1081  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: ⚽UEFA Europa League Discussion Thread -- 2023/24 | Qualifiers on: October 05, 2023, 06:24:46 PM
I dont know what is with this england teams in europe league and conference. They are really bad in this tournament especially Brighton that just cannot find a way to win. They are losing 2-0 on halftime and i dont see them coming back from this honestly. They are completely different in premier league and in europe.

West Ham hold their own pretty well, a staple for me in UEFA but I have been cautiously stepping my foot off the Brighton gas for a few games now. Purged them from my FPL just before their thrashing by the Villains, and put Marseille on my picks tonight despite their hot/cold indifference in Ligue 1.

They're bottom half in the French farmers' league but they have rich experience at this stage, something I think Brighton are going to require time before they shake off their naivety...

What a round Matchday 2 was!

➥ In Pot A, arallmuus was so surprised I messaged him to get freebets he must not have realised he was the yellow capper of the round -- courtesy of being the only bastard to predict a scoreless draw at Dortmund. Well done! I already have Patrick's username but I also need it from you @Royse777. Congratulations on winning the freebets -- make sure you sign up at Rollbit.com, visit the sports section, and send me your usernames asap.

➥ In Pot B, as speculated after MD1, in a round with multiple upsets, we saw people pull away from the pack with tremendous hauls from slaman29 (58) and rdbase (40) to lift themselves into 1st and 2nd spot on the leaderboard respectively. At the same time, more people took home >10 points in this day than on MD1.

➥ NotATether won't be happy he followed up a strong 16 points from MD1 with zero from MD2. icopress gave himself a mountain to climb, netting only 4 points in Pot A and failing to submit Pot B...

➥ Some observations:
  • Copenhagen - Bayern was the least popular pick, attracting stakes from only 3 players
  • Napoli - Madrid was the most popular, with 21 players staking
  • Porto-Barca and Atletico-Feyenoord players were in total agreement, with all 9 players on each staking on Barca + Atletico.
  • the favourite underdog was PSG, with 8 players backing them. This is my second consecutive pick of the fav underdog, losing both.
  • 6 players staked 16 points on Galatasaray, and shared 105.6 points from MD2's highlight upset.

He definitely knew what he was talking about with that punt. It’s HT & PSG look shell shocked, they have a passive midfield, terrible from them.

Some of you guys know what you’re doing with the longer odds punts.

cryptofrka doesn't often share but I'm beginning to think now the mafia link we joke about on Cro2 is not so far in the realm of fantasy as I'd like to think.

as always, slow start in CL pool, some late goals last night took a lot of points, but still plenty of time to catch up

last season, had an impressive R16 round, that brought me back into top5, so it is never late
didn't expected Lazio to win, Young Boys to take point, even City to win over Leipzig, but Milan is still goalless after two rounds, who would say that

I got an exact score with RS Belgrade I felt books were optimistic hosting a Swiss side and I even nicked points in other upsets but paid dearly with failing to sense PSG's complete weakness... probably fair I'm bottom half of Superbru and top half of Pot B.

Someone explain me the Galatasaray logic please  Grin.
After Copenhagen beat United at home the logic will be clear  Grin I have a suspicion that besides the fact that United itself is weak, some of the players are already interested in changing the coach, so they  specifically are not trying to get good results. This theory is supported by the fact that the United management recently supported Ten Hag - I always see such statements when there is a conflict between the team and the coach.

Agreed Wink I think the only shame here is that, just like Chelsea, books will start adjusting odds down for their opponents (the same pattern is happening for City after winning the treble, I miss days when 25/1 is normal for City loss). Chelsea way to Fulham was only 2/1 (I took this on accas because of the huge value) ... can you imagine that world?

I think you're right about United players. You don't feel the love nor even respect from that team of spoilt brats. They should be backing their coach but oh well, long may their malaise continue.

