Quote
Bitcoin will be the dominate currency in it becasue btc has better liquidity.

if(when) gemz goes mainstream people will use gemz because it is FUN, EASY and USEFUL. Not because of cryptography, liquidity or other inner workings they know nothing about.

most people actually don't like money, the seriousness that surrounds it, and the way it makes them feel. I would say that bitcoin is even more serious and intimidating to them than $$

please remember that the average target user is not here in this forum.

I right now I would rather see resources directed towards finding out what the average user thought about the app... rather than have it pushed in mainstream advertising.

I am seeing many positive ratings from young Asian females on playstore which is really promising in my eyes.

Also there aren't many reviews posted for the iphone version. Anyone know the reason for this?

You may be a not-for-profit investor. But  I can bet that most of investors actually are here for profit.

By the way, according to what I read so far, the main purpose of this project is to get more people to use bitcoins.

i send from application wallet android to polo and bittrex not credit more 1 days  Huh Huh

Yes i have same cases with you.i think this app got error when send out gems to exchanger..

I'm testing it, sending gemz to polo now. Meanwhile i suggest you to send a support ticket to poloniex https://poloniex.freshdesk.com/support/home and press new support ticket on the upper right, they might fix it for you.

Update, i received my Gemz at poloniex.

1CUiwzd4RPZZin9Hopu7zJCmyM3nmZQn4 .that is my bittrex address. i send 200,300,330 gems from app .not appear my transaction in blockscan.

@wikenpp, please read this blog post: https://medium.com/@GetGems/referral-rewards-are-only-available-to-humans-16f67aae6fd1
We built a secure and fair mechanism for referrals and airdrop. Our goal is to incentivise real growth of the network and not "fake" referral activity. Your account has been flagged, please contact support if you think a mistake has occurred.

i make send gems from app to bittrex 12 hours ago and still didnt receive it in my bittrex.
I believe the team sends them out manually a couple times a day.

The withdrawal process is automatic unless the account has been flagged and than there is a need for manual approval.

GEMZ is just addon to Telegram it seems...
when i installed it, i got same people as on telegram
Alot more than that
https://docs.google.com/document/d/1a129pSWTDWKWt945Un7NyTxTKPiVq5MjGFLs8mIuZug/edit#heading=h.g39lq9b7eajt
Do Gemzcoins represent the value/stakes of the Gemz entity/network? For instance, if one day Gemz is sold for $1 billion, how much will the Gemzcoins holders get for holding each Gemzcoin? From what I have read, it seems that Gemzcoins holders won't get anything in the above scenario because Gemzcoins donot represent the value/stakes of the Gemz entity/network.
dude if Gemz the app was sold for a billion dollars the coins would be worth a hell of a lot, the coins are what is needed to pay users for using the app. So that would be the last of your concerns.

That could be the case only if the Gemzcoin is the only currency. However, Getgems is a dual currencies system and Bitcoin is also the currency in this system and Bitcoin will be the dominate currency in it becasue btc has better liquidity.

Not necessarely, i would think Gems inside the app is the main currency of the app because it really has a use case in the app where you can purchase products and services only with Gems. Especially when the attention economy goes live. I think for someone who hasn't really heard of bitcoin before the Gems inside the app will be used more by that person because of its versatile usecase in the app. Ofcourse bitcoin is the big boy but inside the app i think when the app is complete then Gems will be the dominant currency of the two.

GetGems would BLOW UP, if teenagers/high-schoolers got wind of the app.  Create groups for your circles of friends, pay back each other's lunch money with GEMZ, share homework, etc.

The Facebook ads are nice - keep it up!

(I can't think of any other marketing strategies for younger people)

Is there a desktop wallet for counterparty or is there only the web-based wallet? (I tried looking it up but couldn't find an answer). Thanks!

They're working on it.

http://counterparty.io/news/counterparty-update-mar-13/

I think you have to be running the counterparty daemon locally to use it though.

The web based wallet works fine.

Any update on the attention reward system?

Not that is know of, but im not the dev, a new beta is in testing phase aimed on losing friction where the user can choose what he wants to add and its not madatory anymore, like disabling/enabling pin codes, bitcoin wallet disabled where the user can enable if they want, faster syncing, faster registration proccess, faster payments, if i would have to guess an eta for the attention economy i would say early 2016.

Meanwhile i have seen something very interesting that doesn't exist in the bitcoin world yet and will raise attention but can't talk about it yet cus it has to be ready and approved first. I believe a GetGems webclient is in the works aswell.
