1221  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: ESPORTS - predictions and tips (Dota 2, CS:GO, LoL) on: April 10, 2020, 03:00:16 PM
A bit sad as NaVi lost to Fnatic. I know that they are the usual choke teams but I thought they could do it since Perfecto is a good piece for the team as Guardian left. Fnatic though, they had a good run in this tournament, even defeating Astralis and now Na'Vi which is the number 1 team based on the tournament. This team might win this tournament.

Yea, it's hard to bet on this tournament. I was terrible today with my CS:GO predictions :/

Well, that is fine though. I am also shocked by the current results especially Fnatic. I guess this is also influenced by the fact that it is being played online unlike the usual LAN tournaments. I will still continue to watch this thread bro, don't worry, it really happens.

Im just in watch and learn mode for now. Is there a way to watch the games somewhere?

They are also streaming it in their YouTube channel :

1222  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Recent Corona Virus Scams on: April 10, 2020, 02:17:17 PM
Scammers are working harder this time because many companies are closing temporarily and are not providing salaries to its employees.More people are needing financial support this hard time. So there will be some people that will resort into scams to earn money.

That is just frustrating when you say they are working harder this time. Instead of helping other people, instead of thinking about how bad people's position right now and they are still working hard to scam people. I guess there are really those people that don't have sympathy for people, they are selfish and ignorant. I am watching this thread to warn some of my co-teachers about scams that are happening since I know a lot of people who are so desperate to help right now.

Selling bitcoin in this time of crisis is the best thing to do in order to survive. For me it is the best decision because our lives are matter, we can still make investment after this crisis. For those who sell their bitcoins because they do not have money anymore, good job because you manage to do it. Even though you sell it to the low prices, there are still a lot of opportunities that will come here in the cryptocurrency market.

I think this really depends since why would you sell if you can provide and support your family and your selves in this pandemic or this ECQ. It is right though, people should really prioritize themselves than their investments. You can do your investments, trades, and bets in the future. Always remember that a dead person can't do that.
1224  Economy / Economics / Re: What is the best Cryptocurrency to Invest? on: April 10, 2020, 12:06:20 AM
You just said that the price of BTC is much lower now However the best cryptocurrency to invest in is Bitcoin Now is the best time to hold on. Prices are expected to rise later this year. Every trader is now buying BTC. Everyone knows that the BTC will be considered a valuable asset upfront.
Yes its best to invest in bitcoin now. Halving is approaching and it can influence the price of btc to soar high, its not a guarantee but knowing the history of btc it is possible. Thus if you bought btc when the value decline few weeks ago due to investors panic selling, you're lucky because the price is recovering now and I think it will continue until halving. For me btc and eth are the best crypto to invest and hold for long period.

Well, the price dump happened not because of those investors who panic sold their btcs either because of the pandemic because of the quick fall that is happening back then but because of the scammers of PlusToken moving their scammed btcs into mixers. Either way, it is not favorable for those people that want to invest since the price is already stable going up and might see the price at $8K next week. You missed the chance to reinvest so better wait for a good chance to buy again.
1225  Economy / Economics / Re: The pandemic outcome on: April 09, 2020, 11:21:37 PM
Such thread with worried posts can compound panic. Chinese is over with the crisis at the moment and are doing fine, they are back at work and migration is controled with some changes in lifestyle. The country is even exploiting the crisis in the world to build their economy, while exporting goods to all countries in crisis. I believe if we look at Wuhan we can pick the understanding of where we head.

Wuhan is in lockdown and now it is being lifted making those people travel outside the place again. Slowly they are going back to normal and I think that would be the same to those countries that don't have that many cases right now or those countries that controlled well the virus. Here in our country, the extension of ECQ is extended but here in the province that I am in, it might not be needed an extension since we only have 4 cases and the people controlled it well.

1227  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [DOTA 2] ESL One Los Angeles 2020 MAJOR [GAMBLING DISCUSSION] on: April 09, 2020, 09:47:06 PM
TNC won two major this DPC season and in the 1st rank in terms of DPC points.
TNC is a good team and was able to give a hard game for some tier 1 teams. But actually, TNC won major 2 times because of most of tier 1 teams were not playing in those tournaments. And now they're really struggling even in just SEA regional.

