1081  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: October 24, 2022, 02:17:17 PM
Of course, Jokic is a very valuable player, and the Nuggets management is well aware of that. As you probably know, the Nuggets agreed and signed a 5-year contract extension with him early in the offseason. So the Nuggets have already kept him for a long time since his current contract will only expire after the 27-28th season. Honestly, I wouldn't be surprised if Jokic plays for the Nuggets his entire career.
Yeah, Actually Jokic is the most valuable player for in NBA right now since he is good on both offense and defense while he is still young,  The only reason why Nuggets still don’t get the championship or even close on WCF is because Jokic has no solid team mate that can cover him while he is resting. Nuggets play is centered to Jokic which is the reason why they are always being beaten by strong teams on playoffs but Aaron Gordon is now improving well and probably he will be one of the key player on Nuggets to help Jokic.

It will be a loss for Nuggets if they let Jokic be traded since they are the one who develop this player since his rookie days.
I have to say this is going to get me hated, but I find Jokic to be a bit overrated. Yes dude has good stats that's for sure, but he is a slow center that doesn't really have that much skill at scoring if you ask me, he is using what he has right now but when he gets older, his passing will be the only thing left for him to do, his scoring will drop a whole ton, and his style is not going to age that well.

I feel like Embiid is better, because he has the strength and fighting spirit that Jokic doesn't have. Smart players are valuable and Jokic is smart, but he is not going to be great for too many years, just 2 more years and we will see a steep decline for him if you ask me.

Don't worry mate because I'm also seeing the same thing, Jokic is indeed a bit overrated and I'm more inclined with Embiid because the latter have something more to give to the team and not just a literal role of center, also, Embiid can carry the team unlike Jokic that needs his teammate to bring the team to a win. Watching Jokic play is like seeing a slowed replay, I don't know why Grin
1082  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [BOXING] Manny Pacquiao vs. DK Yoo on: October 21, 2022, 03:28:53 PM
This is an exhibition match so I think the main concern here is the participant's safety.  I think this kind of fight is scripted and possibly the winner will have been decided in the deal script.  This is just a money-grab fight where some of the proceeds will go to charity, as stated by @OP.

In this match, DK Yoo is heavier than Manny so I am quite interested in which weight division they are fighting.  Regardless of weight, I believe we can see Manny dominating this fight for the sole reason of his boxing experience.

Most likely, boxing celebrities had already found a way to still make money after retirement, Pacman has just followed the path of Mayweather, they had retired in boxing already but still want to fight for money. If this is scripted, then we know who would win already, hopefully, there's a betting odds so I would bet on DK Yoo to survive the entire rounds.
1083  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Casimero vs Akaho - December 3 on: October 21, 2022, 02:49:35 PM
I submitted my vote to Casimero, this is going to be a big comeback fight for him so I think he will give his everything. And obviously the weight issues might not be evident  as he has to move up 4 lbs heavier, so it will be easier for him to maintain that weight. Power? he can still bring it in I reckon, fighters usually has one weight to carry their power, but after that it might diminished. So I'm expecting Casimero to win via knock out or technical knock out when Akaho can't fight anymore.

Same here, voted for Casimero in this comeback fight.

His opponent has plenty of fight experience as well, 26 KOs from 39 fights, I think he should not underestimate Akaho. I'm expecting that Casimero will dominate the poll here but that does not mean he will win easily against an experienced boxer.

I'm pretty sure it's not going to be a boring fight as his opponent is a KO artist, so Casimero will be tested again.

Top 5 standing now.

https://pba.ph/standings

Only one team still remains undefeated which is the Magnolia Hotshots.

They'll be playing the Ginebra San Miguel this Sunday who came from a loss against the Phoenix, I think I found an opportunity here, of course I'm going to be on Ginebra as they always bounce back everytime they lose.
1085  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Terence Crawford vs David Avanesyan December 10 on: October 21, 2022, 01:29:09 PM
This  David Avanesyan has a power  I checked Youtube for any information about this guy and this video is very interesting

The BRUTAL POWER of David Avanesyan

although impressive but against a fighter like Crawford who is fast with a good technical skills I doubt if he can hit Crawford with his so-called power, there's no big name on his list but he is the European welterweight Champion, but his power is not enough to beat Crawford.

