first of all I’d like to thank you all for your great support over the years.
Second I want to confirm that Gapcoin indeed broke the World Record for the largest known prime gap of maximum merit:

NEW PRIME GAP OF MAXIMUM KNOWN MERIT
The Gapcoin network (Jonnie Frey, developer), a Bitcoin derivative which employs a hashing algorithm to search for prime gaps of high merit, has discovered a new prime gap of maximum known merit, a gap of G=8350 following the 87-digit prime P1=293703234068022590158723766104419463425709075574811762098588798217895728858676728143227. The merit M=G/ln(P1) of this gap is M=41.93878373153988, the largest merit of any known prime gap, and the first prime gap to be discovered with a merit exceeding 40. The endpoints of the gap have been certified as primes deterministically, using the Akiyama-Kida-O'Hara UBASIC implementation (1988-1992) of the APRCL2 test, due to Adleman, Pomerance, Rumely, Cohen, H. W. Lenstra, and A. K. Lenstra (1984-1987).

Good project. The idea is not new. However, connecting this with blockchain and crypto is an innovative solution. At least I have not met competitors.

I was CPU mining , but when GPU "arrived" I stoped ...

We have merged the new gpu miner changes into the gpu-miner branch of our source. We urge gpu miners to use the stratum port which has vardiff enabled.
This seems to increase the gpu miners pps a bit with a higher share difficulty.

So, Gapcoin currently has a world record prime gap - achieved even without the support of a crypto mining pool - imagine the results with network hashing power equal to that of the Bitcoin network, for example. Not to shabby for a network limping along with sometimes less than 30-ish (stable) nodes!

Hello all,

Am currently having a look at the GPU Miner to see if it is possible to enable NVIDIA operation (seeing as NVIDIA embraced OpenCL finally); as well as looking into the stratum side as well, seeing as there was a running pool some time ago. Will make changes available to all.

Just a small whinge; whoever 'SwissKnife1000' is (unsure if he is a forum member or proper mental).. remove your 'commits' from the Gapcoin repository as they are embarrassing. I'm not quite sure who posts obnoxious remarks like that with their name next to it, but some of the commits suggest rather obvious procedures; just a shame to see the equivalent of graffiti on a worthwhile project. Pull them down or actually give the issues a go - the OpenSSL one is about 5-10 minutes of work.

Is there a blockchain download for this anywhere?  I mined this when it first came out.  Saved the wallet but rebuilt the machine.  I have to sync from scratch.
