The quest for merit, is the new trend now.
In a way yes, but it is more indirect now. Finding out "merit abuses" and bringing them to attention is the new trend right now. By doing so, people are pleasing the community, getting merits but at the expense of their own time. Merit system is so damn working.

I disagree with you guys, who knows maybe they will come up with something really cool !!!???
Are you even listening to yourself? Who emails you something that is "really cool".No one. They only spam the shit out of your email talking about referrals, marketing strategies, investing "opportunities" and crap like that.
Honestly we don't need yet another social network platform, there are way too many already and everywhere you can see one thing: spamming. So I would rather not.

lost phone so need to remove two-factor (lost backup as well DOH!)
I had the same situation a few months ago,and they responded in like 2 weeks. Give them some time, their support is better than poloniex, they will come back at you. Hopefully you can get your account back in like a month, maybe even earlier..

I've saw a huge wave of Liqui complaints last year, and their support seemed to stop responding entirely to support tickets. It's annoying as hell to deal with, because they're the ones at fault and nobody is trying to assist you in getting your funds, which are rightfully yours, back.
Probably because of them having a really small support team, after all liqui is not that big of an exchange. All exchanges suffer this problem. Usually they are like 5-10 members formed as one team that handles everything. It is nightmare on their end as well. Sucks to be in such situation,be it for the users,be it for the exchange themselves.

Whether or not this is a newly added clause, hopefully traders, specifically traders with large volume realize that there is this risk involved in storing large amounts on LBC, and LBC has demonstrated that they are tightening the rules, which further increase risks of a suspended/frozen account.
This is really bad. LBC is one of the very best platforms for trading, and the risk involved is comparatively lesser than other trading platforms because of the presence of an online escrow.
I don't see why verifying is a problem here,as it is you are already revealing your name, bank account details etc for every trade. Only LBC's staff will be able to look through your details(its not good but it is not that bad either for such to happen). If you're willing to trade more than atleast 1 BTC,you might as well verify your account right from the beginning.

Can any OG member or staff or moderator answer the following question? If posts are reported in sections that don't have mods, how are those posts handled? Do they go to a global queue of some sort for other mods to handle these submissions? If so, then would it be beneficial for users to report posts in these mod-less boards, or would their reports be pointless?
These are either handled by Global Mods(Grue,Hilariousandco,Salty ,rickbig41,mrprep) or by admins(theymos, cyrus). Though these reports may not be handled immediately but they get handled soon enough(I am totally assuming the end part based on what I have read ). Edit: Damn it jackg, you beat me to it

About cleaning the meta section, we could do this by creating a megathread and making everybody only post their reports there.
Killyou72 did that,it is not working out that well. New threads are anyhow being created. It is actually better that new threads are being created,so that it is more easier to handle things.

The dude has mental issues and needs medical help ASAP IMO.
Therapy!
Digaran, why did you resign from being a merit source? Scratch that, you apparently knew that you were unfit for the community. So why again reapply?
And even <insert the most fucked up person you know here except digaran> will have more chance of becoming a merit source if you keep your "weird goofy behaviour" which almost no one understands. Look your sarcasm is definitely not intended for everyone. People still get offended by sarcasm, trust me, they can't keep themselves in their pants.

Bill,if you're buying a 2 in 1 laptop or a genuine laptop,I would seriously ask you to wait out for the laptops coming up with 8th gen Intel processors. They help to boost up the performance, big time. One laptop with a GTX 1050 graphic card and with the new 8th gen processor: ASUS VivoBook Pro Thin & Light Laptop, 17" Full HD , Intel i7-8550U Processor, 16GB RAM, 256GB SSD + 1TB HDD, NVIDIA Gaming GeForce GTX 1050,Backlit Keyboard, Windows 10, Star Gray, N705UD-EH76

Oh god,6 months is horrible. I thought poloniex was the worst because they take like 2-3 months(which is still not good)but 6 months is unacceptable.
Alright, they told 2 weeks yes? Wait out for like 2 more, hopefully you should be getting your XRP back. If not,you have possible choices:
1. Sue them.
2. Follow them up on every one of their social media accounts and ask them for your money.
3. Be patient. Do what you got to do. And why would you send this much money to exchanges without even reading their FAQs,I am being a hypocrite right now because even I sort of did the same thing but nonetheless.