I don't know how people describe their Tier 1 teams but for me, it is those teams that can win Minors and Majors, TNC did win 2 tournaments, and 1 of them is a Premier, my mistake, making them a tier 1 team. tier 1 not playing in that tournament? How about VG? EG? IG? These teams are TI contenders and I don't think they are not a tier 1 team especially EG and VG. A win is a win, and I don't think we should look at who the players are. TNC could sit comfortably right now and be ready for the TI, they don't need DPC points right now since they are automatically invited at TI10, it is a possible reason why they are not that desperate to win minors and majors or even Premiers anymore. To be clear though, I am not a fan of TNC but their achievements are the fruit of their hard work. They can't win a major, they would be bullied, now that they won tournaments back to back they would be still bullied, they don't deserve it since they work hard for it. It is not their fault that those "tier 1 teams" that you know are not invited or went through the qualifiers.
1228  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [DOTA 2] ESL One Los Angeles 2020 MAJOR [GAMBLING DISCUSSION] on: April 09, 2020, 01:35:38 PM
I've been following the team but I just don't like them however I recognize how strong and good they are.

Which team? TNC? Nigma? Gambit? They are all a good team, TNC won two major this DPC season and in the 1st rank in terms of DPC points. Nigma won the WePlay against Team Secret which is a good thing. Gambit is also great despite them not being that favorite and popular, they have some good runs this year and I think they could also have a good run this tournament. Bit worried about Nigma but they are the kings of the lower bracket so I think that is fine.
1229  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: I realise Coronavirus is not a reason why on: April 09, 2020, 12:43:07 AM
I think that's normal for the people to panic sell their holding in bitcoin or any other digital coins. Some of us are shocked when the price of the bitcoin adn other cojns drastically changes and going down.
For the situation, many people can't go outside their houses, and many can't even go to work. So, I think they're selling their bitcoin to fiat for them to have their money to be use.

Some of my friends who are professional trader on Binance and Bittrex platform also exchanged their BTC at a lowest price. I asked them why they sold it at such a loss, they replied that they thought coronavirus will badly hit the crypto market like the stock market. So, there are many people who thought that way and sold their BTC at cheapest price. I think this is the main reason for bitcoins price collapsed.

Well, I think it is really inevitable for some people to sell their btcs because of the pandemic despite the fact that it will not directly affect the price of the market. Just look at how the price are now, the price is affected by those scammers of PlusToken sending their scammed btcs to mixers. People would be selling their btcs from panic not just because they don't know what will happen but also because they might need fiat in this lockdown.
1230  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin during pandemics on: April 08, 2020, 11:09:40 PM
I want to really commend Op for the thread. It reminds me of Ebola too in 2014, it was a battle too and I believe the way it was fought to standstill, corona virus too will go down
Ebola in 2014 was limited to some countries in Africa eg Congo, Tanzania, Sierra Leone and few cases in Nigeria of course I don't agree that the pandemic has any correlation with the price of Bitcoin then, however the present covid-19 pandemic is a global issue now definitely it will influence the price of Bitcoin due to lockdowns imposed on the populace in many countries.

Why will those lockdowns affect the price of bitcoin? It is not that it is connected to how the people are selling their btcs. It will not directly affect the price since, despite the lockdown, the price is increasing. The price right now is at $7.3K, if these lockdowns are really affecting the price of bitcoin, it should be going lower than that.
1231  Economy / Economics / Re: Crypto replacing fiat? on: April 08, 2020, 08:39:01 PM
The cryptocurrency couldn't really replace fiat currency because fiat was supported by the government and fiat money started to dominate since the 20th century, that is why it is being used globally. We also do not need for cryptocurrency to replace fiat because cryptocurrency should always be decentralized.

