While development occurs for those fpgas john-connor will eat the block reward You're a troll bro... Even if John has spent $38,000 USD on 100 ztex units (he doesn't have that many, based on https://i.imgur.com/tO25V1y.jpg he has 19.), he still wouldn't even have close to 10% of the network hash. You actually stated that John bought 500 units. You really think he spent $190,000 on mining equipment? Sure.... Network: 841.86 GH/s | PoW: 31,949.70 | PoS: 2.51 | Blocks: 195,335 The fact that he purchased 19 FPGAs @ $380 each shows his long term dedication to the coin, if anything. It will take nearly a year for him to even recoup his initial investment (ROI). On a ZTEX Quad FPGA every single FPGA is shown in CGMiner, so this screenshot shows he has 5 (!) FPGA Boards, not 19 or 20 (don't forget to count the 0 ) So its 5 x ZTEX Quad Board = 20 FPGA's, 20 Spartans mining.

Acoin just asked about a Chinese font wallet.
I am curious if anyone knows how hard this would be to create/implement? Could this be done somehow by the community?
If it's worth it, I could ask for translations of the wallet text.
Can you get the chinese translations? You could send it to John directly and talk with him or send it over to me and I'll pm him. We got some additional translations waiting also, but it wasn't priority. Now it would be the time.

I will check on this getting translated. Feedback from China is that basically they can't read/use the English wallet very well. Seeing some attempts at "guides" springing up. Problem is I don't know of a solid translator.

I'm in for a bounty for a trusted chinese member of the VNL community, duno what the prices would be, but seeing as we were up for the doublespend bounty also doubt it would be an issue. If you could find one and ask for a price that would be great.

VNL HASN'T RELEASED DARK++ YET. besides that's not the point of this project. The point of vnl is secure instant decentralized transfers.

Does VNL guarantee the anonymity of the sender?
All communications pathways are encrypted using strong algorithms. Because of this not even your ISP can decipher the contents of your communications. TCP uses Transport Layer Security (TLS) and UDP uses ECDHE ( https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Elliptic_curve_Diffie%E2%80%93Hellman) + HC-256 ( https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/HC-256) encryption. The blockchain and transactions can be viewed by anyone, so no "anon" features currently like what some other projects use. There will be more advanced anon/privacy features with DarkPP in Q3/Q4. Please see the OP for additional information on DarkPP.

VNL HASN'T RELEASED DARK++ YET. besides that's not the point of this project. The point of vnl is secure instant decentralized transfers. Ok, thank you. So the purpose of VNL is currently to reach instant transactions. The purpose is to build the perfect decentralized crypto-currency, instant transactions are already live on the main net and can be used by anyone (even though ZeroTime is currently labeled as BETA). Future updates will make the wallet default to zero confirmation transactions (ZeroTime). The communication protocol used is already way more advanced than the old Satoshi protocol (which Bitcoin and most, if not all derivatives use). We have several innovative features already live. The client and the code base is cross-compatible, thus we have perfect staking mobile wallets with the native code (no 3rd parties involved) and extremely low battery use while doing so. We were also the first digital currency next to Bitcoin for which Poloniex allowed 1 confirmation deposits (the wallet default currently, without the use of ZeroTime) after a code audit. Also we have profitable and energy efficient FPGA mining securing the network just like in the old Bitcoin times

Hi there ! - how do I set password for this wallet? You can't atm, but it's planned. - location/folder where files are stored on my phone (is it just wallet.dat or any other files)? if you have root access: /data/data/net.vanillacoin.vanillacoin/ auto-timestamped wallet backup is done during file creation, you can find it in the /sdcard/ folder. - how do I copy/paste address if I want to sent from my PC to my phone wallet? From the QRCode, you can use http://zxing.org/w/decode.jspx to decode a screenshot of the mobile wallet's QRCode More features to like Address Sharing are ready to merge from the dev branch. - can I add more addresses or just 1 (default) possible? Not atm, so only 1 address by mobile wallet (planned, but no eta) - how do I "open" wallet for staking? Just open the Vanillacoin app & let it run in Background Jump on iRC if you need help. Have a good n8/day !

xCore's the expert, but just to add a little to your second question: Obviously, there are blockchain files, but wallet.dat is the important file. You can move that and use it on your PC. A backup copy of your Android wallet.dat is saved either to your SD Card or to your Android/data/net.vanillacoin.vanillacoin or similar folder. You can only move your PC wallet.dat to your Android wallet if your phone is rooted. Most people will not have a rooted phone.

I think Bitl0ck is confused about the 100-200k.
These coins came from the first gpu miners that were abusing John's pool with over 10% of the nethash. John stated any coins over 10% of pool's hash will be donated to the faucet.
John did not rain 100-200k coins, he made a faucet and filled it with those coins. People were able to get like 1-5 coins/day, but I think someone hacked it and got more as the faucet dried up pretty quickly.

I support VNL and all but that is incorrect, I supplied john-connor with the node.js faucet source which I found on github, then the faucet was working but decided that it would lock you out if you entered your addresss too much, the faucet had about 100k balance when it went offline as far as I can remember and has been down ever since.