If this fight with Avanesyan pushes through then they will have a common opponent which is Kavaliauskas who defeated Avanesyan via TKO so i think this is an easy fight for Terrence Crawford because he KOed Kavaliauskas who KOed Avanesyan  Grin.

Bottomline, no matter how powerful Avenesyan is, he is not on the level of Crawford and for me this is just "to keep busy" fight for Crawford while ironing things out for the Spence fight next year but nevertheless it is a cherry-picked opponent.

Maybe not as powerful as Crawford, but I'm hoping here that we will be able to see an entertaining fight. I believe David Avanesyan is an aggressive boxer, if he would pressure Crawford, then most likely we will see a KO again and that's going to be a win by Crawford. I'm wondering what's the betting odds on this fight, hopefully we can still find some value to bet on Crawford.
1086  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: October 21, 2022, 01:06:35 PM
Westbrock had 2 points in 23 minutes ? What a joke. How can they allow this ? They are being paid with millions and he cannot trow and make some buckets ? I think the problems in Lakers teams are going deeper between them and I think the only solution for this team to move on , is to let some players to leave as soon as possible because if they stay in this format , play-offs are a very hard achievement.

Not sure how to answer your question, but yeah, Westbrook is not really looking good with the Lakers since he joined them. I guess there are too many alphas on Lakers.

Both good games last night, Giannis still showing his form against the Sixers and almost got a triple double.

While the Clippers looks sharp against the Lakers although there are some moments that the Lakers took the lead.

Westbrook is the most expensive player of the Lakers depth. He is really the guy and not James. But this is James fault am I right? He demanded at the Lakers management to ship Westbrook back in the day? And because it was a disappointment, and James cannot be fired, it was the coach that received the punishment.

Second season in lakers prove that he's not really worth the money and his performance is totally awful seeing how perform today. For sure he will be the main focus of bashing now since he doesn't improve from last season and it became more worse at the moment. For sure for the salary for by Westbrook and to his bad performance shown for sure Lakers will get a huge problem to get rid of him since for sure no team will gonna accept a problem to their team.

I think the problem is the Lakers coaching staff, they were not able to manage Westbrook well that's why his stats have dropped. Let us not forget that Westbrook will be soon a hall of famer, and he was very impressive playing with the Rockets and the Wizards, it's only with the Lakers that he struggled, so I believe he is not the problem.

It's very different though with OKC, Houston and Wizards, he only got one team mate that complement with him and so he has a  lot of time to score and distribute and rebound the ball, you know, to pad his statistics for triple double.

But with the Lakers, he is not the first or second option, because it is Lebron and Anthony Davis.

Yes, it might be the coaching staff, but at least partly the blame is also on WB for his poor performance like errors and air ball.

Westbrook would only be effective if he will be the main man, I mean, he should be the one bringing the ball as it's easier for him to create an offense that way, and also would create some good passes. However, with Lebron as the ball handler, things will be tougher for Westbrook as he is not a spot up shooter.
1087  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Boxing: Haney vs Kambosos II (Undisputed) on: October 20, 2022, 01:27:59 PM
For Kambosos, it will be a difficult road for him, losing back to back and the best thing is to go up in weight. But then again, he doesn't have any power to be honest, I don't know how he knock down Teo in their fight, maybe Lopez underestimated him.

He should move if he can't make the weight. I remember during the first fight, he was off in the first try. Although me made the weight in the second fight, he seems to be very dry and lean.

That might be his next move because he can't really defeat Haney or at least give him a hard time. That way, he won't be having some struggles in his weight if he indeed have some issues woth it and it's no use in staying the same division if he can't be a star.

Kambosos' problem is Haney himself. Kambosos was undefeated before confronted with Haney's boxing strategies. Haney seemed to be Kambosos' kryptonite. Kambosos was strong. He even defeated Teofimo Lopez. It's just that boxers have different strategies. Haney was more like Mayweather. And that's something Kambosos' found hard to solve. He was a puzzle Kambosos really failed to solve. He doesn't necessarily have to go up in weight though.

