There once was a BitcoinTalk admin [theymos ]Who some say was octospermous Though the cause was unknown Others have been told It was due to him contracting thermusThere once was a BitcoinTalk admin [theymos ]Who had several problems with this thymusHe had contracted thermusFrom a contaminated thermos But cured himself by eating some ThymusThe English language is some fucked up shit sometimes. I never knew there were two meanings for thymus and both their meanings were totally opposite of the other. Tf.

I wonder, who has been reporting a lot on altcoin section? those boards need more than 3 active moderators. I'd suggest people to start reporting more in altcoin section.
Why not you give it a headstart? You have told members before to report 200 posts and other nonsense in the name of the helping the forum, why don't you do the same. You might get your negative removed, like you said in your trust ratings given to others.
My question to the mods, how to properly report those threads? "This user might be a bot since there are others with the same nickname style that are posting crap" does't look like a good explanation to me in a report. Like Welsh said, just report it as plagiarism if that's the case. If the bot is posting random stuff in random threads, report it as off topic / possible bot. Different mods have different understandings, so your reports might be marked bad if enough evidence is not available, though that will be a rare case.

Yep, it was more than rumors but it was funny. For example, on Twitter, all the XRP influencers swearing Coinbase will add it, and reply to you with arrogance if you said to them "no way"
I find the crypto world funny, it's like a soap opera, there is always a problem, a rumor or a drama to read about and it never ends
Don't forget the drama in this forum : https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?board=129.0Although you got to love the butthurt XRP influencers.

Newbies should not be prevented from the forum because they will also later become a *big fish to learn from their contributions.
Don't worry this will never happen, even if it did, there will be exceptions to this like buying a copper membership or any other membership or something. theymos believes in free speech. He won't let innocent people pay for some scumbags.

I would not put that much trust in the "system". Especially considering the lack of willingness to even discuss trust ratings by those in DT, and the lack of consideration of verifiable facts and the opinion of the community of a whole of those in DT when handing out ratings.
The trust system is too over-rated,yes. But it is what it is. People trust that green shit too much. Some DT members don't bother to explain their ratings sometimes, but suchmoon is fair in his ratings and judgement, from what I have seen. Suchmoon explained this case very well, whilst digaran didn't even bother to look at the reference. Imagine if DT network gets even more decentralized, shit will get fucked up even more. Maybe a whole redo of DT network may change things for the better.
I guess some people just don't trust trolls and I don't blame them. Is diagran a scammer? There's no evidence for that. Is he untrustworthy? I wouldn't trust him exactly because of his behaviour. He's done several shady (or at the very least stupid) things and this is what happens when you spend your time acting like a buffoon and trolling because people don't know whether to take you seriously or not. I kinda felt sorry for him at first but I think he probably enjoys the attention of being an outcast now and isn't going to change so he's likely a lost cause.
He wants more than just mere attention. He wants to help the community(?). Probably not,but you never know. He almost left bitcointalk but alas.

Places like Bitstamp gave people plenty of notice and got rolling exactly when they said they would. It's not hard and it's a courtesy customers deserve. But yes there's a long history of nefariousness when it comes to coin launches and delistings too.
There were constant rumors and "guarantees" about coinbase crediting their customers BCH by January 2018,way back in August 2017 itself. And they credited the users in December 2017(?).
Coinbase showed themselves up big time and it shouldn't be forgotten especially since they're gunning to be the supreme crypto presence.
I don't think a lot of people even cared/know about the creepy behaviour by coinbase. They have already put too much trust in them,I am just waiting for it to blow up on their faces.
I'd expect it from somewhere like Yobit, not Coinbase which is dripping with NYSE and other VC money. Can you imagine the public outrage if a conventional stock exchange had handled a launch like that? They'd be fucking crucified and probably have broken multiple laws too. Coinbase showed themselves up big time and it shouldn't be forgotten especially since they're gunning to be the supreme crypto presence.
Conventional stock exchanges are way more shady than the crypto exchanges. Their tie-ups and all that crap is way too creepy, they are one of the main reasons for corruption, black market, manipulation that has caused all of us to be in a shit place and with recession all across. I would believe in poloniex more than the fucking stock exchanges.

However there was something deeply off about the entire launch process. I don't know what their agenda was but whatever it was wound up making them look like creeps.
Really? But isn't that how every crypto exchanges behave? Creepily do shit from behind and fuck up people's life by saying nothing about anything. I found something that may relate to what you're talking about : https://techcrunch.com/2017/12/20/coinbase-bch-bitcoin-cash-api-reddit/

from 2 may to today, 22 days that I wait, and they confirmed they have ALL WHAT THEY NEEDED to remove the google auth.
No a phone call, no an apologise, no an email more "human" to give confidence to a client, nothing of nothing.
Really disgusted.
So they replied back. You should be celebrating that they did. 22 days isn't that long, considering how much time other exchanges take. Welcome to the crypto world . However disgusted you feel, they certainly do not care, because they know people will use their exchange because they have to.

