1161  Economy / Speculation / Re: Does anyone think it will be much harder to buy bitcoin later on down the road? on: September 18, 2022, 11:39:19 PM
Just wanted everyone's thoughts on how easy it is to get bitcoin now, and what getting bitcoin might be like in the future? For example, I can simply go on cashapp and buy btc, send to a wallet I own the keys to. I can also use localbitcoins, paxful, I mean the list is kinda endless. Will that list become...not so endless in the future as the value gets higher?

Why should this happen? If we are talking about ongoing bitcoin adoption, then on the contrary, bitcoin should be available to as many people as possible and in as many services as possible. If the global adoption continues, there will be more ATMs in different cities, more stores accepting bitcoin, and more online services where you can buy or sell bitcoin. What is the point of complicating the purchase of bitcoin? In the future, this list, on the contrary, will only increase, and this is logical from the point of view of the development of the entire crypto industry.
I guess that’s what all global adoption means, to create more opportunities for buying and selling bitcoin easier and faster. Otherwise, if there will be complications in accessing bitcoin in the future, then we should not pursue our main goal for bitcoin global adoption in the first place.
1162  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Well! Bitcoin doesn't have this problem on: September 18, 2022, 08:38:59 PM
For how long should people understand the importance to have bitcoins for emergencies such as this one?

They found it once they change their mind and stop from thinking it was a scam and useless stuff. Because as long as they are in that negative mindset, nothing will be able to see but all of the negative views of Bitcoin. However, I'd see no reason why we have to urge people from adopting this new form of the payment system as it was the first for them to learn it and give value to this new creation. I have no clue what is really in their mind but for sure, the doubts and worries make them afraid to try.
The only problem with people nowadays is that they become so dependent on whatever the says of the government to a certain thing or issue, and bitcoin is not an exception. The fact that bitcoin is already judged before it can prove its value, that makes it hard for bitcoin to gain the trust of the people. I guess when everything is clear about bitcoin and people will realize and start seeing it’s potentials, then there will be no same scenarios anymore like this Lebanon bank issue as people will prioritize bitcoin over banks.

Yordenis Ugas Eyes Ring Return Next Year, Targets Keith Thurman, Jaron Ennis, and Vergil Ortiz

Yordenis Ugas might not have that big hype named until he beats Manny Pacquiao and got his best ever title in his entire boxing career, the WBA SuperWelterWeight title that becomes his ticket to fight in an unification match against Errol Spence Jr. who prior to their fight, holding the IBF and WBC welterweight titles. Unfortunately, he failed to win in that match and the direction of his career becomes unclear.

However, he is looking forward returning to the ring next year and some of his targets are Keith Thurman (who didn't fight have an official fight for 31 months but still managed to win unanimously against Mario Barrios on February this year), Vergil Ortiz and Jarron Enis.

Not expecting much from him but good for him to make some money before retiring.

Ugas does not deserve to fight Boots Ennis or Keith Thurman, I reckon. Boots Ennis will be the next king of welterweight boxing and Keith Thurman has recently won versus Mario Barrios. It might be more deserving for Ennis and Thurman to fight each other and the winner challenges Spence or Crawford for the their championships.

It's possible, I mean we aren't the ones who are calling the shot, but I think it is too early for Thurman to have his turn to fight Ennis without getting a fight against Ugas first because Ugas bets Pacman while Thurman have lost to Pacman. Thurman needs to climb through the rank too and overcome Ugas before he gets to fight Ennis and then the winner will get his chance to fight Spence or Crawford.
1164  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: September 16, 2022, 01:14:06 PM
Many are saying that the penalty for Robert Sarver is very light a $10 million fine and suspension for a year, just a walk in the park for him, and they added that Sarver should get a heavy punishment and I think once a racist will always be racist, and his punishment should be like the one the Los Angeles Clippers owner Donald Sterling got, and that is a lifetime ban, which would be fairly fitting for Sarver, but then they explained that Sarver's case is different with the Sterling case that is why they will have different punishment which is I definitely don't understand,

I can't say I really understand the difference either.  I guess maybe because Sterling was caught on tape?  Who knows...  I haven't had time to review the report yet, but it sounds like more of the Sterling nonsense like you said.  I did see something at a glance about inappropriate touching to male employees?  It seems like Sarver has some issues that aren't just rooted in racism.  I hope he is left with a sour taste in his mouth and explores selling the team.  As a businessman, he's got to see that the value is at an all time high and headed lower as this recession takes hold.  He should do everyone a favor, including himself, and sell the team.

