Boniface leads to this discussion, let's be clear, Boniface is not among our starting lineup, he can be a starter for his club, but when it comes to the national club, he doesn't stand a chance against Osimhen who has always been our priority handling the role as striker and always delivered. More opportunities should be given, whereas we have the best player across different countries and clubs, imagine witnessing what a player contributes in his club matches, playing very fantastically then if the national team gathers, how do you intend to start a substitute over the big players, i think even the same fans will query why the top guys did not start.

The only way to solve the problem is by knowing when to make substitution, no player is above being subbed out. If the game begins and the big player isn't performing well, then he should be substituted, chances to play for the team should be rotated, and not attached to some set of players.

You're correct that Boniface isn't a first eleven player in the Super Eagles team but there's a hierarchical set-up in the Nigeria male senior national team in terms of substitution or rotation of players or either by injuries leading to the absence of the top players. If the England team doesn't care much about the result of the game since they only used it as an experiment for competitive matches, why then will Senegal boast about the win or did they get any award for winning England in the friendly game? I don't like when we always talk about players not taking friendly matches serious just because no competition is attached to it. Believe me even if it was to be a competitive match England cannot do better than they did and from my observations about the England team, they are slowly trying to have similar experience like Brazil because even with a lot of young and talented players in the England quad, though they make it far in competitive tournaments but winning the trophy becomes very difficult for them, i could remember how they performed in the EURO 2024 finals they played against Spain. Football is not like that, the Senegal team comprises of 12 players same with the English side, for the fact that the English side have a lot of European heavy profile players don't mean they easily walk over Senegal just like that. However Tuchel still needs time to set up a proper team he can call his own, we haven't seen much of him yet, so the comparison between Tuchel and Southgate is too early, let's give more time, just the way we gave Southgate lots of time to prove himself. It is just dissapointing that England dosent play well. Each year they have an amazing team on paper but cannot perform well. They are always struggling and winning by small amounts and today they lost against Senegal when everyone expected an easy win for England. I honestly dont see a bright future for England if they dont stop playing better

Seems like the glory days of the England football team is coming to an end or it already ended because the team performance is not encouraging. They keep falling short to the expectations of their fans and well-wishers which is very disappointing. Maybe their coach should look into doing more work and pick and ensuring he uses the right players for the right wing so as to utilise their maximum potentials during games.  The amazing team by paper should be put to an end this time.

It seems most of Africa have not yet forgiven Jamie Carragher for disrespecting the AFCON earlier this year. After Senegal won England 3-1 yesterday, El Hadji Diouf called out Jamie Carragher and I’m sure the former Liverpool player would have seen it by now.

Even though some people are saying England didn't play with their full energy against Senegal, that was the reason why Senegal beat England, but I love the way Senegal came from behind to beat England 1-3. Friendly matches have always been unimportant and professional players know this. Many of these good players don't put in the effort in friendly matches, which is why I'm not surprised by this defeat. This is normal, but if Senegal manages to qualify for the World Cup and beat England in the World Cup, then that would be considered a great achievement.

We Africans are content with little, just as they beat England in a friendly match, they are already celebrating as if they had achieved something great. We jump for joy when we qualify for the World Cup and set as an achieved goal whether the team will play well in the World Cup or not, it doesn't matter. We don't care about winning the World Cup, what matters is just qualifying.
