I like to announce a modified version of the CPU-Miner. It's on average about 1000% faster. Yes, no typo, +1000%.

The trick is to only search for gaps that meet the criteria (pool = is a share, solo = is a block) and quickly discard others. 10g/h and 15g/h are not calculated anymore.

The source is available here:
https://bchain.info/gapminer_dcct_mod.zip

Check and compile yourself (just "make" will do the trick).

I hope to see new large gaps and expect some donations (could have just used it myself!):

GeXwYgVQKZWnctitxuJrvNMMZXWv3nd5RM

When using the pool make sure to point it at the port for GPU-mining (=higher target, less load on the pool).

You are on the right track, but still about 3x slower than optimal. I am averaging about 1.5 blocks an hour on 2 x Intel Core i7-4770K processors. It is nice to see that someone is enhancing the miner.

You are on the right track, but still about 3x slower than optimal. I am averaging about 1.5 blocks an hour on 2 x Intel Core i7-4770K processors. It is nice to see that someone is enhancing the miner.

But will you release your miner?

Not yet as my implementation of the GPU miner is deadly and will surely kill the coin without a doubt. The coin is too young and let us give it some time to grow. I have mined enough BTCs and XPMs therefore I am going to shelve it at this time.

can you provide windows binaries?

I'm not familiar with compiling for windows, but I'm sure someone else can do it.

I'm working on it.

@dcct great work, thanks! I sent you 250 GAP

nice... this should give nice distribution and awareness of this crypto.. very very nice

there is someone doing 26,858,338 PPS there is always a danger of massive dump and some point from this entity, however distribution and rising difficulty will nicely offset this

rich list should fall to the poor list in due time  Cool great and funny all this

also at the same time BTC will climb to 1000$ a pop should impact (in the positive) all substantial crypto and GAP is one of them

for your info I tend to well guess BTC pricing and foresaw recent decline.. now watch in the opposite and this time price of BTC will shoot waaay pass 1K

one outstanding "problem" is GPU miner support for NVIDIA cards. many have them especially because of its low amp requirements , when accomplished should see many doing past 10K PPS easily, also cutting the tip of the rich list  Cool

that 26K entity very likely is doing AMD farm.. because AWS prices spiked in the recent

Actually that would be me.  Not GPU.  AWS and new miner.  I'll let them run another five hours.  Might add more.  Not worried about the cost.  Maybe we'll break some records.

Edit:

It would be nice if we had another pool to spread the hashrate.  Maybe I'll solo mine.

very cool, another pool would add to distribution in my view one of THE very important factors for success of a crypto coin in general

aaaaactually you want more miners like tens of thousands.. you should see some nice press releases after that (record breaking) but than again if YOU break the record.. you will go down in the history because I am sure you will be listed, XPM does the same  thing with CC (block signature)

nice... this should give nice distribution and awareness of this crypto.. very very nice

there is someone doing 26,858,338 PPS there is always a danger of massive dump and some point from this entity, however distribution and rising difficulty will nicely offset this

rich list should fall to the poor list in due time  Cool great and funny all this

also at the same time BTC will climb to 1000$ a pop should impact (in the positive) all substantial crypto and GAP is one of them

for your info I tend to well guess BTC pricing and foresaw recent decline.. now watch in the opposite and this time price of BTC will shoot waaay pass 1K

one outstanding "problem" is GPU miner support for NVIDIA cards. many have them especially because of its low amp requirements , when accomplished should see many doing past 10K PPS easily, also cutting the tip of the rich list  Cool

that 26K entity very likely is doing AMD farm.. because AWS prices spiked in the recent

How hard exactly is it to set a record?
Assuming current net hash-rate how long would it take?

Just curious, seems like it may be a long time

Try solo  Wink
With the new miner you will get much higher primes per seconds when mining solo.