Those 2 losses from Haney is just the beginning, he only had 20 fights, and those 2 losses of him will make his opponent so confident in betting on him. usually, when a fighter had losses already, he is not the same anymore, just like what happened to Bronner, he was once undefeated but when he experience a lose, that continues to happen until he losses his career.
1088  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2020 Philippine Basketball Association betting discussion on: October 20, 2022, 12:55:47 PM
Tomorrow we have SMB vs Converge, I'm leaning on the SMB here as I believe they will bounce back from the embarrassing loss against the Dragons.

I'm still waiting for the betting odds but I'm sure SMB will be the favorite here, hopefully not the heavy favorite so I will be tempted more to bet on them. By the way, the first game are DYIP and Bay Area Dragons, I know it will be boring that's why I didn't tough it.

You'll be surprise that SMB is not a heavy favorite now.

Betting odds are already out, SMB is only -1.5, so I guess you'll not miss that opportunity.
Also, Bay Area Dragons is -20.5, though it's high but against the worst team in the PBA, I think I'll take that spread.  Smiley
1089  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Bad advice can still be gotten from forum. on: October 20, 2022, 11:41:45 AM
I haven't gotten any bad advice yet, but I think it is logical to still entertain the possibility that since the forum is a meeting place for people from different lifestyles to discuss, bad advice or problematic opinions can still be shared. It is important and advisable to also extra vet the information and advice you get on this forum before application.
The majority of those who respond to questions are people who have extensive knowledge of that subject. Consider Bitcoin Technical Discussion or Technical Support. Most of the posts in those sections have a limited number of replies because only people with extensive technical knowledge about Bitcoin respond to people's questions while also sharing their own knowledge about the technology behind Bitcoin.
I trust the forum's reputation, which led me to believe that any information obtained from this forum is firsthand information, because anyone who is replying to you is knowledgeable about what you have asked or can explain it further for you.
That is true as those few replies are obviously coming from those members who are highly knowledgeable  about those certain topics. And we can definitely learn from all of their posts, as those were valuable and quality posts. Otherwise, if one member is fool enough to reply without his first hand information about the topic, his post will end up deleted. That is why I stay away posting from those topics I am less knowledgeable or no knowledge at all, not just for the reason of post deletion, but also it’s a total red flag from the other reputable members.
1090  Economy / Economics / Re: Competition in business on: October 19, 2022, 09:11:17 PM
Competiton, especially healthy competition in business is good. We have seen technological innovations spring up as well as novel marketing ideas as a result of competition. Besides this, from the side of the consumers, there is a lot to gain from healthy competition among businesses. Imagine for a second two companies providing the same services and all of a sudden one company decides  to set its price too high, we know what will happen next. The consumers will just change service providers with the business with lower fees so as to save money.
For sure, the consumers won’t only go for lower prices without meeting the quality of the items. The quality and quantity should always go hand in hand. However, healthy competition gives us more advantage as the consumers because we are given choices which one is better than the other. Though it’s a sad reality that those who can’t keep up from the demand will bound to fall and may suffer bankruptcy.
1091  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: 2024 Bitcoin Halving - What are Your Expectations!!! on: October 19, 2022, 08:32:30 PM
I hope for widespread adoption and dismissal of the usual criticisms (energy, money laundering and other illegal activities, etc.) but I doubt that will happen by 2024. It will probably become another crazy year for bitcoin and other cryptocurrencies. Insane pumps/dumps from recently launched projects, more news on regulations, and bans.
2024 is just too early to say that we will achieve global adoption and see bitcoin price reaching its price above $100k. Let’s target btc price like $70k-$80k first knowing it’s quite possible for that. However, despite of the bitcoin halving that is set to happen by next year, I guess the market will more likely to stay bearish which means bitcoin is most likely not to reach significant heights that time. This is just my thought considering the current condition of the market.
1092  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin may drop to $15k or so but it'll definitely hit $300k+ in coming years on: October 18, 2022, 09:13:11 PM
Is $300k too high a target for the next bull season? The reality is that everyone is just trying to talk about the $100k goal before we hit the higher one, the fact that bitcoin is going to rise again is certain, but when exactly it will happen we do not know. With inflation still at its current high, I think bitcoin will fall further and $15k is possible but it will happen next year when the Fed raises interest rates to the highest they have planned.
Even $100k might still be hard to achieve by next year as we should target first $60k-$70k bitcoin price, hopefully bitcoin halving will make it possible. However, bitcoin to reach $300k, maybe let’s wait for 5-10 years before it will eventually happen. For now, let’s just hope that the bear market will turn into bullish so that bitcoin and altcoins will have chances to move forward and break another ATH.
1093  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Altcoins Will Go Parabolic on: October 18, 2022, 08:53:25 PM
the key is just following the btc trend, alts are just gonna have its season if btc trend is changing dirrection into increasing its value by then alts will follow otherwise it wouldn't go increase its value. I think investing in alts is as easy as following the trend of btc, because if you sees btc is changing its trend into bullrun when the alts are still aren't moving its value, it could be the right entry and could make your assets increase its value immediately.
It’s always bitcoin that will lead the market, so whatever it’s price moves, altcoins will definitely follow. However, seeing the market is not yet showing progress, then it would not be a wise idea to focus on altcoins for investments. Bitcoin is still the best coin to invest this time. You can diversify later on if you want, but I would suggest go for reputable altcoins as investing in new projects will only end up a mess.