Even CP3 has spoken about that issue and he said that he indeed think that the penalty is very light specially the suspension and there are lot of media criticizing Adam here and it seems it is going to be a challenge for him as a NBA commissioner. And slowly some notable players are also giving their opinion about the case, like Lebron. And yeah, this could meted a lifetime ban and maybe he will have to sell the team. He had a lot of black players and if he continues to be a a racist then there's no way that he should be allowed to own any sporting team for that matter.

Most of the players are black and racism is a big issue in the US, he is lucky that he only has a light punishment considering his financial status. I hope people will stop racism, this is not good, we have to be trained fairly as we are all humans, and we are not anymore living in the past.

Even Lebron James himself have spoken about Robert Sarver's bad behavior and racism towards the players, also, I don't really get why there are those kinds of people who just shows bad attitude towards some specific culture without a reason, they are just plain angry just by looking at them. Now, the people and players in the league aren't happy with the NBA's decision towards the case and I bet the commissioner will be forced to do some steps so that he won't get blamed.

1165  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Crawford vs Spence on: September 15, 2022, 07:57:19 PM
^ I think everyone or at least the majority knows that Crawford wanted this fight since the beginning. And we have been suspecting that it might be the camp of Spence that is delaying this fight for years because of Crawford with Top Rank. But since he is no longer with Bob Arum, we all expect that this fight is going to be made easy. But it seems there is another stumbling block and we all have our speculations and again pointing out the obvious that Spence wanted more time or at least holding up the fight again.

Agree! That fact is not new to us anymore because we knew how Crawford wanted this fight but he just couldn't do it because of Bob Arum and now that he's free, there's another roadblock again that prevents him from making his legacy because it really seems to the public that Spence is not interested to fight Crawford this year after all that statement he made when Spence defeated Ugas.

This might be a picture of modern Mayweather and Pacquiao because I honestly think that Spence is using Mayweather's manual in order to increase his chances of winning the fight.
1166  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing]: Vasiliy Lomachenko vs Jamaine Ortiz - October 29 on: September 15, 2022, 07:25:27 PM
They said that Haney is a boring fight, well, I would say he would not be able to play safe against a technical Loma, because if he has speed, Loma has quickness as well and not only that, he is also very precise in throwing his punches. I'm sure everyone here can't wait to see this fight so we will know the winner, and if it's Loma, there's a chance that they will fight early next year if Haney will beat Kambosos again.

Haney if fitted against another counter-puncher then expect that to be a boring fight but not with a very technical Lomachenco as what you have said. That would be an exciting fight and I have Loma to emerge as the victor because he has the power in both hands. Just look at what he did to Rigo when they meet, the latter has nowhere to hide and as a result, retires on his stool in that fight.

Loma vs Haney is the fight everyone is waiting for but Loma needs to take care first of Ortiz and Haney to defeat Kambosos as well.

That's true! Haney will be much tested by Loma if their fight will really happen soon enough and the fight will not be boring to see anymore because of the latter's technicalities that will likely make the undisputed boxer struggle. That will be a sight that I wanted to see!

But for now, both of them still have their own respective fight that needs to be won by both camps so that their fight will be inevitable. However, I believe Loma won't have a hard time defeating Ortiz as this fight is likely a tune-up for Loma before he face Haney.
1167  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Boxing: Dmitry Bivol vs Zurdo Ramirez on: September 15, 2022, 07:01:50 PM
If only Ramirez will take advantage of his height and reach against Bivol. But then again, Bivol has a good ring IQ so it may have even it up or Bivol will have the slight advantage because of his footwork.

We cannot really know for sure because Ramirez is also an experienced boxer professionally and already fought boxers in his size in 3 different divisions so I think that will give him some good ring IQ somehow too. I'm not pro-Zurdo either but we can't really underestimate him and Bivol should be more careful this time, and expect that Zurdo will use his advantages.

Both are experienced boxers so that nullifies the advantage of it.  Ramirez may have the height advantage and may use it to move around the ring avoiding Bivol's charges, but Bivol's move in cutting the ring will be found as one of important factors of the fight.

Aside from that Ramirez punches aren't that quick/fast and can be easily seen when released, they may be powerful enough to KO Bivol but it won't do anything if they can be blocked or evaded.  If Bivol will not get careless on this fight, I think Bivol might end up victorious in the upcoming fight.