Bill gator's sMerit Post-Review thread got moved to Off-topic, and was instantly attacked by spambots.
I saw the thread and I was like whoo....The heck is that? This actually made Bill lock his thread.
Does it make any difference if these account are tagged? Does any of them care about the red trust? Does the bounty campaign care about red trust? I'm not really sure that this worth the effort... I think what they really care is deleting their posts (activity decrease) or ban...
It doesn't make a difference, they aren't here to trade, they are here for bounties. The bounty managers mostly don't do anything about is what the main cause is. This has been discussed so many times and yet bounty mangers are reluctant to do their own work. Thanks to rickbig41 and other mods, they get nuked soon enough.
I was thinking of setting a trap in Off-topic: "Post here to be banned" Do it. Seriously. Bots aren't that smart yet. Take advantage of them before they wipe out the human race.

I found both of the above posts knowledgeable, and very helpful. Thanks guys. Atleast I get to learn something.

My problem is, I read a lot, I mean a lot of posts. When I read a good post, most of the times I forget that there is a function called giving sMerits. So I end up moving to read another topic or to follow up another posts. Later when I realise I should have spent some sMerit on that good post I read earlier, it's then too late. I miss it most of the time.
Can actually agree with that. I hardly merit people mainly because I am too lazy,am just too damn lazy.
Fair enough,if you like what you're doing and if you feel that it is the right thing, sure go ahead. Good luck.

Why not replace a Personal Messages with a some kind of chat? The one with any kind of notifications (preferably also with sound). Chatting with someone could be really painfull here so asking someone for telegram sometimes is the only way to communicate efficiently.
This idea is even worse. Do not replace Personal Messages. This is a forum dude, not a social media website. You're here to discuss about things not to spread memes all across.

I've had an incredibly hard time getting merit. This doesn't effect me very much since my account is already hero rank, though. I think the real problem is that sMerit doesn't have an incentive for people to send it. This whole system is very incomplete, and while it may cut down on spam in a small way, there's a HUGE barrier to entry into the forum now.
Why make getting a decent account so grindy with no payoff? It's like a video game where you'll spend 100 hours to get .0001% stronger. We need some game theory to make a new system that's rewarding and also fair to all users. This current system is heavily flawed.
Why are you in a hurry? And seriously how can you even compare this forum to a video game? Totally unrelated context. And for those who all are finding it hard to get merits, you're thinking in the short run. Merit system is not exactly flawed. The users are. Just post some shit that has some thought into it and you shall be just fine.

Seriously you need a chatbox on a forum? It is ridiculous. If you want to fend off trolls, create a self-mod topic and have your discussions. You can make your own rules in some threads and if users don't follow your rules in that, they can even get banned apparently. Seriously, ditch the chatbox idea.

I'm going to wait for more feedback before I make any final decisions, but it seems like my Merit review days are over. NO it has not, don't you worry. Its merit you're giving away. Unfortunately this crap has a lot of worth. I don't mind going back to having no thread to maintain, maybe this will free me up to jump back into your Q&A thread. Am waiting for ya..

Bill, take a chill dude. Digaran is obviously getting into your mind. His posts are totally non-comprehendable in most cases, and he seems to enjoy doing this.
Is Meta exclusively for "issues" or is it for "Discussion about the Bitcoin Forum?"
Discussion about the bitcoin forum, about ranking up(merits), recovering accounts,forum-related discussions. Do spam, posting-behavior and the distribution of merit not count as "issues?"
Not exactly. There is no discussion here, about the forum intact, rather it is about individuals who are only members of the forum. Does my thread accomplish more than allowing an avenue for users to beg for merit constantly?
Yes and no. Most of them who are asking for merits don't know how good their post quality is,they doubt themselves and they are in hunger of merits. Your thread is helping out users and this is both again good and bad.
