Another four years to wait to get kicked out another time without making it into the round of 16. Our African side, even for countries with progressive facilities, is not keeping pace very well with the world of football. How we lost in the opening round, no team from our continent was able to compete against others, we can be advancing with technology, but it takes a lot more to compete with the rest of the world.

We all feel the same way too. It can get better once we prioritize it. I will repeat it again that we cannot compare the budget for sports and development in African countries with that of high performing countries in the other parts of the world. And that is where you beginning to see why they have a better outing each them. Just recently, one of Nigeria's top track and field female athletes signed her allegiance to Turkey(don't know if this confirmed yet) but it boils down to the same issue of funding and the "anyhowness" that is characteristics of what we have over here.

I saw the news she has fully pledged to Turkey, reasons are because of disregard for sportsmanship. Africa don't realize what we have until we begin losing every of our sports man. I don't blame players in football who abandon playing for their origin and playing for Europe or Spain, if AASC generally, CAF or specifically NFF can take every course into study and give the players enough of what they want, in terms of sports, Africa would be on top.

Budget cannot be our problem, there is money in Africa to go round every sector just that things fell into wrong hands and is being mismanaged.

Borussia Dortmund players have been active playing football since last year, and they have not had enough rest after their league ended, and they start playing in the Club World Cup tournament, so it's normal that Borussia Dortmund won't perform well in the Club World Cup tournament because Borussia Dortmund players are tired and they need to rest. Yes, Mamelodi Sundowns tried their best and dominated Fluminense yesterday, and since Mamelodi Sundowns couldn't score a goal in the first half, I still had confidence that Mamelodi Sundowns would score a goal in the second half because of how they took total control of the match, but I was heartbroken when Mamelodi Sundowns couldn't break the deadlock in the second half, which made them not qualify for the knockout phase of the Club World Cup tournament.

Among all the African teams that came to this competition, it was mamelodi sundowns that did well the most  among them all, where their short comings came from which they paid for it in this final game against fluminense is that game against borussia dortmund that they lost, it was a game they shouldn't have lost, and I wasn't surprised at all for them not to be able to beat this fluminense side because the Brazilian team are actually good.
All the African teams have been knockout from their respective groups which is not a good one especially for African football, but that's what it is, they will all now goes back to the drawing board and re-strategize hoping to come back in the next edition of this tournament .

The Mamelodi Sundowns and Fluminense game is the only African game I watched in the Club World Cup tournament, and from the way Mamelodi Sundowns performed against Fluminense yesterday, I agree that Mamelodi Sundowns performed way better than the other African clubs that played in the Club World Cup, but it is so unfortunate that Mamelodi Sundowns couldn't make use of the opportunities they had against Fluminense to move to the next round of the Club World Cup and make Africa proud.

The problem is that people will always go to where they were being appreciated and valued, they also consider their career ambition in this regards, because when you have the ability to play well, then you will always bid for higher prospects that could help shine out your glory the more than staying where you may be least observed.

If our young talents coming up are fully onboard, they will also do the same because they want something more than what the country could offer, this is not to undervalue their country of the NFA capacities, but we are here to talk of the fact and about what each everyone of us could have acted also, if we were in the same condition.

Well I don't know how some of you guys will take this, but we have to tell ourselves the truth. This thoughts that Africa team tried in the FIFA Club world cup is really not sitting well with me. I don't see any trying they did there, It's a complete disaster that no team qualified from the group stage. Not even a team made it out, I wonder the kind of football that these African teams are playing. It's so disappointing and we need to let these teams know that they have disappointed us, instead of making them feel like they have done something good. A continent as big as Africa couldn't have one team qualified it's really bad if you ask me.

If we continue to tell ourselves of something that hasn't been proven on this Africa concerning our football system we might just be misleading ourselves because not all the African countries are rich on sports and I could even use Nigeria as an example because we only have money as a country but one of the poorest to finance there football, individually there are so much love to have a career in soccer but considering the poor rate of payment in football here is difficult, so actually budget can stand as a big problem in affecting some person decision, so perhaps money could also be the reason for this.

The problems with African clubs from what I see is the lack of good players not because African countries don't have many of them but because most of them go undetected due to the lack of money to buy clothes and shoes, to the lack of academies and especially affordable ones, without that you will not push enough good players to pop up, then comes salaries that is way disastrous to attract these people who could move to another job for leaving or move outside of Africa if he is lucky enough, mainly to Europe.
All these difficulties show why the African clubs fail to stay competitive comparing to Brazilian teams for example, to not say European teams.

Believe me when I say this, Dortmund has lost that spark in them 100%  and it will take them a very long time before they can get back to that winning ways, haven't you seen how weak they perform in their league that they can't be seen as a worthy competitors against the likes of Bayern Munich, Bayer Leverkusen even Leipzig can be seen as a better competitors for the Bundesliga title. Dortmund needs a coach that can spread the way they play and not any how coach, let's say Jose Mourinho can transform Dortmund for good.