Not sure why no one has mentioned it yet, https://bitcoin.stackexchange.com/, albeit that this isn't really a forum, there are some great questions/answers discussion about the technicalities of bitcoin. You'll rarely find spam there, and mostly straightforward answers to (mostly) technical questions. I use this site very often, for my Q/A thread and for other purposes and I have found it very helpful. The questions are asked, and are answered with good insight. Its easy to find any technical questions related to bitcoin in this forum/whatever. What about /r/bitcoin? There are good disucssions made there and some of the BTC developers go there sometimes to discuss their thoughts and proposals.
There are also funny memes and threads which make it less boring.
Reddit is also filled with spam but maybe with a little more humor. But that place is definitely not the best for bitcoin related technical questions without any doubt.

Yeah, although Altcoin Discussion hasn't been subject to the newbie bot invasion as far as I can see. I would agree with you that in general that place is a mess though. Can't really blame the moderation team on that one as mprep is the only dedicated mod, and has to deal with thousands of posts per day in that section alone never mind the it's child boards.
Maybe its time for bitcointalk to have more mods(rather than just one) for a few sections being filled with spammers. Altcoin section can be a start.

Yeah. A lot of people were waiting for Coinbase to add XPR, and some people spreading rumors, people started to buy and speculate on the XPR price after Coinbase adds it. As a result, instead, they got the big NO from the company. However, for money, I am sure they will be ready to start to think about adding it. At the same time, an exchange without Ripple is There are rumors that coinbase would even list ZRX. lol. But for XRP,people are spreading more than just rumors. But then again,it is just normal crypto things. However I'm sure all of that flies out the window if there's some money in it for them. Their Bcash launch was very underhand and mysteriously eager too.
They claimed that they listed Bcash because the community wanted them to. lol

@Ultra, I'm still here man. I'm a victim of abuse of power by suchmoon, actmyname and marlboro, the best cigar in the world. you people are funny, you'd care about untrusted feedbacks and would call them butthurts but when DT members leave negative trust it is always accurate and they are always right.
That's why they are on DT and butthurts are not on DT. Now not all the tags by DT members are accurate, people have been added and removed from the DT for many reasons. Abuse of power would make sense if the DT members have something against you, they don't FYI. The tags are only because of your own self.

Did you take the necessary precautions before you cashed out your forked coins? Like moving all your bitcoins from the old wallet to a new one(that's a thing right?). Check this guide: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=2836875.msg29086309#msg29086309Like thirdspace said,it might not be the mistake from blockchain.info's side, maybe from you. Even though their wallet is known to have a lot of bugs,it sometimes can be you who did something stupid.

Maybe, I'm not sure. Most of the ones which I've reported have just been newbies posting plagiarized content. Doesn't seem they engage after that. Possibly, someone trying out their bot that they will eventually use for bounties. Some of the sources they are using are actually pretty difficult to find.
Which is why I started using a plagiarism checker: https://edubirdie.com/plagiarism-checkerSomeone had recommended it in another thread in meta and it has been helpful ever since.

I realized that I hadn't merited you at all,so I gave you one. Your guides and posts in general are more than good enough. I have read your posts quite a few times and found them helpful/thoughtful and even insightful. Congratulations.
Give it a month or so, and people will be suggesting he is Satoshi himself. People already have, have a look: Who is nullius? #nulldox

What they benefit from doing this I don't exactly know, but I've found several threads made by these 1 post newbies which are either completely copy, and pasting or are only using a snippet of the text from another source. They seem to be getting a lot of it from news websites, but are also copying from much earlier posts on this forum too.
One possible guess would be a random dude having a myriad of accounts, and he sacrifices a few of those by plagiarizing topics, and using his other accounts to spam their way through. All this for bounties maybe. Cases like this have been true before, people managed to get hell a lot of rich.
Instead of totally abandoning Bitcoin Discussion, maybe just keep having discussions with those who want to. Create your own self moderated thread, and discuss stuff. We all came here to discuss about bitcoin and we are doing everything else other than that.

Could we have a fork of DT? I'd say that DT should be visible only on altcoin sections if they are not on theymos's trust list, what say you? whoever is not on theymos's trust, their feedback should be only visible on altcoin sections by default. this way we would know who has tried to fork the trust system.
How is this for keeping trust decentralized and removing any chance of gaming and abusing the trust system?
The section where no one gives a shit about trust? Sounds about right.
I am not sure you understand how trust is to be decentralized. You see, theymos wants to decentralize the trust system by having a few trusted members(DT1 members) having to delegate their authority to people who they seem are trustworthy(DT2 members).

And your a chipmixer shill, whats your point. Chipmixer "shills" don't break rules like you and say bullshit like you marinecoin shills do. Chipmixer "shills" at least try to make this forum a better place unlike you marinecoin shills who just shitpost everywhere for a few pennies. My point is that majority of the shitposters won't rank up because they don't know what to post or say other than just combining random words to make a sentence. Shitposters like you'll never rank up if you remain being shills and keep posting unwanted noise.