Shame to see you go, Pulsar77, but real life always takes priority. Would have loved to meet you h2h in the league some day bot do come back if your situation changes! Also I hope you at least stay for the regular pools -- those don't need so much of your time and you can even set picks weeks ahead of schedule.

The rest of you, may you shrivel and wilt in this friendly...
1084  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: EFL English Championship League 2023/2024 on: October 04, 2023, 06:31:12 PM
Good idea to skip this round, notblox1 -- I'd have gone for an upset or two but generally I want 5/1 for that or 2/1 for a paper favourite, but nothing really stands out for me here except wait! Leeds aren't getting the best results and QPR 10/1 (I only got 9.6 but that's because I used my price boost for UCL)?

These teams are 5 points apart, QPR sliding down the table in the past 2 seasons but I'm banking them to snap their losing streak.

You don't agree? Match in 15 mins...

Trofo, great bets you've been sharing, I definitely don't know how to do those legs like that, mini-whale amounts too, Cro2 should just play in Div3 and retire on those winnings Wink

Spreadsheet scked, all good from my side. Div1 is going to be one tough nut to crack... I hope we can all agree Al cryptofrka-pone needs to be stopped.

Pegula out, advantage slackovic and vd309... Napoli will cost us few who went against Real.

By the way I said it before but will say it again. buwaytress, thank you very much for this format. I'm enjoying it incredibly much.

Happy to read! And much of the quick sharing of results is also made possible by joker_josue's format, so I'm quite pleased MD2 was quick. I think leaderboard was ready 5 mins after end of games. Response submission sharing was a little slower as had to manually fix some entries.

I guess risk vs reward is a thing in this type of pool and you certainly got the reward in this round.

Glad more people enjoying this! And precisely the objective. In Superbru, you could go for Galatasaray and at most be 3 points ahead of the pack. Unlucky and you earn 1 point (who picks 3-2 at Old Trafford?). That really discourages risk. In this format, the reward is a lot more akin to the risk, at least, I hope it reflects that!

buwaytress how can we see total amount of points won in stake competition?
I cant find table with points anywhere.

Answers given above but if you're ever in doubt -- and this goes for anyone: read OP. The most important links are placed right at the top (see red circle in screenshot below), and right at the bottom of OP (the first post on this thread). The rules, details, are also always on OP, updated. I recommend everyone reads the rules for a smooth experience =)

The Leaderboard & Responses link opens an Excel sheet, with tabs below to navigate Leaderboard and Matchday results (refer screenshot below). First tab shows current leaderboard, updated automatically after I enter MD results. First column on each of those subsequent tabs is your MD totals.

about the pool B, do i have to answer all the question there or just answer the question that i stake my point ?

The form isn't a questionnaire. It's simply a record of your picks. When you open up the submission form, there are instructions, please read them before answering so you're clear, but good to clarify.

1. Select the "Stake" checkbox if you want to pick that match to stake points on. As it says in the instructions, leave it unchecked if you want to skip the match.
2. Make your 1x2 pick.
3. Enter the points you want to stake.

You don't have to enter anything for matches you don't want to stake on, but we've not penalised anyone for this, so don't worry but next time, save yourself some time =)

Why is my points showing 18 which I got the first matchday with Porto,I just add Inter and put all the stakes to them yesterday morning for matchday 2 and it shows as 18 points when I should have 36 points. Is there any mistakes or not updated completely the table,I did my fill in of the google form yesterday morning so and it said success.

Nevertheless this shows that maybe some better options should be added to the way of how we enter our scores as I don't think I have made an error.

You did make an error in your submission. But no problem. MD1, many users made this error.

As explained by joker_josue, you didn't check "Stake" as instructions requested. See screenshot below.

I'm entering it for you manually so don't worry, you're not penalised but try to keep to the instructions for next time. It makes our lives easier =)

@rdbase @tokeweed were others who made this same mistake in this round, manually corrected so nobody lost points... tokeweed must feel so bad he staked TEN points on MUN-GAL draw and Icardi robbed him!

