Thanks, that's what I was looking for.  I bought a bunch on this news, even though doesn't seem that momentous.  But only takes a little good news to make a low volume altcoin shoot up hard and fast.

If they win that will be huge news. 1M$ in there pockets IIRC

If there is a project besides btc that can pull it off getgems it is guys, easy to promote, newb friendly, easy access, talented devs, good connections, enough incentive to use.

Yeah I don't really get it cause i was using google play downloads as a gauge for how well getgems was doing. And to think so much trouble was made to get the Android version going to the point we dropped using the original code iOS version. People will have different opinions but I hope at a later point we separate ourselves from Telegram...if that's possible I dunno.

And to think so much trouble was made to get the Android version going to the point we dropped using the original code iOS version. Our vision for payments within social networks is definitely bigger than just with Telegram.

Sweet. And I do see the benefits of being tagged into the Telegram open source project for users. And when you see simple clones of Telegram like this

get real traction then I don't see why it has to hold back. I guess I want the uniqueness of Getgems to be appreciated, I mean Telegram itself is quite a standard app, good but no major innovation...its what you guys have made of it that's so interesting. Just don't want anyone saying oh that's just some Telegram clone.


I feel refreshed and fully onboard again Daniel now I see the download situation is more positive than I thought, its all about downloads IMO, but I still cant put the app on my crappy S2.....so never joined testing ;(    I'll buy a new phone or use my wife's I guess when the airdrop starts.

You're right, but winning the people's choice award is newsworthy in and of itself, and if GetGems wins both prizes, that would be phenomenal. Not to mention $10,000 would pay a team member's living expenses for several months.

Daniel nailed the questions, the asshole judge actually admitted that the concept is really smart. For the female judge she really sucked pretty much about text messaging question where she said this text messaging is so 5 years ago and Daniel came very strong on the answer to the point where the female judge said go ahead and answer the question of the other judge lol. Daniel did a good job imo and meant business, the judges where harsh on every contender.

But what getgems has been working on is mindblowing guy. It seems they have partnered with couple of major banks and will be introducing paykey which will be available on all major social media platforms, even thos close sourced like whatsapp, snapchat, instagram etc. this is amazing. In the demo you can see them making a transaction in whatsapp and getgems as a url was seen aswell. But i don't think the judges really grasped this amazing technology.