It is not that it is supported but it is the currency being controlled by them. They would never let crypto currency replace fiats since we all know that cryptos are decentralized, as no one would control it, whales would be able to manipulate it. I think crypto currency would go side by side with fiat, as we can use fiat every day, that would be the same as crypto currencies.
1232  Economy / Economics / Re: returning to normal on: April 08, 2020, 06:53:42 PM

As the COVID-19 strikes and spreads throughout the world it results on many changes in the lifestyle of many people. I guess after this pandemic coronavirus, everything has changed such as lifestyle, behavior, characteristics and also the way of their thinking. ...

I do not know when I will be able to return to the office for my main job, it is possible that the quarantine will be delayed for several more months. But the fact that this year I will not be able to go on vacation with my family in the summer is obvious now.

Here in our country, the ECQ will be extended until April 30. It is a bit sad but we can't really do anything about it since it is for our own good. They say they can cancel that here in our province but still, the government is not sure about that. Well, we will just need to wait for their decision. I think it will not be more than several months, more like a week to me.
1233  Economy / Economics / Re: Corona has killed economy of many businesses on: April 08, 2020, 01:23:39 PM
Yes you are right corona has screwed up many businesses and  ofc the most affected businesses are restaurants ,travel business and all the daily businesses stocks of pharma companies are going up a bit , lets hope that doctors find a vaccine supersoon lets just hope for the best this is all we can do right now.

There are a lot of other things we can do right now and it is not just always to hope for the best. If we will not be doing things for the best, it will not happen. In a way, we can help by following the instructions of those people that know better when it comes to things like these. If we can provide for other people we can also do that, sharing legitimate information obviously from legitimate sources, it might not be that much but as a whole, it can help.

What team I am looking forward also now is the Virtuous Pro, after RAMZES left the team and moved to Evil Genuises, I want Virtuous Pro to prove something even RAMZES left, this team is too strong before on some majors.

Well, we shouldn't be blaming RAMZESS for that one since it is really normal for esports to restart and I think RAMZESS feels his next challenge will be with Team EG. Right now, EG is not a participant in the major but RAMZESS is now a stand-in to NIP which is not having a good run, to be honest. I don't know what happened to PPD but I can say that he is one of the best players in the past, he is even nominated for Best Esport Player of the year, he didn't win it though.

Seems a sort of strategy though. May be they are looking for an easier path directly to championship. No idea tbh but this is what I see lol, you know upper brackets consist of much more competitive, and formidable opponents. Nevertheless, whoever team comes down to lower bracket they just destroyed it, like what they did in TNC in the previous TI, the thing is, TNC doesn't have the momentum yet, and they seemed out of the pace that's they been shaken off by Liquid(which is team Nigma by now). But whatever, still rooting for TNC, on the other hand I wanna see OG's chemistry since majority of their players are now off.

They are the ones expected to win the tournament and although they lost, that lower bracket run is just amazing. They did not drop a single loss starting from TNC until the quarterfinals where they dropped their first loss to PSG-LGD which I think is normal since it is a Chinese powerhouse. In terms of TNC, I don't know what is happening to them right now but they started this DPC season with a great run winning two majors and then they just lost easily in the next tournament, they are still not consistent. They are the number one DPC team this season but they are not showing something amazing after a two major wins.
1235  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: What are you doing now? on: April 08, 2020, 12:22:06 AM
I am chilling out, go out with my group whenever possible from our end as when we collect some money and bring some groceries, prepare it and go out, give them to the poor to feed them.

I wish those who have the capacity financially would do this, in times of crisis, we can't heavily rely on the government, sometimes we need to act as a human and we can extend our help in our very own way. Just be careful mate against covid-19, it's still out their, just wear all the necessary protective gears.

I think a lot of people are really wanting to help other people but they are not capable of helping people financially since not all of us here are that influential and as I said, capable of doing so. Instead of thinking about gambling, I think we can also help in a simple way of doing things just like following the quarantine policies given by the officials.
1236  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [DOTA 2] ESL One Los Angeles 2020 MAJOR [GAMBLING DISCUSSION] on: April 07, 2020, 11:30:10 PM
It's kinda unbelievable to me that Team Nigma and Team Liquid are almost on the bottom of this group stage. Well, there is still a chance to bounce back.

