it might but why ? there is other mining soft ware more suited for GPU mining then BFG Is now . but to find out you have to compile BFG with --enable-scrypt --enable-opengl flags. or maybe just turn on I use BFG with my 156 MH ASIC script miner . by default both are off according to the main BFG readme so no AMD card will work under BFG till both flags are on and BFG may not support most of the new algorithm anyway, BFG is mainly used for ASIC miners now and works best with them you can use a GPU to mine with BFG but it takes some doing but possible. This is from the README.GPU in the BFG folder. EXECUTIVE SUMMARY ON GPU USAGE (SEE ALSO README.scrypt FOR SCRYPT MINING): By default, BFGMiner will NOT mine on any GPUs unless in scrypt mode. If you wish to use your GPU to mine SHA256d (generally not a good idea), you can explicitly enable it with the -S opencl:auto option. here's my minin rig with a modded bios and not using afterburner/ aka third party soft ware to overclock "  . that's with 2 RX 470 and one r7 370 im replacing in about two weeks .that rig is doing about 70 mh because of the 370 once I replace it or keep it running and tweak the new 470 or 480 i may buy a 480 not sure yet, i should get very close to 95 mh may even hit 100 mh if it's a 480.I still use a r9 280 in a pc that does 17 mh overclocked it's water cooled also, i love mining .!! it's lots of fun,  hope this help some !!! |

To upgrade your gpu from 20.5 to 23.5mh here is the youtube video to step you right through it. Download the latest driver first just like Citronic said Crimson 16.9.2 then, I did each card one at a time in the slot that they would be placed. I had been watching some other vids from that same guy and stumbled across that one. Will definitely give that mod a shot after I get everything else squared away. That extra 5 per card is going to equate to a full extra card on my 5-card rig. Did you notice any extra power efficiency from that mod as well? Or would something else need to be employed to accomplish that? In addition, can you share how you got these GPUs running at 23.5? I have 3 of the exact same cards and they are getting 20.7 each using Claymore 7.2. This is similar to the initial 20.5 you mentioned being the out of the box speed, but I am looking for the easiest way to increase the speed of mine up to the mid-20's like yours. Was it something you did in the settings in Claymore or did you mod/overcloud the cards in some way?
This may be a good start. The premise is the same. Use polaris bios editor to tweak the memory settings. There are additional tweaks you can make, but you run the risk of hosing your card. I looked up that -ethi command in the CDM readme file and understand that it is set at a default of 8, so hoping that uping that will indeed increase the speed. The thing is, I cannot figure out how to enter that command. I was thinking that it is just typed directly into the command window where CDM is running. But, when i try that by starting with the "-", it actually decreases the DCR hash-rate. I also found out the the "+" increases DCR hash-rate and even bumping it from default 30 to 32 does increase hash-rate about 10%, which is encouraging. But... how do I get that -ethi command to take? I even tried pasting it in but it did not work either. On the driver update, I simply am baffled lol. I downloaded the exact packet i needed directly from the AMD site... actually has Crimson 16.9.2 in the title, as well as in the header when I launch the installer. I triple checked and made sure that I downloaded the correct version for W7 x64, but after installing the display driver in this packet, my driver now only shows as v16.40. Not sure how this is possible or how to actually get 16.9.2. I ran as Admin and even uninstalled the v16.30 that was on my box before this, but to no avail. Any suggestions on how to get 16.9.2 installed?okay answer for the first part.. i have found that using the cmd line to do settings gets buggie and doesnt always take so i use the config file for all the commands second part. i had to pull all of my cards but one to get the driver to install completely and correctly. i also did a clean install of the driver too. I'm guessing it is windows your installing it on ? . yup do a clean install that all most all ways fixes any windows issue I'm having unless i have bad hard ware or hardware is going bad , after you install it find out what windows services you need on, no matter what, turn off the rest and update windows let it install any and all drivers for your cards, don't uninstall those base drivers so Ive found out, just upgrade to the new ones from AMD site then turn off windows update and you may or may not have to turn stuff off or on, on your motherboard via the Mbios. |

I'm getting 25-27 mh/s stable on the 4GB RX 470s using modded BIOS. Could get a bit more out of them but its nice to not have to worry about rigs crashing while I am away - negating the small bump in hashrate.
The 8GB models are 28-29 mh/s - stable.
These speeds are running Claymore's dual ETH miner with DCR (-dcri 30, just leaving it stock).
same with my two 470 and a mix of 3 other cards,Im slowly replacing . it's very stable and overclocked from the bios , i think im gonna leave it how it is, both 470 @ 27.892 mh or higher without using Afterburner, and no crashing in the last 2 days after modding the bios and i have no problem with using third party software, if needed. |

IT seems GPU mining just won't die unless you have very deep packets for S9 . I went back to it, it's more fun now then it ever was , because the cards have more then one use, can be resold a lot better then a S9 can be, if the cards start becoming outdated. they last longer, the card makers will won't stop selling to the Public for any reason, there is to much money they lose unless the market some how doesn't need them any more .
GPU mining is the way to go if you want to home mine now the big guys all but completely killed off bitcoin mining in homes you still can but be ready to run all most 12 , 12 TH miners to make any thing, so @ 1.300 us per bitcoin miners plus supply's, that may become out dated 6 month later with all most no ROI because they cost to much, (if that's your reason for mining )Id go with GPU mining it won't die and seems to be more fun now then it ever was and the cards are sold all most any place in the world but you can't mine bitcoin any more with GPU's and make anything,if that's the plan even with so called free Electricity, mining bitcoins with gpus is worthless . and nothing is free it all has a cost in one way or an other .