Finally, we have our first win. It wasn't pretty, but hugely damaging for United with Case, iro's sending off, and Galatasaray's enjoying their first European away win in ten years!

We return to Rome tomorrow as they host a first-timer, but I wonder if unknown Swiss factor can be a surprise? They lost narrowly to Rangers with 10 men and were tough in Genk -- amazing away performances and I feel like Roma is not better than Rangers/Genk now.

100 units at Sportsbet on Serviette to WIN vs Roma @20.80. Other odds: 19

Running advantage after 13 bets: +1097 (+180)

MD2 table is updated!

Sadly, we had everyone submit on MD1 but 4 people missed MD2. I honestly wanted to PM but I was out all day, and couldn't reliably do so. Don't worry though, MD1 had many zero scores, it's not a bad day to miss: jayce, KTChampions, M1cha3lM, icopress. rohang

I got my first points on Braga though, yee haw! And followed that with a fantastic Galatasaray upset -- but man, the big winner of MD2 is slaman29 who staked frigging 8 points on them!

@cryptofrka interested to hear your Newcastle reasoning!

You probably should set an alarm and add the title of the thread for the reminder, it's very tough to keep up with all these pools without needing a reminder for a couple of them, it's easier to get reminded when there is a mobile app of the pool on your mobile device, but very easy to forget the pools that have to do filling google forms with answers and predictions.

Everyone came in to do it last time with 1 reminder so I expected the same. I'll nudge gently next time =)

Thanks for posting results, I'll check tomorrow when I'm not tired haha.

Re friendly... I'm not sure why I like throwing money away, entered picks for friendly but in a bit of a rush, although I did do a quick peek ar Beijing Open (surprised how many are still alive, really).

I've already settled my Harko loss so I must be feeling real itchy.

You guys watching Newcastle? I'm ready to see United lose tonight.

I'm very surprised because of seeing that you are still boasting with the win you got against me. I assume that you have forgotten a small detail as the leagues have ended:

I didn't want my team to feel too big-headed. Need them hungry next season =p

Thank you for all the feedback and discussions guys. I'm glad the consensus seems to be that Pot B is at least an acceptable format. Superbru will likely be the mainstay of all the pools due to simplicity and familiarity, but as I mentioned before the active group of people/gamblers here don't mind experimentation and BSFL/Cro2 are about to enter into an expanded season 3 -- for me that's proof that the cream of the crypto gambling forum responds well to interactive vs passive interaction.

@arallmuus I think that concept would be prettier, but Trofo and cryptofrka speak from experience and I agree:
- visibility and exposure on a forum of real crypto users/gamblers
- lack of resources (they have a business, they would be swamped with training someone to manage this and respond to issues

Anyway, tagging those who haven't submitted. You still have a couple of hours so don't delay!

Not available for me owing to region I think but for all you cricket fans, Brett Lee's the prize on this current promo at an EPL game in London (Newcastle visiting Arsenal for a hashclash v2 mayhaps?), but the 2nd prize isn't too shabby as well, really, F1 in Bahrain?

Hotel stays even aren't prizes to sniff at.

1096  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Sportsbet.io's English Premier League Football Pool Discussion Thread on: October 02, 2023, 09:44:57 PM
Yeah, Liverpool is getting a taste of their own medicine after the same FA single-handedly awarded you the FA Cup trophy two seasons ago after ruling out an ONSIDE goal from Lukaku. I never thought the day would come when both Liverpool and Manchester United would moan over Ref rulings. It's only been seven games, and you've already received four red cards (two of which have been overturned). Dirty tactics!

PGMOL are spreading the virus this season, which is great since it means Chelsea aren't alone in their disaster. And nothing will change as long as these refs and VAR are not punished for incorrect officiating.

Sorry Igehhh fren, these are worlds apart.

Personally, I thought Lukaku's goal should have stood -- but we had many goals that season ruled out across EPL and cups for being marginally offside. Mane's armpit/kneecap, shoelace etc. That was when VAR followed the letter of the law, everyone paid the (technically correct) price.

