You beat me to this . I am hearing about the Unity Cup for the first time. And more surprising is that Nigeria came in as the defending champions. They won in it I'm 2004. And after about 19 years, they are winning it again. How many of bet on this game? Jamaica is not a strong team but they came prepared as it was penalties that determined the winner. I didn't find any good information on what the Unity Cup is about and how teams are selected to participate.

Congratulations to our brother Victor Osimhen as he was named Galatasaray's best player of the year in the just concluded Turkish Super League. Victor Osimhen played a major role for Galatasaray and helped them win the Turkish Super League title, and he was also the top scorer in the Turkish Super League, so I am not surprised that he was named Galatasaray's best player of the year; it was a well-deserved award.

If he won the best player of the year at Galatasaray, and also the top goal scorer in the league, I was wondering who then won the best player of the year in Turkish league. We've seen more than enough of Oshimen at Napoli, so conquering the Turkish league was never a problem. The question now is, what's next?. There is already too many anticipations on his next move because Galatasaray isn't much of a top club when it comes to European football. It seems everyone wants to watch Oshimen in the Champions league and a more competitive league.

Whichever way, I hope he continues to maintain such performance both club wise and internationally. The criteria for the next African footballer of the year will be more interesting, because at this point, there are about 3-4 players that has done really well this season.

I never thought about who won the best player of the Turkish league when I was making this post, but when I read your post, I quickly researched it, and I found out it was Victor Osimhen who won the Turkish league best player award in the just concluded season. Unfortunately, our African players are not given much value in Europe. If Victor Osimhen were a European or Latin American player, many clubs would pay the amount that Napoli is asking for and would pay him the salary that he is asking for. I have already commented on this in the past. The amount of money that Chelsea spent last season on new signings exceeded the amount that Napoli is asking for.

In other words, if Chelsea were really interested in signing Victor Osimhen, they would have paid the amount of money that Napoli wants. Even Manchester United, Arsenal, and Manchester City are clubs that could easily pay the amount that Napoli wants. But I see that the big clubs are not interested in Victor Osimhen.

That’s true. Average European players get more hype and PR from the media and pundits than African players. To be at the level of an average European player you have to work thrice as hard and it still may not be enough. I believe Chelsea can afford to pay Osimhen what he is worth, they just don’t want to. I’d like to see how they make do with Palmer and Jackson next season.

A lot of African players helped their respective clubs win their league title, and some ended up winning the top scorer in the league they played, which will make it difficult to choose the next African best player because we have so many players who fit in to win the African best player award. Hakimi wouldn't only be nominated as the African best player if Paris Saint Germain wins the UEFA Champions League trophy, but the UEFA Champions League trophy will give Hakimi the edge to win the award over other nominated African players.

After Paris Saint Germain won Inter Milan in the Champions League final match yesterday and Hakimi scored their first goal of the game and made remarkable contributions for his team, the chances of him winning the Africa's best player award has increased but he still have until the end of this year to continue with his awesome performance for PSG before it can become clear if he will be the rightful player to win the CAF men player of the year awards. I think what will likely earn him the award is due to his composure and calmness on and off the pitch of play. Winning the treble for PSG is a great achievement for Hakimi and i believe all these records will count in consideration of emerging the Africa's best player, he just need to keep improving and should never decline in his performance.

For me it's pretty simple, the winner of this year's CAF player of the year award should be judged logically with the following points,  first I believe it should be about the value of the tournament won and the players involvement and level of participation too, if all of these criterias are put into consideration then I think Hakimi would be the most viable candidate to win this year's award because between all the candidates he has the most valuable laurel which is the champions League and he has quite an unusual number of goals and assists for a defender so I believe he is the best person to win it.

It's not today or this season that Hakimi has been performing well for PSG and helping PSG win trophies, so continuing his awesome performance for PSG won't be a problem because he's used to doing that at PSG. Hakimi is a defender, but his contribution for PSG this season is impressive, and his goal against Inter Milan in the UEFA Champions League final helped PSG to gain full control against Inter Milan last night. Mo Sallah and Victor Osimhen performed well this season for their respective clubs, but the UEFA Champions League trophy Hakimi won with PSG has made him stand tall for the African Best Player award.