I guess there is only one way to find that out, for me, I'll give Zurdo a benefit of the doubt as he also have what it takes to earn his name in this division and might go after Beterbiev if he will be successful in stripping Bivol his belt. But as you said, I cannot also take away the fact that Bivol is truly more agile than Zurdo and that alone might do the trick in outperforming Zurdo.

And that could be the biggest drawback for Zurdo, he is too big and more so, he might be a bit slower that Bivol. and we have witnessed Bivol's movement, he is fast in his feet and knows how to cut the ring.

And in the beginning, it seems that we are not giving Zurdo a chance, although he is undefeated. But maybe he will have few surprises for Bivol to make this fight very close.

We cannot know that for sure because the guy has been climbing 3 divisions and still keeps on winning, so that means that he is somehow comfortable and agile in light-heavy because of that fact. Nevertheless, it's still best if we won't underestimate Zurdo first and let him show his strength towards the defending champion, Bivol.
1168  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What is your plan with Bitcoin? on: September 14, 2022, 09:57:58 PM
Same as you, buying bitcoin in weekly status or at least when I have fiat at hand and just be a HODL. And since we are in a bear market, they are in a discounted price so we should take advantage of it.

And it's also a long term goal for me, I have stocks that I have hold for more than 10 years now so I believed that I can do that to bitcoin or even longer, (at least 3 bull run cycles), so let's see.

Using DCA every time I bough bitcoin was certainly all set for my long term investment so I won’t be here for just a month or two but definitely for few years of hodling. That’s my plan about bitcoin, and just seize every opportunity that comes wherein I can still add bitcoin to my portfolio because I always have strong belief that the more you store bitcoin, the higher the profits you will reap in the future.
1169  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Fernando Martinez vs Jerwin Ancajas rematch - Oct.8 on: September 14, 2022, 07:46:53 PM

So it's bad to stay in a weight division wherein you can't really make weight, another example is Casimero. he wanted to fight Inoue so he stayed in that division and in the first scheduled fight against Butler, he fell ill. And in the second one, he was caught with the Sauna thingy.

He was already struggling to keep the required weight, it's just too bad for Casimero as he was caught cheating, he could have just move up and be the number 1 contender to fight the champion. For Ancajas here, there's still one more chance for him to avenge his loss, if he wins here, people will stop doubting him, if he losses, then no choice for him but to move up.

I wouldn't directly say that he Casimero is cheating though, probably most boxers are doing that sauna thing to lose more liquid in their body prior to the fight and it could be the norm. What hurts Casimero is that he still has a lot of weight to lose days before the fight. So the issue is that him or someone from his team didn't monitor his weight and didn't do their assignment as far as safety is concern regarding losing that extra pound. But the focus now is Inoue vs Butler, but I'm not sure if the door is close between Inoue and Casimero. Maybe in the next weight class we will see them fight.

Casimero has no one to blame because he himself is already guilty about why he reached that stage, he knows that he has some issues with his weight so he should've prepared for that much earlier after he was declared healthy by his team. Also, I agree that his team should also know their job well because without Casimero getting some fights that also means that they won't get paid.

Quote
Maybe in the next weight class we will see them fight.

Yes, that's the last opportunity for Casimero to get a fight against Inoue if both of them will climb the next weight class.
1170  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Boxing Speculation, Odds and Predictions on: September 14, 2022, 07:23:41 PM

He can always have any exhibition fight after his pro boxing career is over and this guy is a truly charitable person who always wanted to help. One of his ways is becoming to get into politics to further help others in need. Anyway, his era is over and we are now living in a different era where names like Inoue, Canelo and Haney, and others are the talks in the boxing industry. next Saturday will be a huge fight that will be one of the historical fights this year can't really wait for that. Canelo vs GGG III will finally happen.

Sad to say but both Canelo Alvarez 32 years old and Gennadiy Golovkin GGG 40 years old are near Manny Pacquiao's age, especially GGG, so I think for a couple of years and they will eventually need to retire at some point because their age is catching up to their speed, power, and durability, but surely it is their own choice if they still want to fight then they can,

Well, they cannot do anything about that but accept their reality as it is really inevitable and they don't have to worry anything about retirement because they have spent their boxing years very well and have been successful in making their legacy, especially Canelo who became an undisputed boxer and a pound for pound king.

