Troll-Hour is over folks, go away if you don't like this project. Or do you folks listen to music you don't like as well?
Here's a way for everyone to connect to the stable droplet-network.

While we're waiting for TEST 4 in which people run Vaults from their homes again, the Maidsafe Devs decided to put up
a stable network on their droplets to make sure other devs can test with a stable network, API etc. For those that want
to try out The SAFE Network, follow the link, download the Launcher and Demo App and you're good to go. This is what you can do:

  • Register an account (your username and pass stay on your computer only)
  • Register a profilename in the DNS
  • Upload your personal website (safesite)
  • Browse safe websites (safesites) using your own browser
  • Upload private files up to 100MB total (about 4MB each). Files get chunked and encrypted before they leave your computer

We're waiting for TEST 4 where people can test the updates Vaults from home.

Here's the link to the stable SAFE Network

Enjoy!

Double bottom or doom (9225)?

I am guessing that folks figured out the Maid price pattern (after several months of the same ups/downs) ... small rise every Tues before update announcement (expecting MVP news), then fallback (usually) when testing is announced instead.  I think this time folks decided to act on it a day earlier.

How is it over?  The devs are still out of money.  Maid went sub 9k, making new lows for this downtrend, the project is still behind schedule...

MAID is losing market cap to newer, more shiny IPO/ICO quasi-investments such as Lisk and DAO.

You know it's true when the cheerleaders come into this thread, waving their pom-poms in denial.

MAID has nothing to show for 10 years of "research" and a million dollar plus annual burn rate.

And now they're scraping the bottom of the barrel, dumping millions of secret/surprise coins that shouldn't exist onto the market, as the scam moves into its exit phase.

A real concern is a point to repeat : Security.

This closed-box test 4 is not up for outside breaking (it will do that fine itself being a scrubby pre-alpha).

If released, the SAFE network is trading on that name alone, and one breach of security destroys it. Imagine an airline called Never Crash and everyone anticipates just that event and when it occurs it takes the entire paradigm with it. There are no 100% safe airlines. There is no 100% safe network.

There is too much staked on this anticipation of anonymity and security and too little to show in many years of active r&d.

Those enthusiastic updates always detail mistakes and do-overs, yet the fluency of its language appeals as "real progress being made."

The manipulative, misleading language used in those "enthusiastic updates" is called Happy Talk.

As MAID is a token of investment in an unfinished product, MAID is obligated to also address potential problems and setbacks, not just burble cheerfully about "Real ProgressTM being made."

But all we get is cheerleading, instead of a fair and balanced, sober-minded account of the rest of the picture.

That's a red flag indicating 99.99% chance of scam.

And the surprise existence/sale of millions of Secret Bonus Coins confirms the last 0.01%.

Scam 100% Confirmed.

The software and network al already up and running, we even had 3 tests with people running Vaults from home. So far for your scam FUD. They made all the TCP-connection parallel and brought the CPU load
so far down that it's quite amazing. Network cards became way faster for years and they make use of it in a very smart way with the Rust MIO crate. In TEST 4 we're all able to test the new Vaults and it will blow you and your FUD into the bushes. It looks like they might be as fast as BitTorrent even with all their security layers build in. Their daily selling of coins is below 95K MAID a day (19 million / 200 days), so that doesn't hurt a soul. Feel free to keep FUDding here as you don't understand a bit of the technology. I focus on tech and hold my coins until we're live and kicking. TEST 4 will be amazing when it comes to speeds and CPU-loads.

Wow...what's with the price crash ?

I bought most MAID at around 20K stats thinking it was a good investment.
Of course I'll keep hodling, but it's a bit depressing to see the price deflate like this...

Time for some good news !

How many years will MAID take? For me its time to take a back seat, cash out and say good bye. Its obviously never going to happen and it is reflected in the prices. I feel thoroughly cheated but we all know every crypto is a risk.

Its time to move onto new pastures. I have got zero from this currency and never will.

There's a test network up and running, all software was rewritten from C++ to Rust and got new architecture last year. TEST 4 is expected to be around any day now. That one will be very close to the MVP. Maybe only a TEST 5 needed, or no other test at all. All stuff works, from the decentralized DNS to the self_encryption, self_authentication and all stuff that was invented and patented by Maidsafe. When the MVP is live they'll move quite fast to implementing test-Safecoin and messaging and more as the next steps. So feel free to be depressed about the project, I'm actually quite excited. Same for most others that follow the project closely. and here on BCT..... well, don't trust these FUD's. They just want to buy MAID for lower prices. Follow the replies from the Maidsafe community to yesterday's update that will give you a better vision on what's going on. I think TEST 4 will blow most critics in to the bushes.

I'm not sure I'd call 11-12Kish to 9500 a price crash exactly. 12K to 3K would be a crash.

Combo of news regarding the devs selling coins + interest in ICO coins + BTC rising + delays before MVP = lower price. I'd throw in price manipulation too ... I always figured Maid would do the big rise, then fallback (so those who cashed out can buy back in at a cheapo rate) ... then they announce MVP and cash out again.

Yeah, you're right of course.
I was using the word crash because MAID was above 30K stats a few weeks ago.
I guess price manipulation is part of the game in the crypto world.
Anyway, I'm utterly convinced that the price will at least rocket big time when MVP is announced.
Only question of course is when...

Probably the answer is:
Soon™

The question is where is the bottom... expect it'd be around where it is now, or at least I'd hope so. I know a lot of people got into an uproar over the devs selling coins (part of the game, so don't see it being a big deal).... but to me it'd make sense for the devs to announce it/prepare like they did, so then they'd sell off right after they announce the MVP (during expected pump). I'd like to think it's soon then too, as it doesn't make sense to announce selling coins then slowly dump pre-MVP.

I'm just hoping MVP = Maid rising, and brings along SEC with it. I have a little Maid still left, but more in SEC (which is cheap now, so chance of a much higher ROI).