In telegram group, when different account chat you and asking to help you then you know they are seeing a new catch or prey to eat up, run away. Admin is the only account to respond to with care because you don't have to believe everything you hear.
Telegram groups are full of scammers. They try to impersonate real admins and scam newbies.

Rules are don't talk to members who DM you first. Don't send them private key, wallet seeds, password. And definitely don't send them money.

It's fairly easy to just block people on telegram and also to not know whether someone you're talking to exists or not in my experience.

There's a lot of additional scams not mentioned here but I think op mentioned some relating to them as well as not doing any sort of trading with people you haven't met on a forum too might be a useful one to consider (unless you use an intermediary/escrow that you've found and can trust).
OP only tell about the most common scams we found in the crypto market, so this thread is still good enough. But if newbies want to gain full information about the different scams happening today not only in the crypto market but also in all types of investments, then just DYOR online, I’m sure everything is listed free in the internet.
1095  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Another opportunity is coming, a time to hold on: October 18, 2022, 07:58:58 PM
Well in this case it is indeed news that looks pretty good but if I'm not mistaken there were several surveys also at the end of last year or the beginning of the month in 2022 which said almost 50 percent of Americans could buy crypto this year.
In this case, buying does not mean it will be completely Bullish but seeing news like this, it is clear that there will be a bit of confidence in the next year although this is still uncertain because it is still assuming.
Considering this is just a survey, so it can still be a sort of speculation that may not eventually happen or may happen and turn into reality. However, knowing the market that is very unpredictable, I bet Canadians would somehow fear investing if the market is still very unstable and that bitcoin price still not reaching its significant price. But I just hope that they’ll know eventually that the best entry would be when the market is facing its bearish season, most likely the one we are experiencing now.
1096  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What efforts have you made to raise bitcoin awareness in your community? on: October 17, 2022, 11:14:03 PM
None, to be honest.

I don't want anyone to know that I have Bitcoin, and only the people close to me who I would trust with my life know. Everyone else, when the subject comes up, I get interested in it and ask questions as if I don't know much. It's funny because there are more than one who goes as an expert because he has read two things and has no idea.
At first, that was really my thinking that other people should never know that I’m into bitcoin, and I should always keep bitcoin as a secret. Until I realized that other people deserve to know so that they will also learn and gain profits from bitcoin, and then I start sharing it to some of my friends and relatives. Unfortunately, they were completely not convinced so I realized there’s no reason to spread awareness on that as they will always think that bitcoin is scam and same like others, it will end up vanishing like thin air. Right then, I never do anything that would convince others to trust bitcoin.
1097  Economy / Economics / Re: How to save as food inflation jumps more than 11% in a year on: October 17, 2022, 09:34:39 PM
How to beat food inflation:
1.Eat less. Grin Fasting is good for our health(even though I hear that some experts say that fasting is bad for our health). I don't know anything about nutrition and endocrinology.
2.Raise your own fruits and vegetables in your own garden or piece of land. The costs of doing agriculture are raising as well. The fall/winter are coming and you can't raise vegetables right now. Sad
3.Increase your income. Get a promotion and a higher salary. Grow your small business. I can't give any particular advise about how to do that.
Yes. These tips can be very helpful for us to save in this increasing inflation not just for foods but for all basic commodities. But I think the best tip here is grow your income. Find more ways to get additional income so that you will not be completely affected with these increasing prices around. If you have multi sources of income that give you bigger profits, then saving will not be a problem anymore.

