... and Difficulty mentioned was 3.85T/3.51T , is this the hash rate of miner?...
That's the network minimum difficulty (3.51T) and the actual difficulty found (3.85T)
"3.51 T" is shorthand for 3,511,060,552,899
"T"= trillion

If you have to ask "why?", you wouldn`t understand my answer.

No, hash is hash and network diff is network diff; one will never be "aka" the other (that would be like saying "a cat is aka a dog").

If:
A is for Apple
and
A is for Alligator

Is an apple "aka" an alligator?

If you have to ask "why?", you wouldn`t understand my answer.

Hi folks,
one question:
We have 520THs running with S9 antminers. Actually all mining in antpool.
Would you either mine in a pool or does it make sense to try solo mining here? How big is really the chance to catch a block - is there any simple math calculation available?
thanks,
Sam

(Roughly)

If you were lucky, and difficulty didn't change (which it will) you could expect to find a block with 500TH every 428.20 Days

Or you could expect to find 12.5 BTC in around the same amount of time mining in a pool.

Of course if you were really lucky you could find more than one block solo mining in the same amount of time.

If you're luckier than anyone in the entire universe, you could find a block with just one hash... But realistically that's only doable with an infinite improbability drive (cue Douglas Adams.)

Thanks guys,
so why should we mine solo if the the outcome is the same with pool mining? Only because there is a theoratical chance of finding 2 blocks in same period?

Mining solo you get the whole block reward if you solve it, not the same as pool mining at all.

The pic is ok, only some black lines on the left.

Check it yourself:

Then are you aware that this is a solo pool? no shared payouts.

lol
I do not need to explain the meaning of solo mining

I asked a simple question
Is this the right structure? (for antminers)

Yes, your setup appears correct.
What others were trying to point out is that with no backup pools in your settings, if something happens to this pool then you go from "all or nothing" to "nothing and nothing".

If you have to ask "why?", you wouldn`t understand my answer.

No one should have to convince you to solo mine.....  if you have to ask why should you solo mine instead of a pool, you haven't done your research and reading to understand the differences between the two.  With Solo mining you could find a block in a week, or never.

Mining in a pool is like saving your money in a bank account....  solo mining is like taking that money and going to the casino to make 10 times that..... greater risk, greater payout or nothing....  if you like to gamble try solo for a couple of weeks.... if your conservative... stay with the pool.

so just to make sure
this is right forum page for discussions on/at/about
stratum+tcp://solo.ckpool.org:3333

Huh

so my questions are, like how do / can i make sure i am mining properly and everything is good to go if i ever get lucky and find block?>??

I have it mining, ,i see my stats, but even though i am in pool, i thought i would be getting like a few cents / day sent to btc wallet, which in my case i am using electrum wallet btc

i came home from work today and saw something on the DOS screen that said something to effect of stratum something found block at height of 53xxxxx

isnt that what i want to see or have happen??
so i guess ultimately i just want to learn how to make sure that if i do luck up and make something positive happen, that i will properly receive the compensation i am supposed to.
like will it say so in my stats screen???

If you solve a block, you get 99% of the entire block reward for that block; if you don't solve a block you get nothing.
No block solve = no pay is how solo mining works.

34.1G = you might solve a block if you hop in a time machine and go back about 5 years.

If you have to ask "why?", you wouldn`t understand my answer.

I thought we were all here trying to "get lucky."  Huh If I'm not mistaken, there are averages and there is luck. Every up to date asic machine hashing away at the network "technically" has an equal chance on an average of 10 minutes to find a BTC block if I'm not mistaken.   Wink So @mHyde71, you do have a chance at getting a block. It will be pure luck, but you still have a chance.  Grin