Diaz's goal was actually given, incorrectly communicated, and no VAR review. Then, after realising their mistake, they opted NOT to interrupt the game. It's been called the biggest error Prem has seen.

But you're right, I'm moaning, and I say game on. un_rank right, let it go. We can overcome these nevertheless =) VAR officials taken off duty may be punishment enough. But I hope people realise VAR was brought in because of ref human error (which most including myself accept as part of free-flowing football).

But the tech has really been painful and caused, perhaps, just as many errors.

What I mean was not about the impact but the player unlucky, as in no intention and no initial risk. It was nasty for sure but the initial foot was not studs up. The ball just turned his foot away and made it stand on the opponent. Anyway Smiley

Intent is no longer important in dismissing an offence (intent confirms, but lack of intent doesn't absolve). Here, it is excessive force instead that could cause injury, regardless of intent. Unlucky, sure, but can't argue much against the law.

Next pick described a little below but it's also UCL's standout game for me this week.

100 units on Galatasaray to WIN vs Man Utd @7.82. Other odds: 7.40
Bet ID: 651ad1504149c60001f373f7
Units advantage: 42

Running advantage after 12 bets: +917 (+42)
All-time cumulative: +90,967
Running units after 11 bets (0W|11L): -1100 (-100)

Yep. The undeniable rule of this thread is to bet against City with odds >10  Cool
As for the Leipzig - City game, it is interesting in every sense, although I still don’t see anything other option than BTTS (even with a small odds) - City have two defeats in a row, are they really ready to make three?

Agreed and glad you caught on haha. City odds against aren't great, and the team they play I can't learn enough about so it's a miss for me. Leipzig can be hot too, so it's not a bad bet.

Tomorrow's pick, however, is my obvious glaring opportunity as United smell bad, look bad, plat bad, while Galatasaray are on a hot streak (yes they went down 2 goals vs Kopenhagn but they came back!

I tried to find this then I had to double check this and it seems you had mistaken Frosinone for Udinese or unless you actually mean AS Roma vs Udinese but the match will be on 26th November though but I double checked the betslip as well and it was Frosinone. Anyway, too bad that AS roma won the game and it was not even close for Frosinone

You're right! My mistake, blind brain, and Roma snapped their streak (oh well)!

Still only around 10 responses so far but I expect people are waiting on some team news (personally, I don't think it's much of a difference in Pot B) but I'll ping out reminders tomorrow.

Don't forget, you can also try out Rollbit.com's promo! https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5468233.0

Hey is there any possibility to update some of the odds on the questionnaire? I noticed some of them are very different from current odds, would be nice to catch a bit more from the update Wink

It's going to be problematic. Odds change all the time, sometimes big swings in a day. And then others who've already entered picks will invariably be upset (or happy). Even some of my picks enjoy better odds now than when I locked in mine, but it could go the other way... everything evens out.

tbh i have been travelling the 3rd world for the last year, and after previously indulging in A5 japonese wagyu (11+ score) atleast once a week during all of covid, i've been forced to quit cold turkey and the withdrawals are quite serious.

more money to gift to timmy tho i guess

Just saw your reply late here. You've got to try buffalo and other "gamier" meats in the third world/global South. I'm at best an accidental, opportunist fine dine dilletante but after years of dunking in hat, I'm actually the other way round. Really miss street/village style cooking -- while lacking the finesse of wagyu luminaries, they have some kind of liveliness about them no fine food can replicate.

Go get your money back by continuing to go against United and Chelsea!

Or if you like to live a bit more dangerous, Betbuilders with Liverpool conceding first Wink

I know Roma are too good to continue their rot (not to mention they have an unnatural record of hitting the post this season, also holding it last season) but I like betting on streaks and the odds seem a bit too good to pass on given form so it's our pick for today:

Other odds: 8.10

Running advantage after 11 bets: +875 (+72)
