The "lastshare" figure is not the difficulty of a miner's best share. It's the timestamp (in Unix time) of the miner's last accepted share.

The difficulty of a miner's best share in the current round is the "bestshare" figure.

The difficulty of a miner's all-time best share is the "bestever" figure.

thanks for the clarification

a Cray is the only computer that can run an endless loop in under 4 hours

Transactions must be included in a block to be properly completed. When you send a transaction, it is broadcast to miners. Miners can then optionally include it in their next blocks. Miners will be more inclined to include your transaction if it has a higher transaction fee.

I have an odd question, what is to stop mining rental services from withholding difficulty solving shares? To keep you renting?

Nothing. It's always been the greatest risk of renting.

Unless you were on a pool and noticed you were 'down on your luck' for an insane amount of time, you would not notice and even so could never be conclusively proven either. Sneaky...

Has there been any known cases with MRR or NH?

Thanks for this pool, by the way. I notice that the way you have it set up for insanely fast block changes and the code quality is why I will keep my small miners here. I also saw you paid out a block that was missed due to a fault with this pool a while back, I wouldn't solo mine anywhere else, not even on my own node as this seems the most trustworthy place to put my miners knowing that if I found a block it only has a low chance of getting orphaned... Well worth the fee that is deducted from the found block.

If there was any truly known cases of withholding, people wouldn't take the chance with mining using a rental service. (IMO)

Best way to not find out is to mine using your own machines!

This happens 100% with nicehash, anyone who trusts them after the "insider hack" is a fool.

Anyone trusting nicehash now is crazy.

Oh yea and the guy is a malware developer...

Nothing. It's always been the greatest risk of renting.

To be fair  I hit 2 blocks in one day at this pool using nicehash.  25 + 25 = 50 btc  but btc was only 400 usd at the time.

As to all the rentals I pointed here I most likely am down just a bit.

I also hit 2 blocks on mmpool renting from nicehash.

But  I don't rent much and point here. Due to the hack last year.

This article hasn't nothing to do with the topic of withhold the block solving shares! I will not send hashing power there anymore because of what happened (I lost some BTC but not much)

you need 30321 * 168,408,013 to solve the a block at current difficulty. so not even close, but not bad at all from a 900gh.

current difficulty according to bitcoinwisdom.com = 5,106,422,924,659 , so your share needs to => than that.

but it changes every aprox 14 days, so you check it on the website from time to time.

good luck.

That times are long gone.  Cry
Now with the hacks and the falling price of BTC maybe manipulation is the only way of survive for those renting services... Huh
Sometimes you rent hash on MRR that comes from NH or the other way around, maybe it was rented more than 2times from source to source, who knows... So you can not even proof manipulation...
We are at a diff of more than 400 here, that is not a proof, but we also have more blocks found from unknown sources than ever.  Undecided

5 month 14 days drilling with 8 PH, and no result
It feels like the pool stuckes.

My mistake. 512% of luck Grin
Very unlucky. And no chances to solve with 3.3 PH now.

This is one stubborn block, longest run yet on records without a find?