There is nothing to be disappointed about it's clear that the premier League teams doesn't want to spend money for oshimen to come over to England and Napoli too is not ready to agree with his conditions so you don't expect oshimen to dance to their tune he should stand his ground I don't see what again oshimen is to prove that he has not proven in napoli, French and German y that he has played for.


Oshimen should go to Saudi and collect the big pay after all he needs it because back home he has family members waiting for him playing in the premier League is not a must and oshimen should not bring down his market value because of premier League

Osimhen situation in Europe is not clear and Juventus dropped their intention to persuade the player after some changes within the team and I don't recall seeing any offer for him except from Al-Hilal.
Al-Hilal are offering $120m for him for three years and they are willing to include him with Inter coach Simone Inzaghi, in addition to AC Milan player Theo Hernandez. Al-Hilal are trying to reclaim back their title in Saudi Pro League. Otherwise Osimhen is far from the Ballon D'Or, he was way better in three years with Napoli comparing to him right now and I believe he will try to secure his future financially rather than professionally.

Victor Osimhen is a player that can possibly help either Chelsea or Manchester United, who are still in their rebuilding stage, get back to their glory days and be a serious contender for the Premier League race next season, but Chelsea and Manchester United are not showing any seriousness in signing Victor Osimhen this season. It's because Victor Osimhen is a Nigerian player, and that is the reason why he's finding it difficult to get a serious offer from top clubs in the top five European leagues.

Nigeria is currently participating in the Unity Cup competition.  It is a four-nation tour tournament that is hosted in the UK. Participating countries include Nigeria, Ghana, Trinidad and Tobago and Jamaica. The competition is designed to foster unity among nations' historical and cultural ties.  Nigeria struggled to beat the Black Stars of Ghana while Jamaica secured a win against Trinidad and Tobago.  Nigeria will now play in the finals with Jamaica in the finals.

Congratulations to Nigeria for winning the Unity Cup competition. Though the trophy was not so much recognized but the fact that it recorded a success is something to feel good about because it’s been a while since the Super Eagles recorded winning any international trophy so as a Nigerian I feel excited about this and hope we can build a competitive and winning mindset going forward.

He played in Italy, dominated the league, moved to the Turkish league and became the best player for the season, there is absolutely nothing to argue, all the proof has been laid.

Yesterday was CAF champions league final second leg between Pyramid FC an Egyptian team and Mamelodi Sundowns of South Africa. Pyramid FC won the match 2:1 at home against Mamelodi Sundowns. The first leg of the final was played in South Africa and the match ended 1:1, so the aggregated scoreline was 3:2 which was enough to crown Pyramid FC the champion of Africa.



I wonder how many of us watched that match. It was indeed an interesting match.
Since this thread is dedicated to Africa football, I decided to bring up this post here to let those that didn't watch the match that Africa have a new reigning champion.

Osimhen is an outstanding kind of player, i have the feeling that wherever he finds himself playing, despite how determined the league, nothing stops him from shining as a top striker. He is just too good and has always been bringing the trophy home for his club. Wherever he finds himself, he dominates not just in his club but the entire league. For now, I can't really tell where Victor Osimhen will be next season, but I would really prefer him to be in one of the big clubs in the Premier League. I think that is where he needs to be at this prime of his football career.

Many are speculating he will be playing in the Saudi Arabian league. I know the earnings there are very high, but for the sake of football records, he deserves to be in one of the best English teams to win more trophies.

Yes since there was no interesting match for me to watch yesterday I just decided to watch it besides no matter how uninteresting a match could be but whenever I see that is a final match I usually love watching because it will definitely be interesting and yes it was. Though I think it was a match a lot of people are not use to watching. However Mamelodi Sundowns fc had some good potential of finally wining the trophy on the second match based on how it turn out on the first leg but the lapses was too serious at the end of the game but Pyramid FC corrected it to be the same as them but this second time was no chance for Mamelodi Sundowns fc.