Though Golovkin already said that he won't retire yet regardless of the result in their trilogy but I'm thinking that 2 years will be already long before he retires while Canelo still has almost a decade left in his career before he starts considering to retire.

1171  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: September 14, 2022, 06:37:43 PM
Hot topics are still about the Lakers, Lebron, AD, and Russ.

1 more month to go and the new season starts. I honestly would like to see Russ traded so the Lakers will have a strong line-up with no excuses if they can't compete on top. But I agree with the odds, the Boston Celtics are the real favorites next season with even more additional acquisitions for this season. My main focus will be on the 76ers and T'wolves though. I am just super curious about how the new twin towers perform when the league is currently going smaller.

Any NBA ESPN or Yahoo Fantasy player here?

I agree with you that the Boston Celtics are the real favorite next season but I also have to say that if the players are in good form the Lakers can also be really deadly in every match. But for that King LeBron James and his teammates have to play really well. I think that if LeBron James can get enough support from his teammates, the Lakers will do really well this season. But also I am concerned that injurious might have a really bad effect on the Lakers as I think that their players are quite fragile compared to other teams.

Maintaining to be physically healthy for the whole season is a really big challenge for the Lakers, especially for Anthony Davis, or at least he'll just have some minor injury that can be healed in-between games but if the worst thing will happen again then I don't think that the Lakers will reach the playoffs because Lebron cannot possibly carry the team always.
1172  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: trading is good for traders with passive mindset on: September 13, 2022, 11:17:17 PM
So trading suits people with passive mindset as they make Profits and these set of people always have a way of handling or escaping the bear market.
Trading suits those who can remain calm in a bear market and in a bull market. Trading is not just about making profits but know how to make and when to make profits. If the goal in trading is to profit and not learn the process then it is going to end up as a chore.

What most traders get wrong is that they take up trading as another earning mode which is wrong. A speculative market is good for making side earnings but should not be viewed as a main earning. For this the passive mindset does not matter, what does matter is that you get into the right coin at that right time.
But it would make a lot of difference if you started learning the process first and develop it so you can obtained future skills and strategies in trading. That way, making profits through trading will be a lot easier. And with having a passive mindset as a trader, you are not only going to wait for the time to make profits, but you should be the one to look for ways on how to create profits regardless of whatever the market condition is.
1173  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Things to keep in mind before accumulation of Bitcoin on: September 13, 2022, 08:57:51 PM
Whale's participations really have a huge market influence bringing most of us to rely upon them. We tend to know what really they do and plan next in order for us to be prepared but unfortunately, we did not.
In this situation of the market, DCAing is certainly the most applicable way of accumulating Bitcoin. Buy low, hold and sell if there is already a profit. In fact, this idea has already been practiced by many so I believe this is really working despite how these whales are doing and manipulating the market.
Whales will always be whales, and their influence on the crypto market has always been inevitable ever since. So it’s up to us how we can handle such situations that are caused by whales. It’s better if we could move normally and just don’t rely and ignore them like they don’t exist. As long as we always DYOR in the market and knows the best entry and the best exit, then everything good will follow. And when it comes to bitcoin accumulation, just buy low and sell high, and always do DCA so you cannot miss every price drop happening in the market.
1174  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Too good to be true? on: September 13, 2022, 08:34:20 PM
Is it possible to invest 100$ in altcoin and turn to 7,000$? Have this ever happened to anyone on here? Is this even possible?.
As long as you are holding the right coin and hold it for long term investment like 3-5 years, well this will eventually turn into a very huge profits in time. But honestly, when it comes to altcoins, the risk is very high so you have to invest in a well established coin that has proven its worth the whole time. Otherwise, you will only lose  hodling your altcoin. However, if you chose bitcoin for investment, I guess this will make you profitable faster than altcoins.
1175  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: It Is Dangerous To Completely Rely On Cryptocurrencies on: September 12, 2022, 11:28:05 PM
Why would someone rely on crypto as their lifeline to continue living or to get their dream life? Its really not a good idea. Investment is associated with risk, so even its not cryptocurrency there is no guaranteed of success. Maybe in business where the flow is good but investment is a highly risk kind of activity where the loss of fund is highly possible to occur.
There are always risks no matter how potentials those investments are. So to lessen the risk, it will be a lot better to find a stable source of living and then invest in cryptocurrencies for additional income. Remember that investments do not always create profits especially if there are factors that trigger it. So one should always have various options when it comes to sources of profits.
1176  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Investing for a real Assets on: September 12, 2022, 09:50:51 PM
While Going through the book Rich dad, poor dad my mind refrain back to this; INVESTING FOR A REAL ASSET

