Why is Monero even selling down?  Isn't it one of the better cryptocurrencies that's good to seek refuge in if sh*t hits the fan for BTC this coming August?

If the shit hits the fan everything bleeds more.  In the same way everything has gone up more with the bitcoin / eth rise.  Alts are the puddles to bitcoins ocean.  If shit hits the fan in August (it won't) expect bitcoin to half and everything else to do worse. Compared to fiat.  Years of history shows this.

Alts serve as a magnification vehicle.  Newly minted bitcoin/ethereum millionaires putting a fraction of their wealth in alts drives then up more in the good times due to small market caps.  Everyone suffers more in the bad times

Damn just caught up so looks like the bubble is bursting on all CC. No surprise there except I was certainly expecting XMR to keep it's $ parity.

Good read from your guys mention, looks like a case of a self fulfilling prophecy that anyone with the correct foil would see coming a mile away, I did lol on the "conducting a stinkbomb attack" part though.

Smooth's little hobby coin looks ok tho, amid all the pessimism and bearishness currently going around in crypto.  Been following its price for a week or so and it doesn't seem to budge in Bittrex.  If that had a little more volume it would be good to trade.

Funny, I just noticed that as well. I may grab a little next week.

Do you mean BTC split? It seems 87% of the miners currently support SegWit2x: https://coin.dance/blocks. There won't be any BTC split, right? Many sold for dollars - they'll return and many will panic return. My speculation is that XMR price suppression is coming to it's end.

I honestly thought it was going to.  The Bitcoin price crash is caused by the anticipated sh*t storm this coming August.  So of course it would make sense for some of those Bitcoin holders to hedge their bets and buy some XMR.  But all I see is people running for cover holding fiat.

Once segwit activates next schnorr and then ct.. no need for ring sig ct really if btc already captures anon market through a soft fork. Tumblebit valueshuffle can help with address anon.

Monero is technically one of the most advanced coins but lacks some PR and exchanges/markets/adopters bribes in contrast to other coins like (cough)Dash.