I am not really expecting from Team Liquid besides their coach, Blitz, in terms of Team Nigma, I think they can still get up after that loss.

Also, if you are a longtime Dota 2 fan, I know you know the face of Dota 2 is in the past. I don't know if he is still the face of Dota 2 but he is in team B8 right now and having a bad time in their first game. Right now, I have my eyes on VP which also had a great first game. It is nostalgic since some of the players were in the same team that we loved in the past, Na'Vi like Funn1k and Sonneiko playing for other teams while Dendi is in B8.

I just checked the teams and I am surprised that most of the past teammates of Dendi are playing in this tournament. Including Kuroky and Puppey, we also have Funn1k and Sonneiko here, that is just amazing. I am not a fan of NaVi since I am a bit of a Chinese team in the past since they are the ones dominating the pro stage in that era.

The attitude of Team Nigma, if you have been following them even before they always get into the lower bracket. I don't know if that's sort of strategy to them or they are just adding intense so it's more challenging for them to win when they reach the Semi Finals.

I think that is a strategy or maybe they are trying something else. I think it is a bit of the Path of least resistance but I think they have a strategy in mind. It is Kuroky so we don't really need to be worried about it. I think people would also look at Team Navi right now, they have a good pos 4 that might lead to their good run this tournament. Not surprised with Team Secret though but VP is just amazing too.
1237  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: How many people here would choose bitcoin as their form of payment? on: April 07, 2020, 01:39:09 PM
I was curious if given the opition would you or would you not get all pay in 100% bitcoin.

Well, I will be choosing to pay using my bitcoin. The fact that Lightning Network is developed is for this reason. I am not just making my transactions more convenient and efficient I am also helping in a way to circulate bitcoin more. I just hope people would accept bitcoin more here in our place, the thing here is that despite people having a lot of debit cards, they are still using the method of using cash.
1238  Economy / Economics / Re: The pandemic outcome on: April 07, 2020, 12:47:13 PM
It is very likely that we will be soon witness another crisis after this pandemic event many people around the world are becoming jobless, in other word no financial to face the reality when this such phenomenon exit, add up the mortgage and bills to pay for, it is sure pain in the back to workaround and see what we can do for the upcoming month during this pandemic.

This is true but there are still those kind hearts that still exist. Some of the companies of electricity, internet, and ISPs, etc are said to delay their bills and might even consider reducing the payment of their costumers here. It might not be that convenient but still, I am just happy that in a small way, they can help. The government is doing something though it is not enough. People are having doubts about their leadership skills and since people are usually in their houses stuck in front of their TVs, PCs and mobile phones, the power of media is soo powerful. This also affects in a way since with a simple announcement people are looking it in a bad way making it hard for the government to maintain and contain the virus resulting in a longer quarantine nad lockdown period and that also means the high effect on the people and the economy. Media is so powerful right now, I just wanna emphasize this since a lot of people are so pumped because of there fake news circulating on many social media platforms.
1239  Economy / Economics / Re: COVID-19 will pave the way for CBDCs on: April 05, 2020, 11:49:01 PM
I have the same thought and conviction that central banks will develop their own digital coins, this impact of this pandemic is just too massive and humbling. It's even more expensive to manage fiat than managing digital coins. The fiat has a whole lot of bottle necks to deal with.

Developed countries that can support this will be able to start their project and I think it will take years before we will be able to do this. I just hope I will be able to catch this change while I am alive. Though it will not be expensive to the one managing it, how about the users of it, the people that will be using the digital currency or coins. Not all of the people here are well-versed when it comes to technology.
1240  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Suggestions for online gamblers on: April 05, 2020, 11:05:47 PM
6. Don't spend all your time gambling, have enough time

I think not all of the gamblers right now are actually gambling. Think of it as a food, not all of us eat burgers. What I mean is that people don't eat what they like, they might be forced to do things they are not used to but I think most of the gamblers right now are not finding n alternative and so bored right now in their houses. I guess we can also suggest that, don't find an alternative it increses the risk of you losing especially if you don't know the game.
