Nigeria Government has been a problem to ex footballers from the onset. They always neglect them to suffer till die. And this is not the first time this has happened.

Duty of the government? It is not the duty of a government to cater to retired people other than the retirement money that they are getting. Why would it be different for sports players?

The problem of many African or even South American players is that once they pass from extreme poverty to being very wealthy, they lost their tracks completely and start spending like crazies, buying useless and/or costly stuff, addictions, women and other random things that destroy their carriers and make them broken.

That is a problem of those players. The government does not have a duty to bail them out for their bad behavior. Do you know that if they do, you are essentially taking money from poor people to rescue players that can't manage their money good? Let them destroy themselves if that is who they are. We should support those that don't and instead use their money to do good things. 

Since there is no regular salary with cut made to social security or other assurance agencies then obviously once the player retire, he will start losing everything

This is the main reason why some African and South American players today don't always play for fame because they know they are from poor backgrounds, and if they fail to accumulate enough money in their football careers and fail to invest some of the money, they might likely be poor after they retire from football.

When someone is paid so much on weekly, luxury or expensive things does not affect them so long as they are not spending half of there weekly pay a week, I no that a lot of them spend a lot but considering there pay they have not spent, although I don't think there is any of the Nigerian players who are like that after becoming successful because I cannot think of any of them who does that, although we are not with them to no how they spend there money but from the way we have been watching them on the pitch and sometimes there extracurricular engagement non of them has that kind of lifestyle.

But the same African manager spends a lot of money on trips to Europe. When the African player helps the national team win titles or qualify for the World Cup, they are not paid well. African managers think more about themselves than about the people.

Some people might see it as a witch hunt due to his refusal to remain in the Emirates. Let's not bring sentiment about race to bring here the world has gone beyond that I believe that before these allegations are coming there maybe something that is fishy that not everyone is seeing a clear conscience fears no accusations so if the matter get to the court it's based on evidence that the judge will give judgment.

Very sad and a great loss to Nigeria football family as one of the greatest goals keepers of all times passed away news had it that he was sick but no body expected this kind of unfortunate situation my condolences goes out to his family and the Nigerian football federation in general

I believe this Nigeria ex player has been sick for a very long time and no good medical attention was render to him it's such a pity to NFF and CAF at Large but I put more blame to NFF because they supposed to take care of the affairs of the ex Nigeria goalkeeper. As an African player or some one that came from a poor sometimes when on duty we are not supposed to play football for name  but for money so we won't go into any bankruptcy after retirement.
I remember formal Chelsea and Brazilian player Oscar giving a speech after leaving Chelsea to China he said he came from a very poor family that he need money and not fame that he has seen most Brazilian players go into bankruptcy after retirement that he wouldn't want such situations to happen to him.

You are correct  @Slow death and that's the truth most of the African players  are talented, and those African players who are talented in playing football never got any support from their governments in their days of their little beginning, it's when they will struggle by themselves and start playing in Europ, and become famous and rich then the  government of their countries will then recognise them as one of their citizen which is foolishness, funny enough when it's time for world cup or to win any title, that when the governments of their countries will be call on them to come play in the national team,  help them qualify for world cup or secure trophy. and another funny thing with the African government, the government will still end up not paying them well, And that is Africa for you.

buddy that is African managers for you they can never care about you who is the player, they only care about themselves, their owe is you as the player  just come and play in the national team and help them qualify for world cup or win any title that's all. And that's even the reason why most African players who are now playing in Europ don't usually answer the call of their countries when ever they call them to come play in world cup or to help them win any title.

Everything about this case is happening so fast and one would imagine how they have not brought up the allegations again since 2022 when he was granted bail. Now the player is no longer a player of Arsenal and all of a sudden we here that there are multiple sexual assault cases that has been reopened against him, I think something is fishy about the whole thing and only the player can really explain if Arsenal has been helping him to suppres the case or not.

That is the reason that you see most Nigerian players in their various club's performing very well but when they come to they home clubs the perform normal without any input and shows if lack of motivation, this is the impact of corruption in the management of the Nigeria football team, supper eagles are now vultures without any results lately, and past events shows a lot of discontented in management which is the major challenges facing the 9ja main team.

That's my question also, I'm not saying he did not do anything or even saying he actually committed those things he was accused of but  my only concerned is that from how many years ago all this things happened why didn't they press charges or report to the authority about what happened because those kind crime is what every system of government speak against so actually this matter should have been before now or perhaps was it an existing case on the court that hasn't been resolved till now?. I actually no the player as someone who is very talented in Arsenal.

It's still an accusation until he's proven guilty, whatever that may be the case to bring up this allegation on him, whether it's his refusal to extend his contract or not, The court is their for Justice to take course, a clear conscience fears no allegations. But if at all,  this is what he did, then regardless of whether he refuses to extend his contract he should go face the law, and if it involves him paying fine or a jail term, Then let him serve it.

You're right the court is the final say when it comes to litigations that involves serious accusations like this I just pray that there will not be any racial discrimination when it comes to justice delivery because am not too comfortable with the allegations that are coming now there was no agreement between Patty and arsenal football club

The Nigerian Falcons started the chase to regain the African title on a very good note. They defeated the Tunisian female national team in their first game today. Rinsola Babajide celebrated her goal by mimicking Diogo Jota's style in an emotional remembrance of the late Liverpool player. I heard about this allegations years back but then it was as if it died down and we never got to hear about how it ended. I was surprised to hear about it again on one of the sports news platforms am following on socials. This is very sad for someone like Thomas Partey and I am really hoping he's not found guilty, because this isn't one news we want to hear linked to our African players.

This is the first time I’m coming across this news. It’s sad that footballers/famous people often find themselves in these kinds of cases, the allegations may be true or false. I wouldn’t make judgement based on a post I just read without any knowledge of the details of the case. I’d let the court decide if he is guilty or not guilty.

I also saw the news some days ago but how true is it. It is difficult to trust anyone but i try to disagree he can do something like this after seeing how similar cases has been faced by other players. The majority of football fans have heard talked about consider it an allegation, i feel the same way that he wouldn't, suffering of being famous. The accusations with proclaimed evidence they say might be a set up, until he is proven guilty or not, every news sounds untrue.