And it says a true luxury is a reward for investing in and developing a real asset.having read that I was contemplating and as well need clarification for this.If BTC is an asset.because it was said that an asset is money in your pockets,so how does BTC relate to being a real asset, and what is a real asset and how do you invest for a real Assets.
Apparently, the answer to your questions are all up to you. If you believe in bitcoin and see its potentials to be profitable in the long run, then obviously it a real asset. But if you have doubts and become hesitant on the potentials of bitcoin, then it won’t be a real asset to you. After all, assets are just there waiting to be discovered, it’s all up to you how you invest in it and show the right attitudes as an investor.
1177  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Is trading gambling in another form? on: September 11, 2022, 11:38:05 PM
Some people may talk like that, but I think trading and gambling are very different. Trades have an agreed consensus analysis even though they already have an agreement that takes the form of a sell or buy order. So they have agreed and it is very different from gambling. Gambling or betting is usually only armed with a lucky guess. So trading is not gambling, but it can be trading into gambling because it does without analysis and only based on guesses.
Trading may fall likely into gambling if you risk your money without trading preparation from the start. Though others still make profits and sometimes become lucky in trading, but in most cases, if you trade without skills and good marketing analysis, you will never succeed and become profitable. Trading is more likely gained and acquired, while gambling is just pure luck based and wild guesses.
1178  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin could drop to $10,000 by 2023 as the Fed normalizes interest rate policy on: September 11, 2022, 10:13:26 PM
$10k would be a fairly round number for us to stop at though so we probably wouldn't be able to stop there. Which might mean we could go below that or hold a bit above it - and it'll be particularly interesting if we go below imo (especially if it stays there for a few days).

There's probably enough people trying to guess the bottom though and only one will be right, we're nowehere near the $14k low that was prophesised to be the bottom of the last drop too.
Well, no one can really tell what will be the future price of bitcoin. If it drops to $10k in the future, then maybe we can’t do nothing about it. But isn’t it’s another good opportunity to buy and hold? Strong hands will always see and realize this, while weak hands tend to be more panic and develop fears. The reason why weak hands never end up long term winners.

Any thoughts on the report that NBA will announce expansion teams on its pre-season. The teams will be Las Vegas and Seattle.

If it is Supersonics, I think it will continue the history of the previous Supersonics.

If this happens, as the report said, there will be reshuffling in conferences. Each conference will now have 16 teams each.

https://www.si.com/nba/raptors/news/nba-to-announce-expansion-teams-las-vegas-seattle-during-preseason

That's quite new, good if they will expand so they can accommodate plenty of talents. I remember before, I think Durant started as a Seattle Supersonics before he goes to OKC. Will be following this update but I think it will not take effect this coming season.

I like it. I remember there were 32 teams in the NBA before. Seattle always wanted to bring back NBA to its city. I don't know how they lost their team earlier. These last years I also heard rumors of Las Vegas or Nevada wanting to join the NBA too.

So how will NBA gonna do this? Las Vegas or Nevara and Seattle pretty sure belong to the west. Maybe transfer some of the teams that are located in the middle to the eastern conference? I'm thinking both Minnesota and Oklahoma transferred to the eastern conference. But if they want to draw a line to make sure there was no bias then it's Minnesota and Houston going to the eastern conference. Team owners in the east might complain because Minnesota is looking like a serious contender and everybody knows that Houston is rich and it won't take them long before appearing in the playoffs again especially that they have many future draft picks.

The defunct teams have their own reasons why they disappeared from the league, some of them are already old enough to dig what's their reasons but the league has to move on and currently there are 30 teams in the NBA and there's a speculation that it will be 32 again, adding Seattle and Las Vegas.

To answer your question above, here's the likely situation if the NBA will indeed add two teams in the league.
Quote
One Western Conference team would have to be moved to the Eastern Conference to balance out the conferences. With 16 teams in each conference, that means one Eastern Conference division would hold six teams.
Below are three speculative ideas on how it could shake out:
* Minnesota Timberwolves
* Memphis Grizzlies
* New Orleans Pelicans
