Hi, i'm trying to mine Burstcoin. I actually generated a plot with pocminer (under Linux) but when i want to mine, this is what i get:

Code:
david@Phenom-Kubuntu:/media/david/HDD320G/pocminer-master$ sh run_mine.sh
Added key: [MYKEY] -> [MYKEY]
...
java.lang.OutOfMemoryError: Java heap space
...

any clue?
Can i use other miner with the plot generated with pocminer?
thanks¡

Seams your miner is running out of memory ... i suggest:
1. use java8 with 64bit (add '-d64' on start 'java ...' command to ensure that)
2. use more memory (add e.g. '-Xmx4G' on start 'java ...')

Long time BTC miner and former LTC miner back in the day.  Checking this out now.  Have a 3TB drive sitting around.
Downloading the BURST_Wallet_GUI_Setup_0.2.5.exe file now.  Anything I should know starting out?  I mean aside from all the instructions etc.

The GUI wallet is very simple to use, only thing I would say is when you go to mine, make sure you set your reward recipient, that's the first step, you assign your wallet to mine to the pool of your choosing, THEN start mining.

first, get a new account by clicking on the new user button, and generating the password, save the password in the account manager at the top of the wallet, add new wallet, and paste your passphrase there, it saves local and encrypted.

to plot/mine -

1. click 'write plots' and choose your drive, this button is at the bottom of the GUI.

2. select how many cores you would like to use to plot your drive, the more you use the faster it will plot, etc.

3. assign reward to a pool of your choosing (after getting funded from the faucet (or from a friend in BURST, I would be happy to fund your wallet for you))

4. Wait for your plotting to finish (could take some time depending on how good your CPU is.)

5. Once your plotting is finished, click 'start mining' at the bottom of the wallet by the write plots button.

The easiest way to do this, would be to use the web wallet... https://wallet.burst-team.us/rewardassignment.html  - This way you don't have to wait for the chain to sync on your local machine.

Outstanding.  I figure with the upcoming halving I need to get back into altcoins.  And I really like the idea of HDD mining vs. temperamental gpus.
Thanks for the advice.

I edited my post with some more information.

HDD mining is the way of the future for PoW style mining, IMO. It hasn't harmed a single drive in my nearing 200TB mining farm, and it takes no power almost. (it's a negligible difference on my power bill with my computers running all the time regardless.) We have MANY new releases coming out VERY soon. We're happy to have you!

Whats up?

There was a temporary outage due to quite a bit of new traffic, we've increased the power of the host machine, and restarted it, should be good now. Thanks for pointing it out!

Sorry guys, Pool.Burstcoin.de is down for now. The good news is I have a new server however stretched out all my lower back muscles.
The old server wasn't worth running again and besides is 2 times as small as the new one. Please have patience
I'm using previous hard drives with the new and I do have all miners recent activities on record so when its up in starts where it left off.

Side note do not buy 8tb Seagate internal drives. The two I have have been replaced with in 3 months time. One replacement arrived dead. All replacements are refurbished drives. They questions what am I doing however these drive heat up and need constant cooling. The only thing stored on them are plots and blago.

Same problem comes with Seagate 1 TB External drive, too. If you thinking to buy it, consider another drives instead.

Ninja pool is for big miners who have terabytes of spaces for mining.
Burst team pool is more suitable for beginners. Allows higher deadlines.

[All-in-one Tool]

Burst Client for Windows 0.2.7

Download: https://sourceforge.net/projects/burstwindowswallet/files/latest/download?source=files

+ fixed stuck at 100% bug while plotting
+ online wallet mirrors added (thx to haitch)
+ information page if local wallet not available
+ minor bugfixes and improvements

https://github.com/dawallet/burstwindowswallet/releases/

This update is not obligatory - but I recommend it.

Just install it over the old version - you won't lose any data.

Burst Client for Windows 0.2.7
Just install it over the old version - you won't lose any data.

Hello,

it took me days and days to update the blockchain of my old version burst_1.2.3 . Then I installed the new version 0.2.7. Then I copied the recent blockchain file burst.h2.db into the new folder (overwrite) as I did not want to start from zero again (as it took days to update the old version from a November 2015 version I suppose the update from zero will take months...). But when i start the new wallet now (local wallet), it shows me an empty blockchain (starting in the year 2014) and "downloading blockchain" even though I just overwrote it with the recent file.

Why?

Thank you for help in advance.

Thank you,

at least I could operate with the online wallet. But the local wallet does not start, and I waited longer than 10 minutes and tried more often and have Java installed. It obviously even somehow seemed to destroy my old local walletwith burst 1.2.3 so that I would have to start all over again. Well, OK, I sold my bursts now and if I need a wallet I will use the online version.

But it still says: Unkown Account = "errorcode":5

I let my miner run for 12 hours, it doesn't give any errors, but there is no payout!

Any help? Huh
