I was ok with Win 8.1 until Win 10 came out. Then updates add win 10 problems and the win 10 nag malware started screwing things up.
Here's a great utility to get rid of the Win10 Nagware. GRC is a very reputable source. https://www.grc.com/never10.htmthanks for the refresh i had forgotten Gibson and his xp rpc

Meanwhile CKDB restart coming up in about 1.5 hrs - the shift summary around 13:30 UTC No miners will be affected Web page will have lotsa '?' for about 15 minutes This is another code test restart. I've made some major changes in the ckdb processing since I found the cause of the 'sequence' issue before. This is the first attempt at trialling the code with the large throughput of the pool. So I'm actually not really expecting it to be OK, but rather see the affect of the complete redesign of the threaded processing and sort out where it might need 'adjustment'. Hopefully we'll find (some) blocks before that and mess up my testing schedule I'll repost if that happens and work out when the restart will be.

Well, it looks like we are above 350% again. Every time we pass 350% I permanently add 5% to the amount I'm renting. Long term I plan to gradually grow my rate anyway; it is just a matter of timing. I figure 350% is roughly the tipping point at which some bad luck is behind us and I need to start building a stronger N avg for things upcoming.
I (with the help of my bot) have managed to keep a fairly steady average rate rented for a couple weeks now. I'm up about 9% this month with a red line around 118TH-- not too bad. Have some fun busting this block with some large rentals, but please keep the rates under 0.0032 if at all possible. Following y'all up there gets expensive!

Well the test restart turned into being the real thing. No problems at all, running without a glitch, so far for 40min, fingers crossed Restart was 13:33 UTC to 13:42 So that looks like I've finally sorted out all the sequence/threading issues, and that also includes a memory leak fix so hopefully ckdb can again last a lot longer without needing a restart. That change took quite a long time to test coz I could only test and reproduce the issues on the live pool, so could only test changes once every few days, since I didn't want to be restarting ckdb over an over. Now, time for blox!

Has anyone else noticed that the transactions in the Mempool have skyrocketed over the last two days -- 16000 transactions - could there be some kind of attack that is preventing us from hitting blocks ?

Ok. I'm about to try Xubuntu on usb first. Xubuntu 16.04 LTS I'm thinking to try first, then maybe play with the other later. Do you guys like LTS or the other version? I'm not sure if my AV/security suite supports linux, so I need some suggestions there. Any troubleshooting utilities also, since I can carry this OS. Linux noob other than ssh via telnet to miners and some ras pi stuff. Mostly just miner/cgminer stuff. Load, Hash, clock, chip etc... Sorry not sorry for being off topic from pool a bit, but I'm excited about the possibility of new miners so I can get back in the game. Point some owned rigs to Kano. I may even go get some jobs to get it going proper. I'm also trying to keep busy while waiting on this long block, when your 90 percent rentals it stresses you out. The answers I get here are better than anywhere else. Most times when I ask this stuff, I get an answer and think meh I'll just research it myself. But yous guys gots good brains in yer head Your right about many of the games dreamer, a lot of my HTPC/Gaming customers wouldn't go linux because the games they liked were not supported. I was ok with Win 8.1 until Win 10 came out. Then updates add win 10 problems and the win 10 nag malware started screwing things up. Trying to force bullshit OS they can't give away and pretty much mucking it all up like some of you talked about in detail. I use 14.04 LTS. You won't need your AV/security stuff...just never leave your machine logged on to the root. It will take a bit of getting used to, but if you're old enough to remember working green CRTs with command lines, it'll be like old times with a lot more speed. If you want input, PM me. The ONLY app I haven't been able to move over is a good WYSIWYG html editor...I haven't been able to get my old favorite, SeaMonkey, to load and so I boot Win just to do that.

That wouldn't prevent us from finding blocks-- it would just make them have nicer fees included! I have noticed though. I refill my rental wallet well before it runs out and do so with a lowered fee since it isn't a high priority that it gets there quickly. It usually gets there within an hour anyway. Yesterday it took 5 hours.

I was more than happy to have Replicator's 397% block be the high CDF winner for the month. Now I've been blasting too much rental hash and my red line is over 250 TH so I'm out of the running... Crap.

Nicehash - if I knocked anyone off sorry - - will be 2 hours max i use nicehash right now but i would like to use westhash as well cause kano has a node over in that area i think I rent on both sides at once. For Nicehash I point it at the DE Node and for Westhash I point it at the main node. Usually one side is renting a little cheaper than the other, helps keep rentals more consistent and within my price limits.