MJ was one of the greatest, probably the greatest ever basketball player ever lived, but he is definitely not a good owner at all by the looks of how the team has done since he took over.

It's worth noting that the Hornets have always been the underdog, even when Jordan wasn't the owner and the team was called the Bobcats. They've never won a championship, a conference, and a division. Besides, they've only reached the playoffs 3 times in the last 18 years. So even if Jordan really wants to improve the Hornets' results, he will need to invest a lot more money and time.

Exactly!
There is a huge difference between being a great player and to become a great owner.
There's nothing much an owner can do if there's not enough funds to attract good players in comparison with the well established teams, and good players does not play for a team who's struggling to get to the playoffs and receiving lesser contract.
The Charlotte Hornets needs to have a pick like they did in 96. However, I think they are really terrible in building a good team lol.
Obviously, that is the case for the Hornets in the last couple of years, maybe it was a combination of bad luck, not getting good players in the draft or traded some of their players. But I think teams really need some time to become a champion like what happen to the Dubs, they have a lot of good and solid players in the past, but it was not a recipe to win championship. But when everything smiles on them, specially lady luck, they got Steph, Draymond and then Klay and then become multiple champions.

They are indeed sitting in the Warriors position back in the time where Warriors aren't viewed as a threat even if Steph and Klay was already there, it is because they aren't that ripe and well developed but they trust in the process and became what they are now. The same with the Charlotte Hornet's roster, if they will be guided in the right way, I won't be surprised that these team will be much more heavier in the upcoming years.
1100  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Boxing: Haney vs Kambosos II (Undisputed) on: October 14, 2022, 01:00:05 PM

I'm a fan of Davis, and also a fan of Ryan Garcia, I think things will be different once they are in the ring, and I believe that Ryan Garcia has the advantage due to his height and reach, and take note, he is also quick.

No doubt that would be a must-watch fight and if ever Garcia wins, he is undoubtedly a great boxer if he beat Davis without any injury. Ryan Garcia should really consider fighting worthy opponents nowadays since he already fought a number of nobody boxers and with their current popularity and Davis, it will surely be a blockbuster hit and adding up with some roasting against each other before the fight, I tell you, that would be one of the high revenue fights this year.

That's the kind of break he needed, beating a real champion will silence his doubters and he will gain their respect. Garcia has to be more aggressive in choosing an opponent, fighting champions will certainly fast-track him to where he wants to go, and that is a success.

Sooner or later, he will have to fight a real champion whether in Haney or Davis.

But it seems that Ryan wanted more of Davis and he said it's because he want to get his respect. He has to earn it though, if he keeps on fighting just nobody there will be no respect. And so he need to demand GBP to match him with the champion in this division by this time. Haney and Loma is the real big name here, not Tank Davis, just saying.

I agree, I say it's enough baby sitting him because he won't reach that far if Oscar Dela Hoya will keep on protecting him, he cannot overcome his mental issues as well if he'll just face a random unknown boxer. Calling Davis for a fight is a smart move and I think he already have Oscar's blessing for that, I just hope that Davis will give him some time.

Golden Boy already know that it's indeed time for Garcia to face boxer that is near his prowess/caliber, Javier Fortuna was his last test to make sure if Garcia is already fit to fight heavy names and it turns out that Garcia can do it because he defeated Fortuna with a good outcome and no signs of struggles. Although Tank Davis is a different story because he is an experienced boxer who defeated big names in industry unlike Garcia, but the latter have the chance because he have a good KO power.