I did when it only worked with Ubuntu 16 i see it now works with 14 . then it had major issue working to well for mining . I may go try again i just bought two 470 and buying an other one in about two weeks and one a month for while till i have a 4 by 4 rig farm rolling .
I could never get it to work right with other AMD cards but i also had older cards so i stayed with windows 10 or had to use fglrx with Ubuntu 15 or lower. but now it looks like they improved it more for the 400 series plus i have cards it works best with,now, so i may give it another try.

it all comes down to one thing Money for some reason they think they are losing something , because some one is doing better then they are and they can't get in on the action, even if you follow all the rules, they will all ways look for ways to get more. In a way it matches with what you said about them updating the power lines in your area and this is their way to get info on what wire, transformer, and fusing sizes to put in. My local power company likes to send out usage emails every week and typically I am a constant 3x higher usage than the 'Average' user in my area (and 4x higher than the lowest reported). Like Savior, I have 200A service, miner load is 3.5kW so yes, using a lot but well under the service maximum. Aside from the friendly usage notes, never heard a word from the power co about usage. All I can say is that if for some reason you *do* get raided make sure all your ducks are in a row so ya can laugh at them... eg, if legally growing, follow all rules: (# of plants), location (near a school?), Notice signage (State rules regarding growing), etc. If a legal user, have your MM card and/or be sure to be under max weight of weed in the house. mine does the exat sme thing in fact we got notice at the door in person the other day between now and the end of the year they will be replacing a pole just out side our door and wires, we had a issue with 2 years ago one of the wire burnt out to our house we had a very high bill that month as well we never fought it, because we didn't know, bitcoin mining has taught me a lot . |

I think i missed this : why did they raided you the first time what was the out come ?. yea i know what it's like to have your home invaded by the law or be watched for pot growing . we were, our garden had some plants that looked question able . for about two weeks we had shit fly over our house some times just set there in the air over the garden up high. till we asked a cop friend wtf was up, he looked into then it, stopped they were watching us for pot growing because of a summer garden with plants that looked like pot leaves. no joke .!!! . no lie. sense then it hasn't happen.!!!we have two acres of land so the garden was kind of big for a house in suburbans.

Yes but you may have to do one of the options below https://github.com/michelem09/minera If you wanna use a new Raspberry PI 2 and you are running a Minera version <= 0.4.0, you need to first upgrade packages from an old Raspberry, then you can use the same SD Card on the new one. Get a Raspberry PI (not 2), push the Minera SD Card on it, turn on and SSH into it, then run these commands: sudo apt-get update sudo apt-get upgrade This could take a while (I mean also an hour, it's slow), but after that you can run your Minera SD Card in any Raspberry PI model, new ones included. i have run it on a rasp pi 2 2b ans 3b but i did a clean install and built my own minera if your asking can you run the per made image on a rasp pi 3 the above should let you , i can't remember if I tried yet i use Ubuntu 16 and build it.IF it can run a linux distribution, it can run minera, i have run minera on a desktop PC , i complied my own version on a PC with Ubuntu 16 and run it but to me that was a waste of a good PC , i wanted to see if it was do able . you can probable even run it on a windows 10 PC, win 10 now comes with tools to let you do that kind of stuff . I'm talking the windows 10 gui everyone uses, not the 10 version that runs with power shell , i think the last win 10 updated added all that stuff in . |

Anyone got any ideas why windows locks up when I start claymore. It gets to loading dag then locks up.
All cards are over locked. Most of the time it's the card with active video for teamviewer
Cards were at 1130/auto core 1945/955 mem
Moved them too 1130/auto core 2000/1000 mem
To much of an overclock?
Didn't move power.. maybe Up the watts?
try at default setting first if it works then your over clock setting are not adjusted right with each other . |

Hello,
I have a problem uploading custom software. When I choose my files and select "Upload" it fails (Upload status: Upload failed).
Checking the log I can see this line: "29.09.2016 14:31:08.552 [014] [E]Service Request Failed
System.ServiceModel.CommunicationObjectAbortedException: Der Vorgang wurde beim Herstellen einer Verbindung mit net.tcp://192.168.2.158:9630/AM/SystemService abgebrochen."
Any idea how to solve this? The client is a Win10 Machine.
I've made a few corrections to this feature that will be available in the next release. hey man what happen to uploading custom software the issue I'm having now is it uploads every time but after it uploads it puts it on C drive on the remote PC i sent it to,to C drive without a folder and I can't access it unless i go to that PC and move those files in to a folder and name the folder were it thinks the upload went other wise no upload folder is seen and the upload location is locked if, I try to set the miner to the uploaded software. |
