Hello guys.
I would appreciate if any of you helps me with step by step giude how to start mining. Im a newbie on mining , and would like to have an explanation simple step by step.
Thank you

Step 1. Go to bitmain.com and get a miner.
Step 2. Get a power supply at the same time or use a computer power supply of 1200 watts.
Step 3. Plug into wall.
Step 4. Setup the network connection (wired) as per unit's instructions.
Step 5. Point your miner to Ck's solo pool.
Step 6. In anywhere from 1 minute to about three years, PROFIT.

Remember, mining is a game of lottery tickets. Each "share" is a ticket. You win if your ticket number is higher than the current difficulty. You could (theoretically) win on the first pull. Or you could never win. It's a game of chance with numbers in the infinity range.

Solo mining is alive and profitable!

Im planing in the future to buy some antminers to create a small farm. But i wanted to test it with my pc , how it works, just to become more familiar with the process.

CPU mining has nothing in common with modern bitcoin mining. You won't be learning anything useful. It's also effectively impossible to do with no supported modern software that will mine bitcoin and no support from any bitcoin pool or developers. If you want to cpu mine, go seek help in the altcoin forums and pools.

If you want to get started with Bitcoin mining, you will need an ASIC based miner. As others have said, CPU/GPU mining of Bitcoin will teach you nothing, except perhaps how to manage frustration, and most pools (at least the good ones I know) will not allow you to mine (they will block you).

Take a look around for GekkoScience Compac or GekkoScience 2pac. They are relatively inexpensive USB based miners that use a Bitmain BM1384 chip. They will not earn you huge amounts of money, but you will learn a little bit about ASIC mining. It's how I got started in ASIC mining.

Compac support thread: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1173963.0
2pac support thread: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1764803.0

If you can wait for a little while, sidehack (the designer of the Compac and 2pac) is working on another BM1384 based miner. sidehack also has other small ASIC miner projects in the works, but nothing is ready yet. For more info check out this thread:

I remember when this thread started - great to see pool going strong! Weather getting colder, BTC hotter, so had to dust off trusty S2 and unleash 1TH/s S2 power. Surprised S2 still works after being forever neglected Smiley

No it has not. You missed calculating how much BTC you can buy in the moment of purchase instead of buying the miner. If you bought BTC directly at that moment, instead of buying a miner, you would have more BTC now then what you have mined.

Those stats looks like they're for the normal pool, this is the solo pool thread.

The stats show your miner is not online currently, however. Your last share was on Thursday, October 26, 2017

In general, you can expect a block when your share number = the difficulty. This looks like an S7 at 4th/s (or maybe an Avalon 6). You will have to get lucky to find a block.

If your bestshare is great than the difficulty, you've found a block and get 99% of the reward. It's like a lottery.

The page on http://solo.ckpool.org/ explains it pretty well. The key part - if you don't find a block, you get nothing.