If you want to be the best you have to beat the best hope you remember that? You talk about ATM not doing well because they play in the same league as Barcelona and Madrid and I have to remind you that in la Liga, they only have 3 big teams who are seen as the best like when you want to say teams to compete for the title you have to mention these 3 teams, now my worry or complain about ATM is that they know they can give Barcelona and Madrid a life time headache in a single campaign but they can change that sluggish display when ever they meet and they only show their dominance against smaller clubs in the la Liga, hope you get me...when it has to do with this competition is still a problem like they always give us same style of play nothing to say these guys have changed.
You made mentioned at them losing the champions league to Madrid that the Whites are the cause of them not winning like 2-3 champions league titles, yes I agree with you, but my question what is the manager doing or what has he done to improve the team to beat these teams especially their rival Real Madrid, what? Get my point, Atletico Madrid are one of the big teams in Spain but they can't be relied on to do well when it comes to Europe competitions or competition like this FIFA CLUB WORLD CUP, same pattern every season and playing against PSG they still used same style of play even if PSG are better at least show sign of fighting back no t relax and eat up to 4 goals, ok can you say Barcelona are the same way when Messi, Xavi, Iniesta and co was in the club? Of course no, the changes is there for us to see and that's why I said Atletico Madrid have not changed, they are still the same with the same playing pattern and if their performance isn't terrible that means you're ok with how they go against bigger European clubs including their brothers Barcelona and Real Madrid and lose, you ok with that.

I hope you know before you beat the best, you have to build yourself to the level where you can compete with the best so that you will have the chance to beat the best. In the case of Atlético Madrid beating Real Madrid and Barcelona to dominate La Liga, it won't be achievable because Barcelona and Real Madrid have more money than Atlético Madrid to sign quality players. So it will be difficult for Atlético Madrid to beat Real Madrid and for Barcelona to dominate La Liga.

The early those attitude is changed in our football sector the faster growth it will be because investment is one thing that support and promote clubs for improvement but when you talk about investment in our club system you hardly see a club like that and that's why most people single handedly use there funds to train players with the intention that if there performance meet the standards that would be needed outside they made there money plus the profit after selling them out to foreign club, to see how common our country clubs is you will hardly see any outsider who is not a Nigerian on any of those clubs.

When our government and those in higher ministerial positions in the country start to treat Nigerians right and to be less corrupt, that's when we won't be hearing news of Nigerians pledging to be citizens of other countries.

However, it no longer saddens my heart that our best are leaving the country for a place(country) where their talent will be appreciated and nurtured to be one of the best in the world.

You know we as a citizen of Nigeria want the best for ourselves. We wouldn't want to be in a place that doesn't support our growth, to cage us for long without trying to break free like the eagle.

If I have the chance of leaving our country to pledge as a citizen of another country for the talent I exhibit, I will quietly do that without thinking twice because so many dreams and aspirations have been killed in this our dear country

I don't think it was hardluck though, what I felt was that they weren't clinical enough at the final third, because it was a game of few chances, and as such, you seize the opportunity once it comes, and mamelodi sundowns fail to take their chances when it comes.
Then as for the rest of the other African teams, they greatly underperform, apart from mamelodi sundowns the rest of the other teams weren't up to the desired quality to compete, and that's why they have all crashed out, i just hope that they come back stronger than they were this year in the next edition of this club world cup.

Africans do not value football much like the westerners, and talking about investing in football, everyone wants to invest in what they can find profit in it. Have you checked the attendance of fans in African leagues, very low and the setting of the stadium and other things looked so outdated unlike when you watch the European leagues. It is quite difficult to imitate western standard in our football here in Africa, we lack a lot of things and the corruption in African football is at a very high rate, even the football associations.
      We should just accept that football is not something that can generate enough revenue for the African football body so i don't think that a time will actually come when we will reach that level of the Europeans. Even if welfare and infrastructures are well equipped, how many people can go to the stadium to watch live matches in the African leagues so how will it work that way. When you look at the European leagues, even the least divisions have many supporters and fans.

I didn't watch the Mamelodi Sundowns and Borussia Dortmund game, but from the performance of Mamelodi Sundowns against Fluminense, I have seen the reason why Borussia Dortmund struggles to beat Mamelodi Sundowns. I am happy with the way Mamelodi Sundowns is dominating Fluminense; it shows they need the 3 points more than Fluminense, and if Mamelodi Sundowns can be more clinical, we may see one African team qualifying for the knockout phase of the Club World Cup tournament.

Borussia Dortmund team performance in last match was incredible because they fought well in this match and many players played well in this match and first half was good in this match. We saw back to back goals in this match but stats of Borussia Dortmund team was not good and their shots were 8 in this match and 6 shots were on target and possession percentage of that team was 40 percent and passes of that team were 388 in this match.Mamelodi Sundowns team performance was also brilliant in this match but they could not do more goals in this match. The shots of that team were more in number.

It is really hard to pick one, and to do so, you have to look at a few factors. If we consider the African team that has won the most African Cup of Nations, then that is Egypt, they have won it 7 times, if we consider the African team that has gone furthest in a World Cup, then that is Morocco, who reached the Semi-Final of the last World Cup, if we consider the African country with the strongest club league, then it is definitely the Egyptian league.

That said, if i am to pick a country, i'd say Egypt, based on what they have achieved, winning the AFCON so many times, and they also have successful football clubs like Al Ahly and Zamalek

It should definitely be Nigeria. The Super Eagles might not be at their best now, but Nigeria has the highest number of professional players in Africa. If you take a headcount of African players who play abroad, you might ascertain that Nigeria has the highest population.  Maybe the high population of the country contributed to this fact. Just like Brazil, Nigeria can boast of more football talent in Africa.

Another indicator of a football nation is the popularity of the sport at the grassroots. Football is the most popular sport in Nigeria and it is played by children in almost all the nooks and crannies of the country.
