom much is giving much is expected. Honestly, those players playing in European team have more reasons to show why they are better off than the others.

On so many occasions these players I mentioned has done well in the Super Eagle's team which almost everyone of us here can attest. Calvin Bassey is one of the important defender that have some improvement in these recent years right from his time at Ajax and now he is doing really well in Fulham, he will likely get a better team soon especially in the Premier League, and he will be of great help to the Super Eagles team because he has improved in his performances.

Another player that also improved in the EPL is Ola Aina, he will also help the Super Eagles team to make reform well in their upcoming competitions.

However, the Nigerian midfielders are our main problem now, we need creativity in the midfield so that our good wingers and strikers can convert their chances.

You want to trust what comes out from the mouth of Boniface, aside being a footballer we know how of a comedian he is, about the jokes people advices him to focus more on playing football than the way he creates jokes and contents, i don't think any of those affects his performance because in his club level he has been impressive.

Most performance from a player comes with time and season, we never know if we give him more time, he can do a turnaround and become better. Our prayers will be high during this period that Osimhen doesn't get injured before any international game.

Maybe you used to watch Fulham matches anytime they were playing against big teams in the Premier League; that is why you didn't notice the wonderful work Calvin Bassey did for Fulham this season, and that is also why you were surprised when you heard Calvin Bassey was named Fulham player of the season.

Victor Boniface's reason for quitting the national team might be due to injury and not what most of us think. His career has not been smooth sailing. He's been in and out of the team because of injury. Last season, he was hit with series of injuries that kept him out for most part of the season, which also affected his performance. Maybe he was forced to take this decision because of his reoccurring injuries.

Well when they fuck up, they pretend to hang around the international clubs, sometimes they can twist the story making it sound and look as if it the underpain package from the local football body that discourage them from featureing in their country games any more., the reality sometimes is that, they actually have lost favor in the players and local supporters eye because of they poor performance in games on the past.

I get your point and is that quality players and good goalkeeper that you said we have that is annoying me in the sense that we hardly see those qualities on the pitch when it matters only on paper that we are the best or favorite in some games, what's the point of having a complete squad but we can not dominate a single game and you'd agree with me that even when the Super Eagles are winning by a goal to nil and is 80 to 88mins that we the support are not comfortable that the opposition team won't get an equalizer, if they are as good as we praise them the confidence level would be high for we the fans. I can't sit in a viewing center and say Nigeria can draw this game when the time is 80mins because I know they have a high chance of messing up the lead so they are not giving their all I mean some players.
I agree with you, that same political selections from the home based player to join the Senior boys do happen with the foreign based players too in as much as they have experience with the other players outside Nigeria, no player is safe and you see this political involvement that's what is killing our league and the main team (Super Eagles).
Coaches are not meant to do their job the way they know how to, is either they select players to invite of you lose your job, that's why we can't keep some of the best coaches because the instructions are too much and not in favor or the coaches.
