In my view, El Hadji Diouf did the right thing at the moment by calling out Jamie Carragher after Senegal won the England side, especially as Carragher being an English ex player. He needs to be reminded that he was wrong about his statement sometime ago regarding the AFCON. I also think that if it were the opposite, Carragher wouldn't have hesitated using the result to try to confirm his thoughts on the AFCON.

It was a regular team of England going against the regular team of Senegal so there are no such thing as going easy or taking it lightly. Its against sportsmanship if you knowingly go easy on your competitors. It was a game that Senegal won.
It's good for Senegal to win against England. It's a first time for them. This would also boost their morale for the upcoming qualifier games. They still have a chance to be qualified for world cup. England on the other hand is almost sure to be qualified for the world cup as they are top in Group K of the qualifiers.

I took, I didn't even know there was a game between England Vs Senegal, it's here I got to know of it with the score line. It's always normal for people to say things like this if there preferred team lost. If England had won against Senegal the narrative would have changed, it was even worse that Senegal came from behind to win as said in this forum. My only issue is with African teams that have refused to improve in themselves and work becoming strong enough to face any of the European teams while the opportunity comes. is this win even worth all this taunt? As far as I'm concerned, there's no advantage that the England team has over the Senegal team and same is what's the case with all the other African national team. It's just that our mentality is too bad that we always assume that we are always going to be behind in everything.

If we start to fight in getting consistent victory whenever we play against these guys, they will know better that we are not just an average team they can easily work over whenever they play against us. Wether England key players where in the match or not doesn't matter, what matters most is that senegal had the victory and for Jamie Carragher, okocha has already placed him in his place and so there's no point giving him more fame.

We cannot totally judge a team's performance through friendly matches because it's not a tournament, they might not put all their seriousness in the game. Aside from that a win remains a win so we need to applaud the Senegalese, team for beating a highly rated side like England, with a good margin, it'll be on record. It is quite sad when I see football analysts that underrates African football, it shows their level of ignorance because Africa, has world class players that are doing well in European clubs. England's squad depth is better than Senegal's squad depth, and since Thomas Tuchel failed to defeat a country like Senegal, which England is far better than, I don't see Thomas Tuchel performing better than Gareth Southgate as England's head coach. Inasmuch as football is concerned, every win counts whether it came from a competition or just a friendly game because the record will be included in the head to head of both teams. There are some countries, even clubs that don't allow a particular team to win them whenever they meet and it's not as if they can't win but just to keep that record. If England like let them give excuses for the lose against Senegal, it is what it is. Senegal can also celebrate the winning because it's not easy for an African team to win an European team like England that have one of the best squad in Europe but Senegal made a comeback after they conceded the first goal and was still able to defeat England in the friendly match. Even if it was Nigeria that got same privilege of winning England in a friendly game, they will still celebrate the win. About the English football analyst, Jamie Carragher's comment, it doesn't matter because anyone can say anything about football but the result in the pitch is what actually counts and not what anyone says.

Ironically, Senegal got a draw few days ago against Ireland then knocked England by 3 goals to one. I am aware that these games are friendlies but it shows at the same time the instability of the English team.

Nigeria lost a lot of its power comparing to the old good days even though they have good players playing in Europe. Right now I don't see them progressing a lot if ever they could qualify to FIFA World Cup.

This is the beginning of the end of the disrespect African teams receive from most of these Western sports pundits.  Senegal didn't represent a country but a continent (Africa). I watched the highlights of the game, and I saw how the Lions of Teranga gave the Three Lions a devastating win before their home fans. From what I saw in that game, Thomas Tuchel have lots of work to do because the English national team is in shambles. I am happy Senegal got this historic win with a local coach, Pape Thiaw.

There is this I don't forget culture that we have in Africa but what happen to 'old things are passed away'. Jamie made a mistake and what was expected of him was to apologize but he kept it to himself and make it his opinion while people see it as an offensive. As an Africa, we need to do better to give our own proper representation of trophies, you can see people fight for players when it comes to Balon D'or celebration but it's there own traditional trophy, they fight and becomes divided call it all sort of names and when outsider see this, they take this as right reference, that's what Jamie did with Afcon, he dare not disrespect it if other people hasn't done so. It was a deserving victory for the Senegalese. Senegal is not interested in banting compared to Nigeria, funny enough it was a victory for Senegal, but i have heard this topic talked about severally by Nigerians. First of all, it was Jamie underrating the whole Africa football, it isn't a one man headache, if we Africans can put our shit together, other continents won't look down on our projects.

Nigeria has better players than Senegal, it wouldn't take much effort to create something like this anytime we meet.
